Book two in the New York Times and USA Today bestselling The Wedding Pact series.
Divorce attorney Blair Hansen is convinced that marriage should be based on practicality, not passion. But as her own wedding approaches, she finds herself remembering her law school boyfriend, the only man she’s ever loved, and regretting what might have been. Then a twist of fate lands Garrett back in her life, … lands Garrett back in her life, and the man who loomed large in her past is suddenly casting a shadow over her wedding, making her question everything. To complicate matters further, the job she loves is in peril, and she can feel the ‘perfect’ life she’s fashioned for herself start to crumble under her feet. Could everything she’s believed about life and love be wrong?
Garrett Lowry is a divorce attorney who’s ready to settle down. The problem is that he can’t find a woman who suits him nearly as well as the one he loved and lost. He broke her heart by playing the field after their break up — something he’s always regretted. But after months of pining for Blair, Garrett stumbles across her in a freak coincidence — and then destiny keeps throwing them together, the coincidences becoming ever more unlikely. He’s convinced it’s a sign they should give their love a second chance, but Blair is engaged to another man — a man who is absolutely wrong for her.
Can Garrett convince Blair that a player once isn’t a player forever, and that happy endings aren’t just for dreamers?

Review A very entertaining continuation of the The Wedding Pact series. This is book two of the 3 books series. It was a delightfully, light easy read. I enjoy these stories with all the serious issues we face each day in the world. You know with a romance book all will end happy. It was a nice escape.
Love Denice Grove Swank
This is a pretty well-written book. It may go a bit too far in examining the protagonist’s ever-changing emotional state, but that is characteristic of this author. It could be shorter, as a lot of attention goes to the back and forth of whether the main character should cancel her wedding. (She should — ultimately the author gets this right.) It could use more aggressive editing, but overall it is a good story with believable characters.
so cute
The Player (The Wedding Pact #2) fits the narrative perfectly. I wasn’t a fan of Blair Hansen in The Substitute so I wasn’t sure how I would feel about her romance. That being said I’m still not a huge fan of Blair but the narrative itself did have comical flair. Grams and naked yoga are the best experience. Nana Ruby is hilarious and so much fun. Looking forward to reading book two which is Libby’s.
LOVE IT – there are so many shenanigans in this series, you never know what will happen next. I love all the characters and the way they interact together. You know you are going to have craziness when you have a bunch of hillbillies. I can’t imagine how it can get any better than this. I can’t wait to find out. in the next book.
This book was a great read. I personally liked Garrett’s character because even if he could have told Blair the truth about Neil he gave him the chance to tell her the truth or find a way to get her to fall back in love with him. To me that was romantic. The only problem I had with the book is that some parts could have been better… You can also read my full review on the book (which I explained which parts in detail) in my website:

The second book in this Wedding Pact Series!
Blair! Oh Blair! I was not disappointed in this next installment! There was some competition involved in this book that made it pretty intense for awhile! I’m not one for chaos in real life or my life, but I do love me some chaos in books! In the end things work out, but you’ll need to read for yourself to find out how it happens!
So far my favorite of the two I’ve read in the series! Onto Wedding Pact #3 – The Gambler – and Libby!
In book two of the Wedding Pact series, Megan’s best friend Blair is an uptight attorney who may or may not take herself a little too seriously. Blair and Megan have totally opposite views on love and relationships. An ex-boyfriend finds his way back into her life as her own wedding day is approaching, complicating things for the bride to be. With her need to be perfect, will she let fate run its course, or try to manipulate this situation? I enjoyed seeing Blair’s softer side in The Player and was rooting her on through the entire story. This book is another sweet, romantic story about overcoming regret and missed opportunities with second chances. I can’t wait for Libby’s story!
What are the odds that Blair and Garrett run into eachother and heading in the same direction. Awkward and funny on how they are pushed back together. The emotions that the author pulls you through go from excited, frustrated, laughing, tension, suspense. Another book by Denise that doesn’t disappoint. Struggles the characters go through are real. The grandmothers? OMG! They are awesome!
I enjoyed this whole series. She entertains, I laughed and emphasized with the characters. And although I wasn’t sure I’d like this one as must as the others in the series, I really loved it.
The second book in The Wedding Pact didn’t disappoint! I was kind of expecting the same sort of story as the first book but I was way off! Denise is amazing at plot twists! Blair is an incredibly strong woman but not without her insecurities which we see in this book. This book is witty, funny, romantic, and so far fetched! Its amazing! I highly recommend!
This is book 2 in the series and I was again drawn into the pages and couldn’t put it down! Loved the characters, enjoyed the storyline and am eager to start book 3, which I’m sure will be every bit as good! Highly recommend the series!
If you have not read The Substitute – stop what you are doing and go read it now. After you have read The Substitute, I know you are dying for my review so here it goes:
DGS has done it again, swept me up and made me fall in love with her writing all over again! Blair and Garrett dated in college but broke up after a year. Fast forward several years and Blair is engaged to marry Neil. As fate would have it, Blair runs into Garrett twice unexpectedly the week of her wedding.
Does Blair follow through and marry Neil or does she ditch her fiancé for a guy who broke her heart in college??
The Player is the second book in the Wedding Pact series. This book focuses on Blair and her relationships with her boyfriend Neil and her ex-boyfriend, Garrett. I did not really like Blair in the first book of the series and I still do not care for her very much. I understand why she is the way she is but she is also a frustrating person. I liked Garrett and the other characters that were brought back from the first book. I really did enjoy the whole story and this book had plenty of laughs and drama. Even though I am not a big fan of Blair, I had a hard time putting this book down because I needed to know what was going to happen next and I loved the funny moments in this book.
Weddings
This time its Blair suppose to be getting married. But something is off with her fiancée, Neil. She runs into to the one man she loved after both are stuck in Phoenix. The funny thing is Garrett is Neil’s cousin. Will the prediction come true a 2nd time.
Loved this book. Couldn’t wait to read it.
Denise gave us the awesome Wedding Pact series where we meet Blair Hansen and her best friends Megan and Libby. With book 2 we get a little more insight into what makes Blair Hansen tick and why she’s the most feared attorney in her field. Loved her story and enjoyed seeing Megan and Libby make appearances as well. Well worth the read for some good laughs and some hot romance.
I was not sure if I would like The Player. I did not care for Blair in the first book. However, throughout my reading of this book Blair grows on me and about half way through I changed my opinion of her. I really liked Garrett and I feel like his character balanced out the book well. I did not like this book quite as much as The Substitute but I feel like is a great book and gives a lot of insight into Blair. I loved the ending of the book and laughed a lot at Blair and Neil’s wedding. I am looking forward to Libby’s story next.
An entertaining read.
