It’s such a sweet story. I loved it. Plus Jarek was not as dense as his brothers. Exciting and it’s full of humor too. I loved the last chapter. So cute. That’s all the brothers right? I received a complimentary review copy of the book and I am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
This book centers on Jarek, the last bachelor of the five Var princes. Jarek and his crew of space ‘pirates’ are on a rescue mission to rescue Rick, one of the crew members. Rick has been kidnapped, and they have reason to believe he’s being held captive in a Lintian jade mine by drug dealers and they fear for his life. While searching for the location of the mines, the crew crosses paths with a beautiful, petite woman who captures Jarek’s full attention.
The woman is Princess Zhang Mei, youngest daughter of Emperor Zhang. She has been given a prophecy by the spirit of her great-grandmother, Zhang An. Because of this prophecy, she believes she is fated to marry Prince Lok, of the Song Dynasty, for political reasons.. Mei is not meek or mild and wants adventure, but knows her duty to her family and her people and is resigning herself to her fate. After visiting Prince Lok she gets an opportunity to quench her thirst for adventure and jumps at the chance, without thinking it through. What follows is the story of the growing attraction between her and the pirate prince, woven in with the fear of retaliation by Mei’s family and the tense rescue plans to save Rick. I won’t say more for fear of spoiling the story, but if you like steamy fantasy with adventure, humor, and engaging characters, with a sweet ‘ahhh’ moment at the end, than take a look at this book!
This book was quite the adventure. Mei is convinced her ancestors’ foretelling of her fate means her future will be marrying Prince Soon, and when she sees the chance to have one last adventure with the handsome space pirate she acts.
Prince Jarek is immediately attracted to the diminutive woman he mistakenly thinks is a nobleman’s concubine. When she flings herself at him during a skirmish at the docks, he tosses her to one of his crew to carry over his shoulder onto his spaceship. The woman is feisty and secretive about who and what she is. He assigns her to be there ship’s cook.
These two characters have a passionate connection and their hearts are quickly involved. Jarek keeps his identity as a Prince a secret from MEI until he tries to convince her to stay with him.
The adventure takes a few unexpected turns as Jarek, Mei and his crew seek to rescue fellow crew member Rick from drug runners.
I enjoyed this book and the ending was fantastic.

A great final story to the Lords of the Var series where Jarek finds his own Princess in Mei. Their story takes them on a journey which all starts with a prophecy by her great grandmother’s spirit of a baby and a husband for Mei, but the details are vague and Mei believes her fate is with a different man and she’s determined to fulfill her duty to her family and people even if doing so breaks her heart and the heart of the man she loves.

Like they say, all good things must come to an end & here it is for The Var series. However Michelle M Pillow has done it justice. I will not be giving anything away due to the book being the series ending.
This is Jarek’s story about his leaving the bachelor ranks to Mei. It has everything but the kitchen sink. *wink* There is a kidnapping, a ghost with a doozie of a prophesy, action, adventure, drama, very sexy scenes and naturally, hard-core love.
This & ALL the Var series books are thoroughly recommended. Michelle M Pillow is a master at her craft and you won’t be disappointed
I really enjoyed this book. It’s my favorite in the series so far. Great world building. Mei was my favorite character. This story was an adventure. It had action, suspense, and humor. A rescue mission goes wrong when a pirate prince accidentally kidnaps a woman when he mistakenly thinks she is trying to escape, and then learns she is a princess. A fun read. 5 stars.
I love this series and this book did not disappointed me!
Amazing story with great chemistry between the characters. it’s a sexy, fast read perfect for hot coco or wine night in.
This author is actually one of my favorite authors. I have found myself recently devouring every book from her that I can get. This is her Lords of the Var series. This is a side world that’s in her Qurilixen World. The lords of the Var are shifters, cat shifters. Most of them do tend to be very arrogant but when they meet their mate everything changes. This is the story of Prince Jarek Who spends most of his time being a space pirate, yes think guardians of the galaxy if you need to. The female lead is Princess Mei. She has recently learned that she was going to be forced into a marriage she wanted. She doesn’t want to disgrace her family so she is willing to go along with their plans but not until she has one last adventure before she stuck in a life that she will hate. Cat shifters don’t believe in love. But when he accidentally kidnapped her he finds that he has a bit more off than he can chew. Sparks fly because she has already decided that she wants him to be her last little adventure. The problem is can he give her up? I may have had some problems with the female lead at first but she grew on me as I read the story.
Mei has been given a glimpse of her future and it is not to her liking. She is most definitely not happy with the details she has been given. Most especially when she believes that it will be with Song Lok, the prince of the neighbouring kingdom that her family would like her to forge a connection with. Thing is though seers like to give you the bare bones of things, they don’t give you all the information which leads things open to interpretation meaning you still end you where you are meant to be just not necessarily how you saw it. That is completely what happens to Mei. She sees Jarek and his crew in a compromising situation and doesn’t quite get the right end of the stick. She steps in and ends up with Jarek on his ship. And so begins the dance between them! Jarek is very loyal and doesn’t give up on those he cares for, case in point his pilot who was drugged and who he was trying to help escape when Mei came upon them. He made a split second decision which means he is now stuck with the woman and he is not sure if he should throw her overboard or kiss her. Their banter is great and you really get a feel for the characters. They are so engaging!
Another wonderful book, the storyline is entertaining and is filled with action and adventure. The interaction and chemistry between the characters is wonderful. I can’t wait for more from this author. I received this book , as a FREE ARC copy to read and I voluntarily leave this review.

