Set in an expat community in Germany, the author creates believable characters in this well-written psychological thriller. At first the reader is caught up in the every day tedium of life, but it soon becomes apparent that people are not all that they first appear to be & tension rises to a deadly climax. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed this fictional work, although I did manage to work out who the killer was several chapters before the end.

Dark, claustrophobic and suffused with a creeping sense of menace, The Perfect Neighbours builds to a shocking climax. I thoroughly enjoyed it.
It was very good and surprising
Not your typical murder mystery and everybody does not live happily ever after. Great book.
It definitely kept my interest although at times I did want to yell at the main character because I could see where she was making big mistakes. A very good read with some unexpected twists.
Read this book in one day. Characters were the best and loved the story line.
This was a very strange book. None of the characters were very likable, but they were well developed. It kept me guessing until the end, and the ending came as a surprise.
A gripping tale of dark secrets and domestic lies.
Builds from a creeping sense of unease to a jaw-dropping climax and a denouement I defy anyone to see coming.
Really good read with lots of twists. This will keep you guessing
I loved this book and could not put it down. Definitely suspenseful and interesting plot.
Loved it. Lots of twists and turns. Starts slowly, as author builds the characters. Really original plot!
I’ll start out by saying WOW! I’m so glad I chose this book. It’s my idea of a good murder mystery. It has enough twists that leave the reader guessing, and then the big boom of realization happens and you know finally the reasons for everything that happened. I can understand why Helen felt uneasy in a neighborhood with people who had so many secrets of their own. She felt like an outsider, but she came to think of herself as being lucky in that respect. I was so hooked on this story that I fell asleep reading it at 2 AM. I easily gave it 5 stars.
Never expected the end!
Good character development and the story line stays interesting the whole time. You’ll find yourself changing your mind a few times as to ‘who did it’!
Great read. Couldn’t put it down!
Kind of book that you don’t want to put down because you are anxious to find out who done it.
Did not like it. Too confusing.
Unlikely and almost unlikeable cast of characters whose strange stories/backgrounds blend together with a tragic end.
