Baseball has never been sexier in an all-new novel by New York Times Bestselling Author, K. Bromberg.Easton Wylder is baseball royalty. The game is his life. His passion. His everything. So, when an injury threatens to end Easton’s season early, the team calls in renowned physical therapist, Doc Dalton, to oversee his recovery. Except it’s not Doc who greets Easton for his first session, but … Doc who greets Easton for his first session, but rather his daughter, Scout. She may be feisty, athletic, defiant, and gorgeous, but Easton is left questioning whether she has what it takes to help him.
Scout Dalton’s out to prove a female can handle the pressure of running the physical therapy regimen of an MLB club. And that proof comes in the form of getting phenom Easton Wylder back on the field. But getting him healthy means being hands-on.
And with a man as irresistible as Easton, being hands-on can only lead to one thing—trouble. Because the more she touches him, the more she wants him, andshe can’t want him. Not when it’s her job to maintain the club’s best interest in regard to whether he’s ready to play.
But when sparks fly and fine lines are crossed, can they withstand the heat, or is one of them bound to get burned?

This was a great story. I enjoyed all the twists and turns. It made it very refreshing. And wow, what an ending, I can wait to read part 2. I definitely recommend this book, this series, and this author.
Absolutely loved this book and can’t wait to read The Catch.
WOW! The Player was everything a steamy romance novel requires and so much more! A cocky jock with a soft side and a tough, give it as hard as she gets heroine, I couldn’t put it down. I can’t wait to read The Catch.
I absolutely love this sports romance, K Bromberg is a one-click author and so is this book. Easton & Scout’s story is fantastic, from the time they meet up until the last page, can’t wait for the next book. The audiobook is fantastic, the narrators Joe Arden and Andi Arndt made a terrific job narrating it and I would totally recommend it.
Of coarse K Bromberg would give us a sweet, sexy and emotional read! I loved Easton and Scout. With an ending like that I am ready to jump in to The Catch.
The chemistry between Scout and Easton was magic. Best sports Rom/Com I have read this year.
Page turner for sure!!!
Baseball player Easton Wild has an injury that has him sitting on the side lines and his new physical therapist Scout Dalton is here to help get him back out onto the field and off the disability list. And what grows between them is not only a patient/therapist relationship but an unexpected deep emotional connection that neither can deny. Each fighting their own demons they learn to trust, share and live. I loved the connection between these two characters you could feel the emotional bond as it grows and strengthens between them. The story line was compelling and K.Bromberg always manages to fit in her signature words “SLOW BURN” in somewhere. Great narration by the talented Andi Arndt and the sexy Joe Arden. Now I just have to patiently wait for book 2 in this cliffhanger story.
This amazing book touched on everything I love – passion, laugh out loud moments, heartbreak, and mystery – all wrapped up in a beautiful love story. The characters had me invested from the very beginning. The pain they have both endured is both heartbreaking, but watching them face their future was heartwarming.
Just one warning, this ends in a cliff hanger, so be ready to one-click The Catch immediately!!! Believe me, you’re going to want more Easton and Scout!
I “read” this book in the truck with my husband on our way to and from work.
I’ll be honest, when I chose this book for us to listen to…it was because it was about baseball and I didn’t want him to have to just listen to something that I wanted to “read”. This book turned out to be so much more, it has all the feels in the most delicious way. The conversations that we have about the book and speculation about what we think is going to happen, and what has happened, trying to work it out. Even though it ends with a cliff hanger and you with a broken heart – 100% worth the ride as you move on to book 2.
I have always attempted to give ‘star’ ratings on my completed reads, just as a tracking method for my titles that I have completed. I have unlimited packages for audio, kindle, and utilize the local/state library.
However, I do not check the ‘I recommend this book’ unless I am willing to reread a book and or a series.
[I read about 5-15 books a month through kindle, and I listen to about 15-30 books monthly]
I have a full life as a nurse, professor, wife, daughter [daughter in law], sister, and mother. I love to read and love a thousand other lives by turning the pages in countless books.
Thank you for the opportunity to provide a review. Happy reading 🙂
I’m not a huge sports fan, but for some reason, I love sports romances. Go figure. I’ll admit it’s taken a while to get to this duet, and I hate that I didn’t read them sooner. Kristy is an amazing author and her characters never fail to pull me into their story. The Player was just angsty enough, and I was rooting for Easton and Scout as they each worked through their own difficulties. LOVED IT!
The Player is a baseball romance, with a great Hero & Heroine and a intertwining backstory throughout to keep the story & characters progressing and developing.