Princes Mei has always wanted to see what was beyond the palace walls and the planet. But as the youngest princess of the Mutong Empire, she has never been allowed any freedom. When her dead great grandmother predicts that she will marry the first foreign man of royal blood whose path she crossed and that she would be pregnant with his child soon, she automatically assumes it is Prince Lok, from their neighboring kingdom, the Singhai Empire. She is scheduled to attend dinner at their palace with her brother that night. She can’t stand Lok on sight and prays that her great grandmother’s prediction is wrong. When she and her brother leave to go home, there is a disturbance at the palace gates where they have just left. Two women are fleeing and being taken onto a spaceship. Mei assumes that they are kidnapping the women and goes to fight, despite her brothers orders to stay on the ship. She crashed into one of the men who picks her up and jumps on the ship just as they take off. Well, she wanted space travel, but this wasn’t exactly how she was expecting it to happen.
Jarek, Var Prince of Qurilixen, has landed on the planet Lintian to rescue their pilot Rick, who was taken prisoner by intergalactic drug traders. Supposedly he is being held in the purple jade mines on the planet. Two of his crew sneak into the palace disguised as women to try and find a map telling them where the mines are. Once they find the map, they try to leave but are seen and must make a hasty exit! When a ball of furious female crashes into him, he assumes she is trying to excape the man she was following. Jarek assumed she was his concubine. But being the gentlemen he is he can’t leave her behind when she succeeded in escaping her master! Boy was he wrong!
What follows is hilarious and touching. Jarek and Mei dance around each other, neither one telling the truth, until Mei sees the map they stole from the Singhai. They don’t know what they have, but she does, and it isn’t good for her people.
A delightful book and the last Var Prince to meet his fated mate! Don’t miss it!

4.5 stars – wonderfully romantic – I’m addicted & don’t want series to end
POV: dual
HUMOR: yes!
F BOMBS: no
STANDALONE: yes
NEW AUTHOR FOR ME: no
POSSIBLE TRIGGERS: mentions drugs, dead ancestor’s spirit
CHARACTERS: Princess Mei and Prince Jarek
OVERALL: highly recommend – will continue to read author’s other works & hope you will too
PROS:
1. Asian FMC skilled in martial arts, very cool!
2. FMC and MMC had supportive, loving families
3. The steamy sexy times were hot, hot, HOT
4. Funny! Had a few spit takes. Keep towels nearby – your walls, children, and pets will thank you.
CONS:
1. Continually called her “fea” as a Var term of endearment, but in Spanish it means ugly.
2. One inconsistency
3. The romance was so fabulous, I’m addicted
NOTEWORTHY:
1. Their obvious desire for each other gave their relationship a genuine quality to it.
2. The last chapter when the Var family all gets together – such a sweet scene to end this series.
3. Melt-my-heart quotes:
-“I don’t want to go, Mei. I want to be with you forever. I will be your servant just to be near you…”
-“You would give up space for me? she sniffed. “I would give up eternity for you, my love…”

Having four other siblings find their mate before him may have softened him a bit, but Jarek didn’t put up much fight against Mai’s charms. The storytelling is great drawing us onto The Conqueror as if we could really be in this world. The romance is heartfelt, their chemistry electrifying, the witty banter endearing them to us that much more. I loved these characters their adventure was fun and thrilling, this story was an absolute blast.

Jarek & Mei
One of his crew got himself captured and they never leave a man (or woman) behind. During their first rescue attempt they “rescue” a lovely woman who didn’t want to be rescued. Finding out too late who she is and what she was doing, along with a damaged ship, she’s going with them for now at least.
He watched his brothers all swear they’d never take just one woman forever, he’d never fall as they did–but man is she tempting. She’s a tiny, gorgeous, bundle of bravery, sass, and he can’t resist her. The crew adores her. How’s he supposed to fight that?
She’s never wanted a man so much. Yet, fate has set her life path. Maybe just a little free time first. They don’t really need to know everything.
When both of them find resistance is futile, the crew is all for her, and his seer sees a different path the battle is even harder. Add a cup of intrigue and family danger, oh yeah, and the crew member they have yet to rescue, it’s the preverbal page-turner. You’ll love all the characters and an ending that will make you smile maybe even laugh meeting some old or maybe new friends.
So poor Rick gets the crew into trouble when he takes off with a woman and goes missing. The crew as a family go to rescue him only they encounter Zhang Mei, youngest princess of the Zhang Dynasty. She and Jarek have a whirlwind courtship and a very interesting meeting with both family groups. Amusing and sweet.
The final prince finds his match in a fiesty woman that leads him and his crew on a wild adventure searching for a kidnapped friend, and Ricks smart remarks cause a spirit to curse the crew that sends them into a new adventure and series.

This was another simply splendid, entertaining read I thoroughly enjoyed
Every one of the Var series have been a simply wonderful read and I have thoroughly enjoyed them and this was just as entertaining. The Pirate Prince was the final book in the Var bothers series and was a very appropriate way of wrapping up the series.
Jarek and his crew are looking for their lost pilot and they have to visit a planet where he is being held prisoner, the Princess of this planet is Mei and she is promised to marry and produce an ayre for the Royal selected for her.
Jarek and his crew pick up the Princess Mei and her brother and all hell breaks loose, she leaps into the arms of Jarek and the realise that they are well suited and her expectations begin to change regarding love and loyalty.
Read this amazing story and you will most definitely have read a simply wonderful book and series of books.
I assure you that you will love every moment of this book it is simply a fantastic read.
