This is a new shifter for me. The book focuses on the meeting of the Platypus and her mates. There are adult love scenes so I wouldn’t recommend to a younger audience. I think the characters could have been fleshed out a little more. I liked Caleb, but didn’t care to much for the Alphs Eric, he seemed to be a jerk. Bryce seemed like he was just added as an afterthought so there would be three. April is the best character, but I wish we had seen more of her platypus in the story. If you like short shifter stories with adult situations you will like this book.
Platypus and Her Wolves is a companion novella to the Valentine Pride trilogy by L.A. Boruff and Laura Greenwood. Here we meet April and her wolves Bryce, Eric, and Caleb. If you are familiar with the Valentine Pride trilogy, the archetypes in those books are the same in this novella. Bryce is the Levon, Caleb is the Kerry, and Eric, the Alpha, or Cas. While April’s mates are wolves rather than cats, much of the relationship is the same except that these wolves are as fresh to relationships as April is; they are more than willing to commit and devote themselves, though.
You don’t have to read this novella, but I will assure you that the Pride books make a ton more sense if you do–because April shows up as Kerry’s mentee out of the blue, inexplicably, otherwise.

How often do you read about platypus shifters? Only in Laura Greenwoods world!
This is a cute short book.

This was a very short to the point book, it would have been a much better story if it had been longer. I do not know how the wolves knew she was their fated mate when they had never met. I guess she knew about fated mates from reading romance novels since she knew nothing else about shifters. The fact the book just ended and you are left wondering about things.
It was a cute story but it could have been better.
This book pulled me in and kept me entranced till the end. The feelings of love, hate, and pain coming out in waves making you want to cry while you read. This was such a beautiful book! I loved the characters’ wholesomeness!

A platypus shifter?! Rarer than unicorns!!
This was a nice, fun, quick-burn short read, based in the Valentine Pride universe.
The shifters on the mountain have been looking for lone shifters living amongst the human population, monitoring for strange web searches, to try and bring them back to the pride and their families, where they belong. One of these shifters is April. Her adoptive parents are unaware of her shifter capabilities, so she’s been trying hard to find others like her. When a pack of three male wolf shifters suddenly appear on her doorstep ready to give her all the answers she’s been looking for, plus turning out to be her fated mates, suddenly she’s not so sure if she’s ready to give up the human world that she’s lived in for so long.
This is quite an interesting story, with a platypus shifter! Well, I guess the paranormal universes allow for any type of shifter you may be able to dream of, but this is the first platypus that I’ve come across. Unusual animals, once believed by Victorian scientists to be a “fake”, like many other samples that had returned their way, this animal is unusual in more ways than one. And what I do love is that this story played upon that.
Quite a nice addition to the universe.
Final rating: – Really liked
The Platypus And Her Wolves by Laura Greenwood is an amazing story I had the privilege of reading and falling love with it. I loved reading about shifters this has three wolves and a platypus in it. I highly recommend this story to everyone who loves reading about shifters, fantasy and paranormal romances in their stories.

The Platypus and Her Wolves by Laura Greenwood and L. A. Boruff is reverse harem shifter romance. In this novella, April a college student is studying for her final exams when there is a knock at her dormitory room door. When she answers her door she meets three wolf shifters named Bryce, Caleb, and Eric. This is the beginning of a very entertaining forever mate story that I loved reading. The best part was the surprise ending that happened in the last paragraph. Any paranormal romance lover will love this novella as much as I do. The Platypus and Her Wolves is a sensual reverse harem romance.
Before reading this book I wasn’t so sure about the Platypus shifter, but it worked and I really enjoyed this book. I loved the characters April and Eric, Caleb and Bruce. The storyline is very well written. I recommend reading this book.

This is an original storyline and a quick fun read. When I noticed that this had a platypus shifter in it I had to get it. I mean how often do you read about a platypus shifter. I am so glad I decided to read this book because I loved how determined April was about finishing school. When she meets three wolf shifters all bets are off. Will she finish school or run off to mountains with the guys? Loved the ending!
This is a short story that is a different type of shifter. I liked that. We have April whos in college. WE have Caleb, Eric, and Bruce that want her. Will she give up what she wants? Will the Guys convince her that they know what’s best?

She’s a feisty fireball. Who won’t give up her dreams for any one. These three men from the mountains have their work cut out for them. She has a few surprises in store. A cute quick read.
Part of the Valentine Pride series a well written story that had me laughing as I read. Platypus shifter, April meets three wolf shifters Caleb, Eric and Bruce I enjoyed reading their story. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
What a delightfully funny and quirky quick read. Who would’ve come up with a platypus shifter? Well, I guess Laura Greenwood since she did once before, right? Anyway, this is about Amelia who thought she was human until she shifted for the first time. Then three men came knocking at her door to inform her they knew she was a shifter. Of course, if you’re into PNR then you know, the fated tingle shooting from their hands as they shook allowed the men to realize Amelia was their fated mate. Amelia didn’t have a clue. This one encounter will start all the fun and angst. I would recommend this book to anyone.
This is a cute and sexy story. Don’t expect the novel of the year. Do expect a young woman who insists on reaching her goal in spite of her men. Do expect some lighthearted moments between the sex scenes. Do understand there are hot sex scenes. I found myself smiling frequently while reading this book. I recommend this short read for an afternoon of escape from reality.

I loved that April was a platypus because I have never read a shifter book about one before. I liked that April was so set on finishing her education. I liked Caleb, Eric and Bryce. I felt like there were parts of this book that were too rushed. I also was left a little disappointed by the ending. I hope there is another book about these 4.
