Finally Iris gave two of my favorite characters of all times their happy ending!!! So! Excited! I have loved both Jane eve’s adopted daughter and Seth Caleb the dangerous and sexy mercenary for hire who has the ability to not only control a person’s blood flow and kill with just one touch but who has the power to persuade anyone to do just about anything he wants them to do. Since his first introduction in Blood Game I have been so intrigued by him and when he and jane meant you can see the instant attraction. Jane can’t help how Seth makes her feel but she has kept him at arm’s length for so long,but when Luca a sick sonofabitch leaves a dead guard’s blood painted in a cross with Jane’s picture in the middle at Macduff’s castle a twisted game of cat and mouse has Seth and jane tracking down this psycho monster before he can kill anyone else. The chemistry between Jane and seth is sensual dance with both of them holding nothing back. I have loved and read all of Iris Johansen’s books!! She is one of my fave author’s of all time. With awesome storylines and fabulous characters its no wonder that after 30 consecutive best sellers she’s still one of the best voices of thriller and suspense! Her villians are truly evil and Luca and his second in command Alberto are pure psychotic killers who enjoy hurting others. Also eve and joe are back along with their 10 year son Michael who plays a big role in this book. Michael has always been very special from the time he could talk,like his mother he has special gifts and all though both eve and joe have tried to keep a lid on his talents so that he could have a normal childhood and keep him safe he is the key to finding the little boy that luca is using to get Jane to do what he wants. It’s about time these two got together and it only took threat of death! Caleb has been a favorite character of mine since he was introduced in the series. I have never been a fan of Jane, but ya can’t have everything. This book was so good, I couldn’t put it down. I’m glad Lisa is more involved. This is full of action. The storyline in super interesting and it’s well written.
I don’t mind Iris Johansen’s thrillers. They’re quite good. And this thriller was pretty good too with a bit of supernatural elements thrown in for good mix.
Really good thriller from Johansen. I just love this family with all their trials and tribulations. Glad Jane came to her senses and Caleb is a smarter man. Looking forward to reading the next installment of this series.
I was so happy to see Jane MacGuire and Seth Cabel get their own book! I’ve read a number of books in the Eve Duncan series and have been intrigued whenever Seth made an appearance.
The story starts with the theft of a centuries old painting of Fiona McDuff at the Earl of MacDuff’s Run, with a bloody cross and a photo of Jane MacGuire replacing the painting. This is the introduction of Stefano Luca, a brilliant, psychotic villain who is fascinated with Jane MaGuire, who resembles Fiona McDuff.
Jane is with her young brother at an archaeological dig at a castle in Wales. A group of kids are spending part of their summer at the dig. Jane and Michael’s parents, Eve and Quinn, are working in Africa and Jane is watching over Michael in their absence. This is where Michael’s psychic abilities start to shine as he knows something has happened that affects Jane. I’m really looking forward to seeing him reach his potential in later stories. Right now, he is only ten years old.
I really enjoyed watching Jane and Seth struggle with their relationship, and Luca was a worthy opponent. Luca has spent years watching Jane and Seth and working out his step by step plan to reach his goals. There was a lot of action, mystery and a touch of the supernatural with Michael and Seth’s abilities. Even Jane has a vision that appears in her art. But the excitement is Jane and Seth trying keep ahead of Luca’s next move.

Iris johansen seldom disappoints, and this book lives up to my standards in regards to entertainment value. I look forward to every new book that she writes because she brings some of the same strong characters back over and over again.
I read all the Eve Duncan series and the spin off characters. Books always keep you guessing and on the edge of your seat.
Iris Johansen is a fabulous Author that I cant get enough of!!!her books are incredible lots of action suspense and love!!!her newest the persuasion is stunning!!!she could put out a book every week and is still be jumping up and down with excitement!!!

Oh my , yes. This is everything I’ve been waiting for since Seth Caleb came onto the scene. He’s my favorite character and I loved him and Jane having a book revolves around them like this. I can never get enough of these two star crossed lovers. Will they make it, won’t they? Amazing characters we love, an exciting and engaging and suspenseful storyline. So much awesomeness.
I wish I could give this 4.5 stars! I love the characters of Jane and Caleb and love how the author is exploring Michael’s character and his special talents. There is always a thriller aspect mixed in with family, love and relationships. All of Iris’ stories are just so good and I enjoy every one of them and never want them to end!
I am a huge Eve Duncan fan, but this book is her daughter, Jane’s, story. It is a story that I’ve been waiting for. I have been craving more about this amazing girl, who had a rough start in life until she found an amazing family to love and protect her. Her talents as an artist have been bragged about in past books, her love of Michael (her brother) has never been in doubt, and her attraction to Seth has been intriguing. Persuasion is THE book that I have been waiting for.
Jane has no idea that she has been being watched from afar by a mad man for quite some time. In The Persuasion she finds out and that mad man decides that it is time to take steps towards making Jane his. Of course, Seth must come riding in to keep her safe. The relationship between Seth and Jane is so intense. With their unique histories, their tough lives, and their fears of being hurt it cannot be easy. All of that makes their relationship their own. They know how much they can let each other in and how much they can allow themselves to love. Their relationship is so strong, so true, and so real that it is one of my favorites throughout this series.
The fact that there is a mad man in this story brings in Eve and Joe, who are characters that must appear in each book in this series. In true Eve and Joe style they come to show their love for both Michael and Jane. They know that their children are unique and must not be taken for granted. They let their children shine in their own talents and nurture them in ways that are special for each of them. Eve and Joe are amazing parents, wonderful protectors, and shining examples of what a family should be.
Persuasion is part of the Eve Duncan series, which is a wonderful series. The wonderful part is that you can pick up any book in the series and start reading. Each book has its own story, it’s own ending, and is not contingent on stories that were told before it. Some of the storylines carry over but Iris Johansen does an amazing job of giving enough back story to keep new and old readers up to date on what is happening.

I have been waiting for this book for what feels like forever. I don’t know why, but I love Seth Caleb and Jane together so much that it might be more than Eve and Joe. This series is one that never gets old for me. I love how new characters get introduced and you just know there will be spin offs and as the characters grow older, you will see more and more of them. I’m glad Eve and Joe are still highlighted as well, the two of them work so well together and they have my heart. I do like the bits of paranormal that are thrown into the mix too, it makes it all the more interesting. This is one series I will continue to read, no matter what.
