I liked Mia and Ethans story, although thought he carried a little too much guilt over things out of his controle, but I could understand why. I liked that Mia never really gave up even though she protected her self by acting like she did. It is a sweet love story with sadness and a couple though issues mixed in.

In this book we have Mia, who is a junior newspaper reporter. She doing her first undercover reporting. She is also the little sister of Will who is also best friends with Ethan, the both play professional hockey.
Will & Ethan are on the Philadelphia Flyers hockey team and best friends. Mia, Will, Ethan all lived next to each other when Will & Ethan were in high school. Mia is 10 yrs younger so she was in mid school. At night after everyone was asleep Mia and Ethanwould meet up in the backyard and talk about their days. Mia was in love with Ethan from the early age. Ethan was just happy he had a friend he could confide in.
Ethan left right after high school graduation. He never told Mia goodbye. Mia never forgave him of course. Ethan and Will met up again at the Flyers training camp. Ethan and Will are living together and working together. One night they went home and found their apartment totally ruined. The lady who lives above them fell asleep while in the bathtub and the water flooded their apartment!! Goodness what a mess to clean up. Will and Ethan show up at Mia’s apartment for a place to stay. Neither men realize how poor Mia is and her lack of funding to furnish her apartment, food and clothing. Mia works all the time but her paycheck is so low.
Ethan and Mia soon realize that being in such a cramped apartment their feelings soon come to light. Ethan wants to tell Will about his feelings for Mia. Mia says she needs to tell him.
Ethan and Mia need to work out what will happen for their friendship. Ethan needs to worry about the friendship with Will. Will needs to make sure Mia is safe before anything else.
Ethan & Mia met when they were teenagers. Ethan had a rough life. They spent their evenings together talking about their life and dreams. … Then one day Ethan just disappeared. He didn’t tell Mia where he was going or anyone else. … 10yrs later Ethan is a Hockey player & best friends with Mia’s brother Will, who is also a Hockey player. They live in a Condo together. … Then they have a flooded condo and the guys need a place to stay. So they showed up on Mias doorstep, asking to stay at her place until things are fixed at the condo. Mia wasn’t happy. She didn’t want the two of them cramping her style. She really didn’t want to spend time with Ethan. She still has feelings for him. Ethan doesn’t know if he can keep his hands off Mia being in the same apartment. But he couldn’t do that to Will. … So what were the two of them to do ? If you want to know what happens give it a one click now ! This was a great storyline. I really enjoyed reading this book. I highly recommend this book and the whole series ! I received an arc from bookfunnel and this is my opinion on the book.
Really loved this sweetly sexy, action packed and emotionally thrilling journey filled with witty banter, awesome charters and undeniable passion with a small twist of the forbidden… was so fun to read this adventure. Really loved the dynamic of all the involved charters.
I absolutely loved this book and wish I could give it more than 5 stars! This story was just so pulse racing, sexy, funny, passionate, and had plenty of the sexy hockey players we have come to love in this series. Just love Ethan and Mia and was probably grinning most of the time I was reading this book. Bring on the next book, please!! Happy reading!!
There’s a little bit of everything in this one. I kind of forgot about the hockey aspect in this book. I loved the friendship that Mia and Ethan started out with. I think it cemented the relationship, even if it was forbidden and forced to separate. Later when they connected the almost hatred combined with the chemistry between the two was so fun to read.
Ethan is the 5th book in the franchise from Jillian Quinn and as per the rest of the series it delivers.
The usual spice that is required to keep you reading and a few hilarious encounters too, that had me laughing out loud.
Ethan begins giving you an insight into other members of the team rather than the perceived ‘family’ giving you the comradeship of the team as older mentors for new blood. Which hopefully means that Jillian has even more storylines too come.
Jillian starts to incorporate certain landmarks into this book that will set the scene for future landmarks now used in the ‘Faceoff: Legacy’ series.
I can’t wait for the next one!