Throughout the novel Easton and Scout provide us with fantastic banter, ripping into each, back and forth in pent up frustration as well as a growing romance and a beautiful friendship. Outside of the romance between them we get the continued back story from the characters both professionally and personally, highlighting how they are very similar in their Daddy issues, both driven to make their Father’s proud, yet is it at the sacrifce of their own dreams? One thing that stood out to me was that, it is Scout that wants to run away from their growing relationship, due to her fear of being left alone. Easton is a bit of an open book and isn’t afraid to show how he feels and try to just dive in and go with the flow, to see where things take them.
The end of the story throws a huge spanner in the works as Scout makes a snap decision that not only affects her but massively affects Easton with huge consequences. How are they going to work through this and handle the fallout? Best get cracking on The Catch to find out!
Sports romance fans, this is the book for you! As usual, K Bromberg does not disappoint. This is the story of baseball star Easton and sports physical therapist Scout. Both come from fathers who are legacies. Both are trying to prove they are more than that. The connection between this is too is apparent right from the start. As much as they push and pull they can’t deny it. And once they accept it the fireworks begin. Easton is a no strings attached playboy who is a major prankster and doesn’t need an ego boost. Scout is a stubborn and independent woman proving her place in an environment dominated by men. They both have their own issues past and present to deal with. You will be sucked into their world right away. This book has all that I love a bad boy, a strong woman, baseball, love, compassion, steamy scenes, healing and so much suspense and surprise I had to gasp a few times out loud. And as this author loves to do she leaves you needing more. I can’t start the next book fast enough.
Nothing better then some baseball and romance.
I don’t even know where to start with Easton and Scout. There is just so much to say about them. They are both struggling with some much in their lives and learn to work together. I couldn’t put this book down! There is a cliffhanger ending and thankfully, I could start right into the next book. I just had to know what happened next with my two favorite characters.
If you enjoy romance, if you enjoy baseball and if you enjoy any other book by K. Bromberg then you need to read The Player and check out Easton and Scout for yourself.
OMG! You can never go wrong with a K. Bromberg book and The Player is no exception. I loved Scout and Easton. I’m telling you this author writes the best relationships. I was cheering for these two from the very beginning. They are perfect for each other and I adored every moment they spent together.
Since Scout is Easton’s physical therapist, a relationship between the two is forbidden. But she can’t help the way she feels for Easton. He is a great guy who loves baseball and does everything in his power to get the girl. Scout has a lot she’s dealing with and successfully rehabilitating Easton will secure a contract for her with his team. So they must sneak around and be together. I loved how Scout was so cautious of Easton at first, but she eventually embraces the possibility of a relationship with him and even opens up to him. After that shocking ending I’m still rooting for this couple.
Eek! Not only was I excited that this released early, I’m really excited that we’re getting MORE of Scout and Easton! What a story! I loved every freaking minute of it. I’m not a sportsball fan at all, but for some reason, I love reading sport books. This book just had it all for me! I read this puppy all in one sitting, I could not put it down. The pace was great, there wasn’t a bunch of inner dialog so the story moved. Holy crap I love Easton. Hard. Scout’s a strong character too. Those two are just so great together. I already preordered the next book! I can’t wait to see what happens next. I’m hooked!!
K. Bromberg has given us another fabulous read with The Player. Easton Wylder is a professional baseball player and on top of his game, until an injury by another player sidelines him. Doc Dalton has the reputation of being the best in the business getting athletes back in the lineup. His daughter Scout Dalton has worked with her dad for years rehabbing athletes. Her father assigns her the task of rehabbing Easton and to prove that she is not only up for the challenge, but quite capable and good at what she does. Her success will determine whether or not her father gets a contract with the Aces, the one team he has never worked for. Will Scout be able to rehab Easton on schedule or is her father always going to be chasing that one team to complete his career.
This was an great story. A story that will have you laughing at the wittiness and banter, and falling in love with Easton Wylder and Scout Dalton, while cheering them on to make the deadline. It’s a story of trust, love, friendship, fighting for what you want, and not compromising who you are to reach your goals.
The Player is a must read. I enjoyed this book so much, I have already read it a second time and will most definitely read it again.

Another AMAZING read by K. Bromberg. A sports romance you can’t put down. It has EVERYTHING, chemistry, banter, and a swoon worthy alpha male that gives Colton Donavan a run for his money. And if you’re a baseball fan you’ll FLOVE this book even more. I adored Scout and fell head over heels in love with Easton. The Catch cannot get here soon enough!!! A must read!!! Highly recommend!!
