Literally could not put it down. Kept thinking I’d just read one more chapter, and then it was dawn.
Ken Follett is a master story teller. I read the whole series. Great books!
An all time favorite
This book was so interesting. It’s a long book and I was upset when I finished..I was invested in the characters.disnt want it to end. The lifestyle in the 16th century was brutal and how tom builder progressed and morphed to fulfill his dreams of a beautiful cathedral was fascinating. A wonderful book. I’ve read it twice. Idont ever do that.
My favorite book by Ken Follett. Has everything a good book should and more.
I thought it was terribly written
One of the best books ever written. Describes an era of history as if you were living it.
This is one of my favorite books ever. I was sorry there were no more pages when i came to the last page. I read it a few years ago and I still remember the characters.
One of my favs through the years. Love historical fiction.
It is a very long book but very well written.
Long but entertaining to the end.
One of my all time favorites.
Not a breif read, but for those inclined to historical novels, this is a formidable but good read.
One of my favorite reads…story has stayed with me although I read the book a number of years ago. I cannot imagine how the wonderful churches were constructed so many years ago with the crude tools available at the time.
Learned a lot about history in novel form.
Want to know about the construction of the great Gothic cathedrals, and those who built them? This book is for you. It’s a world not enough people know about: Fascinating.
This was a good book and depicted the attitudes of the times well. However, I saw a movie called “World Without End” carrying the same types of characters and plot line in the same English setting of the period.
One of the finest books I’ve ever read. Great epic novel , very historically educational. Hated it to end.
Wonderful read
Very long (909+ pages!) but worth reading. History, action, great characters, great story.
