Couldn’t put it down!
One of the very best novels I’ve ever read.
I loved the history in this book! The amount of research must have been monumental! This is a masterpiece.
This is the story of many facets of medieval life woven around the building of a cathedral in the fictional town of Kingsbridge. We see the interactions in the lives of the highborn, lowborn and those in between as the cathedral project is conceived and carried out with the backdrop of 12th century England. Follett brings to life fascinating characters with details of medieval life in a believable story that makes it hard to put the book down.
Was surprised how much I enjoyed this story. I had only read Follet’s other genre of books and loved them. This one was so interesting. It kept me interested from start to finish!
I recently reread this and World Without End. Both books are so good.
