Miss Kitty Wyverne was abducted by a fortune hunter but she managed to escape. Kitty hides herself in a cart but is discovered by Declan Kelly, who is the captain of his own ship. Kitty explains to him what has happened to her & convinces him to get her back to her home. Being an honorable gentleman, Declan agrees to get her to safety. He takes her to his cabin on the ship & soon they find they are attracted to one another but Declan knows she is not for him – he is a pirate (a lousy one) & a captain of a ship (a good one) & can offer nothing to her.
The couple is met with danger, storms, capsized ships, crashes in to rocks, mutiny, attempted murder & that is just to get to the real problem of evil men selling women & children. How will the survive all this mayhem? I highly recommend this “short” but entertaining book. I highly recommend this read to all you pirate lovers!
Kitty was not having the best of days but at least it seemed she had found someone that would help her get back home! First escaping a terrible man who had kidnapped her and was trying to force her to marry him. Then escaping and then hiding away in a cart, only to be found by a handsome pirate. Exhibit 1. The cover. Yes, swoon worthy I would say!
Declan Kelly was trying to go unnoticed himself and when he found a ragged young lady in his cart, he agreed to help her return home if she helped him with something in return. Did she know how to flirt?
But oh, the sparks do fly, at least for Declan at first when he knew he was in trouble. “And as always, a woman was at the root of it.”
Pure adventure. By sea with a crew who might just hold her for ransom to her father. Or she might just get seduced what would helping the pirate entale?
Nothing is better than a book in the Pirates of Britannia series along with being written by the fabulous Chasity Bowlin. Prepare to turn the first page and not stop until the end!!
Miss Kitty Wyverne had quite a day. First, she is kidnapped by a fortune hunter who decided to force her into marriage for her fortune and when she escapes; finds herself hidden in a wagon among crates and barrels. She then discovers that the wagon is being driven to the Port of Ellesmere by a notorious pirate. Nothing had gone right for her so far; her only hope was that the rest of the day got better. Declan Kelly was handsome, charming and known as a pirate, even if he thought of himself as more of a privateer or at times just a sailor. He loved the sea and was shocked to find a passenger among his spoils. What was he to do with her? After Kitty explains her problem, Declan feels that he has struck gold and will take her back to Bath, her home. However, even the best of plans can change when a mutiny, deadly storms and the Sweet Colleen crashes into rocks; but the growing attraction between them is of greater concern. Chasity Bowlin has written a true pirate adventure that keeps you reading. Thank you, Chasity.

My review :
What a failed pirate to do with a running away kidnapped bride…
It has been a while since my last read by Mrs Chasity Bowlin, I liked her “The Beast Of Bath”.
This novella is fast paced and action packed, as everything is settled in a few days.
Kitty has been told her whole life she more than a disappointment to her father’s, she is a failure as she survived her ordeal but was left crippled.
It is even a wonder that under the verbal abuses of her father, she is still able to stand for herself, many would have shrunk to nothing.
Declan is no pirate for sure, he is too soft-hearted to cause willingly harm to others. He is a protector but no attacker.
So he is lucky his road crossed with Kitty, as she is his salvation and a new future for himself.
In all, it was a short entertaining read loaded with steamy moments, betrayals, and witty banters.
4 stars.

Declan Kelly is a pirate and a wanted man, so he’s disguised himself to get out of town. The last thing he needs is a stowaway in his cart.
Miss Kitty Wyverne has managed to escape the man who abducted her, now she needs to find her way home at the other end of the country.
Our hero might be a good sailor but he’s a very poor pirate. He has already got some of his crew to rescue from prison. Our heroine has spent her life buried in her books. The only men to ever show an interest just want her inheritance. It’s past time for her to stand up for herself.
A very exciting story and well worth the five stars even though it’s not a very fat book. I fell in love with the characters on the first page. I would have liked a little more detail, like what happened to the money.
This book does link to a series but easily read on it’s own.
I loved it.
Declan discovers a stowaway in his wagon and when she asked for his help he agrees to help her. Kitty is hiding from a man who abducted and wanted nothing but her fortune. Having escaped one man and has been caught by another hiding in his wagon and trying to get home. Kitty agrees to help Declan in Exchange he will see her safely home. After boarding his ship one of the men discover who Kitty actually is and Declan will have to fight for both there lives. I have always enjoyed reading Chastity Bowlin’s books and I enjoyed this one to. Both characters were imperfect and I loved that. This is a quick read and very enjoyable, definitely recommend reading it!