Ethan and Mia cared for each in high school but never did anything about it because Mia’s brother Will is Ethan’s best friend. Ethan and Will play varsity hockey together. Ethan has a secret and because of it leaves right after he graduates from high school and never says good-bye to Mia. Ten years later Ethan and Will are on the same pro hockey team. Mia wants nothing to do with Ethan but that doesn’t stop Ethan from trying to win her back. I really liked this story.
Oh I absolutely loved Ethan and Mia’s story! Second chance romance and siblings best friend all rolled into one amazing book. The mutual attraction and close quarters are not helping them keep their hands to themselves. Will, Mia’s brother, and Ethan have to stay with Mia for a while due to their apartment flooding. The chemistry is scorching hot, their story very well written and I did not want it to end.

Ethan and Mia were neighbors as teenagers and he is also her brother’s best friend. This is one of my favorite type of stories, maybe it’s because I had a crush on my older brother’s best friend growing up. I loved the chemistry between Ethan and Mia. Their story is filled with drama, angst, steam and a bit of a forbidden love. This is a well written story with well developed characters and a great addition to the Face-Off series. I can’t wait to read the next book by Jillian Quinn.
This is a well written story with a good plot. The author did a good job making the characters relatable. It was easy to connect with them. Mia and Ethan’s tale had a lot of feeling to it. I enjoyed seeing their characters develop and grow. I loved the dialogue and the connection between the two.
This was a good read. It took awhile to warm up to Ethan though. I get he had issues that he needed to work on but most of the time he just acted like a jerk.
Mia and Ethan do not seem to have a chance at a real relationship. He has too much baggage. She can not get through to him. It takes a lot for her to get where she wants to be. I like that Mia is pretty stubborn and pushes forward. It is hard to love Ethan but I do like him, he waffles through a lot of the story. I like Will most of the time, he is pretty funny with his manwhore ways. Mia has a somewhat unique job and that is good. A good story.

Book five in the Face-Off series this is Mia Elizabeth Roman and Ethan Waters’ story about a second chance. I enjoyed reading their story. I want to read the next book. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
How have I never read this author before? I loved this book and want to get my hands on every other book the author has written!

Jillian Quinn is on a winning streak with the fifth book in the Face-Off series, ETHAN. Ethan Water has had a crush on his best friend Will Roman’s little sister, Mia, since they were kids; but then he left without a word. They are reunited ten years later but now, Mia’s love turned to hate, and Ethan wants to win her back. This contemporary sports romance is suitable for adult readers.
I loved this book. Jillian Quinn does a great job with her characters. I like Ethan. He has survivor’s guilt over the death of his twin. His father was extremely hard on him. He had issues he needed to resolve. Mia is a noble heroine. She is Ethan’s light and the person who understood him.
The story had a solid plot. Ethan doesn’t want to risk his friendship with Will, but he loves Mia. He has gone through a lot of hardship. Mia was hurt when Ethan left and needs to learn to trust him again. The two have issues to resolve and confessions to make. Mia’s job with The Philadelphia Inquirer uniquely intertwines with Ethan’s past. The novel had the perfect ending that made the story feel complete. I recommend this story to people who enjoy best friend’s little sister and/or sports romances. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.
Loved it
This was a great read. Friends to lovers has never been so good. I loved Ethan and Mia’s story and I couldn’t put it down.
The great character and storyline development hooked me right from the start and the chemistry between Mia and Ethan kept me totally engrossed as I turned each and every page until the very end!
If you love a friends to lovers and a second chance read then you will love Ethan & Mia’s story. Ethan & Mia always had something special but Ethan wouldn’t cross the line since he was Will’s (Mia’s brother) best friend but now Ethan is back and he can’t hide his feelings anymore. The chemistry is still there, their sex is smokin hot and I absolutely couldn’t stop reading their story. Ethan & Mia’s relationship was inevitable and there ending was perfect.
