Becoming enemies with your neighbor is never a good idea. What’s even worse is when your neighbor turns out to be your incredibly hot client.Baseball god Sevin Smith is no longer just the noisy bachelor living above me. Now he’s the MVP client I have to protect from a paternity scandal, and I’m not thrilled that my boss has me on the case. That’s fine. I can pretend and work with a man who’s become … pretend and work with a man who’s become my enemy.
But what I can’t pretend is not to be attracted to him.
Not to fall for his sexy laugh and easy smile. And I definitely can’t pretend I’m not falling for the spunky eight year old kid that may or may not be his.
Yes, I admit it: Becoming enemies with your neighbor—the sexy sports star—is never a good idea.
But falling in love with him might be the worst idea of all…
AUTHOR’S NOTE: THE PLAY is a full-length, stand alone, enemies to lovers/next door neighbor sports romance with humor, heat, and a touch of suspense. Enjoy!

I loved this first book in the Chicago Nights series! It’s a standalone story, but a few characters from the Manhattan Nights series make their appearance as well. This is the story of Emily and Sevin.
Emily hates her noisy upstairs neighbour. But when she and Sevin meet in the elevator of their apartment building, there is immediate attraction between the two of them. It really is a great storyline and I loved Charlie!
Emily and Sevin are both strong characters. Emily is caring but holds back because she thinks she only cares about her career. Sevin thinks he can not care about anyone or anything. While Sevin may have been a better man recently, in the past he was a real bad boy. Their journey is sweet and snarky and fun. The build up is masterful. The character development is nice. The story is unique. The writing is good. I like Sawyer and Naomi and Ben. Kara threw me. Stephen is somewhat of a jerk, unintentionally of course. The story includes workplace relationship, drama, mystery and cuteness. Charlie adds dimension to the book by cuteness and all the feels. The feud between Sevin and Emily gives the story kick.

The great plot was well written and the characters were so well developed that as I turned each page the chemistry between the characters kept me totally hooked until the very last page!

It’s no surprise why I love this author’s writing — she just keeps getting better and better with each book she releases. This is the first standalone book in the new Chicago Nights Series and if you’ve read Natalie’s Manhattan Nights series, you’ll recognize Emily from being Violet’s assistant. I knew I was going to love Emily but I just didn’t know how much of a surprise she was going to be. This isn’t your typical enemies-to-lovers romance, but then again this author never writes “typical” stories. It’s so much more than that. I don’t want to ruin this read for anyone by giving too much away, so suffice it to say that there are quite a few surprises, lots of heat, crazy chemistry and two other “little” characters that will melt your heart. Another 5+ star read from my one-click author list! Can’t wait for Sawyer’s story!!
I liked this a lot. I absolutely adored Charlie and wished we got to enjoy a bit more of her, but she was such a great character! This was funny and sweet and occasionally a bit hot, all-around good stuff.
Loved this book except the F-word. Not everyone talks like that. It gets old!! Other than that it’s a great love story. Sevin Smith is an amazing professional baseball player that lives in the penthouse of a building. Emily lives in the same building just one floor under him. Emily has called the police several times about the disgusting loud noises she heres from the penthouse. She hates this Sevin guy, she doesn’t care how big and important of a professional athlete he is. Then one day they end up in the elevator together. Sevin doesn’t know who she is but Emily knows who he is and the law firm she works for just assigned her to represent Sevin in a paternity sued someone just filed and she wants a million dollars!! It’s very interesting when he finds out that Emily is the neighbor downstairs that has called the police on him many times and she is his attorney!! A great standalone with an HEA!!!!
Excellent love story for the summer! The baseball star with all kinds of walls around his heart, meets the uptight lawyer…who also happens to be his nasty neighbor! However, she just might be the only one to help break those walls down and get him out of a sticky situation.
Great characters and excellent world building. Didn’t keep me up all night to find out what happens next…but a fun read all the same!
On paper these our hero is living his best life. Sevin is one of the top ranked baseball players in the MLB. He was voted MVP, have any woman he wants and a nice penthouse apartment. All is great except his uptight neighbor who lives below him. She complains of noise and loud music, calling the cops all the time. Emily has her dream job but she is new. When her boss gives her primary on a new case to protect a new client. She is nervous and excited until she realizes it’s Sevin, her noisy upstairs neighbor. Fun, slow burn story with a cute kid and and wayward cat. Quick read with great characters.

The Play is the first novel in Natalie Wrye’s new series called Chicago Nights. It’s also a crossover from Manhattan’s Nights. The story, was fun, flirty, entertaining, enemies to lovers, and I really enjoyed it. The characters were genuine, I liked their back and forth banter, they kept me laughing, and I can’t forget the sparks between these two. I liked the secondary characters too. I can’t wait for Sawyer and Naomi’s story.
When you hate your neighbor before you even meet them and then have to work with them, it can be for a very fun and entertaining time. Well, for the reader of the story, at least. Emily and Sevin are smoking hot together and the tension just adds on to their chemistry. The story sucks you in and keeps you wanting to keep guessing how they will finally give in.

The Play is the first book in a new series by Natalie Wrye, but it is also a spin off so we already met the main characters in the Manhattan Nights series.
I was curious and excited to go visit Chicago and to know better Emily and Sevin.
Emily is a lawyer, and Sevin is a famous baseball player, they live in the same apartments building and they hate each other even before they meet in person because they are horrible neighbours.
But when life put them in the same team will they get over their dislike playing together in order to win the match?
Natalie Wrye writing sucked me in from the first page and it kept me captivated till the end, as it always happens with her books.
I recommend to read this enemies to lovers story so you can meet two more cute characters I didn’t talk about in this review but you can’t miss them.
