PIRATE? SEA WITCH? REBEL? SPOILED BRAT?
I have been waiting patiently for this book to come out and I definitely wasn’t disappointed. I just wish I could give it more than 5-stars. Ms. Marie Hall has spun an amazing nautical tale of a Royal Navy Captain and the daughter of a Pirate. The story will give new meanings to nautical terms with all the double entendre. There is an amazing cast of characters that all play a part, and you need to batten down the hatches as you ride the ocean on this journey of love, hate, desire, and revenge.
How far will a man go to see to her happiness? Well, for the Commodore, it will include a kidnapping and making demands. Not for ransom, but for a forced marriage between Captain Devon Winthrop and his daughter, Mia. As extra leverage, he will hold mean of the peerage, and their lives will be on the line. Has he picked the right man for his willful girl? It sure appears that way.
Mia is no shrinking violet. She is the captain of her own ships, can read the sea better than any man, and isn’t afraid of any challenge. But she sure has no plans of marriage, and definitely not to a man of the Royal Navy. The man she calls Papa will have other plans for her because he has her best interest at heart, he has found her a husband.
Captain Devin Winthrop has been in the Royal Navy for so many years that he is actually planning his retirement in the next few years. He hasn’t had time for thoughts of marriage, and won’t for a few more years. Or at least that was his plan until the Commodore decided for him. Now he finds himself with a wife, and that will be the end of his military career at sea. But how can he explain a pirate for a wife?
The plot will have a forced marriage between Devin and Mia. It will not be an easy union for either of them, especially when it was neither one’s choice. With two very strong-willed, independent people, both in charge of a ship, it will become a battle of wills. Too many assumptions will lead to hurt, and for every two steps forward, he seems to take one step back.
“The ship could only have one captain, and it wasn’t going to be a pirate captain.”
Devin seems to put his foot in his mouth, and even with all the help she has provided, he cuts her down one time too many, and it will cause so much dissension between them, and affect the crew of the Iron Rose. Her tenacity and spirit will make a difference. But when he tells her she is not part of the crew, her will to continue wanes. How far will she go to escape him and his dictates? How will it affect the crew and will they lose respect for him or for her?
“Beat her until she knows she’ll never just be a part of the crew. Until she understands fully she’s the very heart of it.”
The chemistry between Devin and Mia sizzles on the pages. Together their desires for each other include pain with pleasure, BDSM, plenty of exploration, and she proves she can be naughty and nice, as a lady, a pirate, or his whore. The story has explicit and erotic scenes along with multiple spankings.
“I’m a lucky man. Lucy to come to the sea, lucky to live well and safe on the waters and now to have you as my wife. “
