I absolutely LOVE Beck & Regina!!
Regina is a beautiful, shy woman working in mainly a male field. When she finds out that her boyfriend of four years is cheating on her she decides it’s time for a change. Little did she know the change she really needed was a sexy, tattooed Beck.
Beck may seem like a dangerous giant but he has a heart of gold. Life has definitely thrown him a few curveballs but he has learned a lot from them. When he walks into the local bar one night after work his life takes another turn, except this time it’s for the good.
This was such a good read I was hooked and ended up reading it in one sitting. It is so well written and Regina and Beck were just great together they had tons of chemistry. A super but emotional read I would recommend it to all
Wow, what a roller coaster. Regina and Beck are so hot. The fire between them from the start is sexy! I am in love with them! I really love how he was able to bring her out of her shell or chrysalis as he put it. He gave her courage to be fierce and she gave him a reason to smile. They are two mentally f***ed individuals who work best together! I absolutely love this story!!
Regina is a salesman for a sex toy company. Even better than that, she is the top salesman for the company. Then her good friend takes her boyfriend away from her and tells her about it through an email at work. Who needs an enemy when you have a friend like that, right? This all leads to her meeting Beck, who is a tattoo genius. This was a really good story about heartbreak, love, romance, and did I mention the heartbreak? Yeah, the pain will break your heart. Her life is a big roller coaster and this book will have your emotions riding along with her. You will even need the box of Kleenex a couple of times. I know I did, anyway. It’s such a great story, that I highly recommend it.
A good read
I really enjoyed this book.I was unsure if I would enjoy it or not When I first started it because it did not immediately grip me. But, slowly and surely I started to like the characters.
Only issue I have is that I felt like a missed a big chunk of the story, even re-read it to make sure, but there are no missing part and it confused the hell out of me. The story is a good one,the chat waters are great but, the last 30-40% on the book felt rushed and it really took away a bit the enjoyment for me. I did still love the characters.
Permanence of Pain is a sweet story of finding out just how strong you are on the road to discovering yourself. Regina loses her boyfriend to a friend, who just also happens to be a client. Talk about awkward! But meeting Beck realizes she doesn’t have to live the same old life. But of course things aren’t that simple. There were some really good scenes in this story. WIthout giving anything away, all I can say you will cheer during the trade show and cry at school. Want to know what I’m talking about? You’ll just have to read it.
I am in awe of this story. Beautifully written. It moved me so much. There were so many feelings expressed that I could relate to. Haven’t we all had our hearts broken and then someone having to come next to try to put it back together? Regina and Beck, I don’t have the words to explain how I feel about them. I have a new favorite book couple to add to my list of those I’ll think about for quite some time. This book made me smile, cry, ache, swoon, want to yell & fan myself from the steamy scenes. I wholeheartedly recommend this book and will definitely be looking for more to read from Desiree. I’ll be reading this one again, I promise that. Huge props to a fellow Ohioan for telling a fantastic story.
If you’ll looking for a book that will suck you in and keep you reading until the end, The Permanence of Pain is that book. I loved how Regina decides to take her life back after a break-up, that she really didn’t see coming. While out to dinner, her ex and his new thing arrive. She finishes and leaves and goes to bar where she meets Beck and the sparks fly. The journey that Beck and Regina experience will bring tears to your eyes, but it is a well written book. No spoilers, so grab your copy and fall in love with the man that is Beck! I enjoyed this book so much, that I didn’t want it to end.
I am not sure where to start with this book… Ok I read this in a few hours, it’s a quick read and it’s well written which also makes it an easy read. I really loved this book. I loved the characters, I relate to Regina (maybe more than I am comfortable with) and Beck is the tattoo philosopher. The story is well balanced, sometimes funny, sometimes serious, and sometimes steamy. Regina is mid 30 sales woman for sex toys. She doesn’t really think about her life or the kind of woman she is until her world is turned upside down when she finds out her boyfriend of 4 years is cheating on her with her friend. Her journey to find herself again and really become the woman she wants to be is not easy. Her co-workers are sometimes jerks, she keeps running into her ex and her bed is forever soiled with the possibilities of her boyfriend’s infidelities. On her way to become stronger she meets Beck. They connect immediately, but both have shadows from their past making their fresh relationship complicated. This book really delves into the pain that most people encounter at some point in their lives and how it shapes us, for good or for bad. Watching Regina really fall apart is difficult, watching her get support from not only Beck, but from some other almost unexpected places is reassuring. Falling apart is only bad when you don’t put the pieces back together in a way that makes you stronger. This book was not something I normally wouldn’t have picked up, but I did, and I am glad I did.
Standalone book? ( I really hope not because I would love to read more about the charachters in this series )
Regina is hardworking, dedicated and loyal.
Her boyfriend of four years Richard is not
Her best friend, and client cindy is not.
Her work colleagues and boss are not
Following the reveal of Richard and cindy’s affair Regina focuses on working her was up from rock bottom by starting with an improving date with herself. Where after accidentally chugging someone else’s beer, she meets Beck.
What can I say about Beck….dayummmm… I like Beck.
The fact that Regina has self doubts, is cautious with a job she hates but excelled at, makes assumptions and mistakes but focuses on the reparation of those is what made her more human. because at the end of the day it’s mistakes that make us humans…. what we do once we realised we’ve made mistakes ( if we ever realise ) is what makes us an asshole or not. Regina could have been my sister, my friend even a work colleague…..
This is a fantastic story, I really enjoyed the build up and explosive chemistry between Beck and Regina. It left me wanting more. I was in happy book groove land and then it finished! BOOO!.
I normally am not a contemporary romance reader, but this book hit me right in the feels and I couldn’t help rooting for the characters. Desiree Lafawn takes you in. An emotional roller coaster of a ride through one woman’s redemption.
The writing was perfect and really well done. It has all the elements that made it progressed past my expectations an exceptional read.
