This book is about a group of mothers that all have babies in May. They want to connect with other mothers in NYC because in a city so large how can you find friends and cope with being a mother?
Each one has a story and a past with one heart breaking event that ties them all together it’s hard to see who is genuine and who isn’t. There is a lot of twists and turns it’s a great suspense novel!
This is my first book by Aimee Molly I really enjoyed her writing style. The book is a very gripping story and makes you want to read it all it’s hard to put down.
I really enjoyed this book- I was able to read it pretty quickly and had times where I didn’t want to put it down! The character building is great, and the twist at the end was completely unexpected!
The Perfect Mother kept me guessing! I loved all the characters and found a lot of humor in it which was surprising for a thriller.
I enjoyed it but the ending was a bit too unbelievable.
Good read, kept my interest
I really liked this book and thought the author handled her plot well.
The Perfect Mother is good at laying out what the perfect mother is, and then describing women in the May Mothers group that are struggling with being a first-time mother. Dealing with leaving their children to return to work, not having enough milk, having a colicky baby, and being all-around tired. Then one of the moms has her baby abducted and the group of friends becomes obsessed with the crime. This only adds to their anxieties.
There are clues in the book as to who did the crime and why, but very subtle, and easy to miss. The book will keep you guessing to the end. However, for me, the characters were difficult to keep track of, not easy to sympathize with, and a bit overly obsessed by a crime of a child and his mother that they only knew superficially and for a very short period of time.
Great premise, strong characters, wonderful writing, and kept me guessing until the last pages.
Loved this book never saw the ending coming. It is the author’s first novel can’t wait for another.
The good “who did it” biok
The multiple narrators and the time switches made for a difficult read. Add to that some fairly unlikeable characters and I have to say I’m not likely to read Aimee Molloy’s second effort.
Was a good read. Everyone will find one of the moms and be able to relate to her. Regardless of your gender…. read and you’ll understand.
It kept me engaged from beginning to end. I was very surprised to discover it was the author’s first novel since it was so well written and edgy. I throughly enjoyed it.
I liked this, but it got repetitive and the characters were hard to keep track of. I related more to the supporting characters’ story than to the main storyline.
Just to typical. It seems like a rehash.
Keeps your attention until the end. Thought the ending was predictable
I thought the book was just OKAY. Too many people to keep straight. It was an easy read. Ending left me confused.
Excellent story, well written, great characters.
Suspenseful! What happens when new mom’s enjoy a night out? One of the babies goes missing! Lots of possible suspects, keeps you reading til the end!
Great book with an ending I never saw coming. Highly recommend!
