I really enjoyed this book! The fact that it takes place near me made it all the more enjoyable. The author really captured the feel of the town and people of the area.

I have read all of Mark’s books and can’t get enough of the characters and stories. This book you can’t put down as you can’t wait to find out what will happen next and you can’t guess the ending. Great fantastic book.

I must admit that I’d never heard of this title before reading it. Being from Texas, very familiar with the Hill Country and people born, bred, educated, predjudiced, loving and hating like everyone in The Perk, it was like coming home. Very easy to read and enjoy. I’d recommend this book and author to anyone.

I thought this was a great book. I loved the various characters and didn’t want to put the book down. I liked that the main character had to deal with real life dilemmas that were not easily tied up in a bow. I have read several of this author’s books and plan to read them all. Loved the story, the writing, and even the little bits of humor.
