Enjoy a fun, fish-out-of-water, opposites-attract romantic comedy adventure on the high seas, from a New York Times bestselling author! Captain Blackheart leads a simple life of roving the seas, wenching and treasure-hunting. He steers clear of romantic entanglements that could tie him to land. He shouldn’t have any trouble keeping his hands off the gently-bred lady he’s commissioned to abduct — … commissioned to abduct — except his cargo turns out to be feisty and passionate! She’d be a prize worth treasuring, if having her aboard didn’t jeopardize everything…
Clara Halton thought the worst loss she could suffer was to be stripped of her family. Then she meets Blackheart. Their attraction is ruinous…and irresistible. When he delivers her to his client like so much plunder, his mission is over — but hers has just begun. She’ll force him to acknowledge their connection, even if she must storm his ship to do it!

Great book. This book is part of a series but each is a complete story on its own. I enjoyed the brief visits by characters from the other books. These ‘tie-ins’ are beautifully woven into this story while not wasting pages to summarize another book.
I’ve been eager to read Captain Blackheart’s story, as well as Daphne’s mother Clara Halton’s, so I was thrilled to find The Pirate’s Tempting Stowaway featured those two. When Daphne’s prospective husband sends the pirate Captain Blackheart to retrieve the ailing Clara from America, he thinks he’s commissioned to bring a sweet grandmother-type woman back to England. Imagine his surprise to find the lovely Clara, who is clearly ill, but probably not dying of consumption as he was led to believe, threatening to shoot him. After convincing her to put the gun down, he brings her on board his ship where he has a hard time keeping his hands to himself and treating her as the cargo she is supposed to be. Once she’s delivered to her family, he thinks the mission is complete, but Clara seems to have other ideas, which leads to an adventure that may change both their lives forever. They were both fairly stubborn people, who had ideas of what their lives should be, so it didn’t seem as if they would ever be able to come to a compromise that would make them both happy. I was glad to see them wise, leading to a satisfying conclusion, which was just perfect.
Enjoyed reading this story.
Truest enjoyed this book. I love how they ‘made it work’ in the end.
I liked this book.
A spunky widow and a pirate — A fun read indeed.
The story every woman has daydreamed about sometime.
Turning every page to see what the characters do next. The finding of the pirates treasure was most entertaining writing in a long time.
As always with Erica Ridley you get caught up and want to know what happens next! Not a dull moment!
Loved it! Love all of your books! Read this in two nights. A good read makes me
Great story loved it
Good story but yukky sex.
Steel, aka pirate Captain Blackheart, is sent from England to pick up Clara in New England. His gentleman’s background and honor have his treating her as a lady and delivering her untouched to her family. But the experience of adventure leaves Clara unsatisfied with a land locked life and the mutual attraction makes their separation difficult for both Steele and Clara. Wonderful setting on ship and with the shipboard characters, enough of our hero and heroine’s families to give us flavor without distracting from the story. Can they find a way to be together and give Clara the roots she needs while letting them have the adventures they both crave?
Ms. Ridley has proven herself to be very comfortable with her stories based during regency era! In this one, she has covered issues like contagious disease, misconceptions, travel between continents, challenges facing a widow and of course pirates all in a romance novel!
Very enjoyable!
Loved all the stories in this series.
I loved that these were two older characters that were able to find love at last. For the to believe in each other and still keep their own identity was great. Also, I love her adventurous spirit.
Another great read
Wonderful. Exciting & Romantic
Clara & Gregory “Blackheart’s” Journey to HEA was Absolutely Wonderful & Romantic.
I only wished it was a full Novel instead of a Novella.
Loved it
I was glued to this story from page one and couldn’t put it down! There is an instant attraction between them that can’t be denied no matter how hard they try they can’t stay away from each other. The moment he delivered her to her family and left made my heart hurt because there was something special between them. I loved when she decided to board the ship and hide because I didn’t know what his reaction would be and it was a total surprise!
She arrived back on the ship in time for a treasure hunt full of surprises and for them both to give in. I needed a fan when they couldn’t hold back anymore. Neither one is willing to give up their way of life for the other yet, but love won’t let them say goodbye that easily.
Clara believed she was dying and sent her daughter away to keep her safe and was surprised when a handsome stranger says he’s been sent to get her. I loved her from the start because she wasn’t anything like you’d expect and was ready to defend herself. She is one of the feistiest women and doesn’t hold back about anything.
Gregory tries to put up a hard front, but those that know him know he has a big heart. He couldn’t deny that he wanted her even when she drove him mad by sneaking on the ship and not staying put. I loved him right away because he knew she needed help and he wasn’t going to let her die.
I love that both are a bit older and know what they are getting into.
