Outstanding book !
One of my personal all time favorite books. I couldn’t wait to visit Salisbury Cathedral and explore it in person to see what inspired the book. The Cathedral and Salisbury itself did not disappoint. This book makes you feel as though you are there witnessing the building of the Cathedral and it’s impact on the lives of the craftsmen.
The best of the best. In the top three of my lifetime favorites. Follett never lets me down. It would be a ten star if I could.
Wonderful! I read it for book club and we all loved it.
A must read!
I had the series of books for a while before I started reading them, and man what a surprise once I started! I was thoroughly engaged through each book, and was sad when each one ended. Totally that there were only 3 in the series! Very well written, the characters are very well written as is the era/century they are depicting. So enjoyable I bought this author’s other series regarding WWII (also mesmerizing)
A classic piece of literature, this book is slow to read but a great piece of historical fiction.
One of the best books ever written imho.
First book in the “Kingsbridge Series” I loved them all. Wonderful look into another time with great characters that draw you into their lives and time.
The historical fiction characters are great, and the Century Trilogy books are also excellent reads.
Great read Hard to put down The whole series is great
An informative, insightful, easy read. Gives insight into Middle Age society and human nature as well!
one of the first books I read by K. Follett
My favorite novel of all time! Truly an epic tale!
A beautifully written saga that makes you want to keep reading.
One of my all time favorite books
Enjoyed itt
A dull topic turned into an amazing novel full of complex characters, (some right out of history), with historical facts used to build the lives of the mostly fictional characters.
I’ve never been a fan of architecture but this work had me engrossed in the methods and challenges of building a grand cathedral, the craftsmen involved in the actual work and the monk who raised the money to take it to its completion.
That was a simplistic explanation of a wonderfully rich book filled with royalty, monks, bishops, wars, greed, intrigue & and more backstabbing than a presidential election.
A sweeping saga and great historical fiction.
Ive been reading for a long time and this hands down is the best book ive ever read.Looking forward to Mr. Follet putting out a prequel this Sept.
