Liam Ward just got the starter position on the hockey team and he’s determined to have the best year of his life. If only his teammates would stop pointing out how “grown-up” his best friend has become and putting thoughts he most definitely shouldn’t think about in his head.Evie Clark wasn’t supposed to fall in love with her best friend, but she did. She doesn’t know when or how it happened, … happened, only that one day being close to him brought butterflies to her belly and her heart would start racing every time he was near. If only the feeling were mutual.
Just when Evie thinks there might be hope for the two of them, she sees Liam flirting with another girl. To put a stop to her feelings before it’s too late, Evie will do anything, even go out with a football quarterback.
She might have put him in the penalty box, but the moment the timer buzzes, this hockey player is determined to win the game.
The Penalty Box is a complete standalone, sweet YA sports romance novella taking place in the world of Greyford High.

I absolutely loved this story!! Liam & Evie sucked me in and didn’t let go until I was done with the story! I love Anna B Doe’s writing and she manages to keep me enthralled the whole time I am reading!! Liam definitely deserves his place in my harem!
If Goodreads would allow this book deserves at least 4.5 stars from.me…In Anna B Doe’s newest release “The Penalty Box”, the reader is brought back to Greyford High. In this novella we meet underclassmen Evie, Liam, and Noah. I really did like this book and wanted to give it 5 stars but I just felt the story was too short and I do wanted to see our friends we met I in the rest of the series. I just felt let down to not even learn more about the main characters in this novella…And yes, I know it’s a novella and is expected to be short but I guess knowing it was supposed to be part of Greyford High, I kept waiting for more. But otherwise the book and Anna B Does’ writing is really good.
Will Liam being placed in “penalty box “on his friendship with Evie snap him out of his attitude and make him realize ,as well as face his true feelings for his bf, before it’s to late…And is Evie giving up on her love of hockey to switch to football with Noah.
This book, as previously stated is a novella. I HIGHLY recommend even if haven’t read Greyford High (which I don’t know why you’d want to miss those three books).
#LIVIE4EVER
FIVE HOCKEY STARS for Evie and Liam !!!
I absolutely loved Evie and Liam’s story!
It’s short but so sweet and totally worth your time.
“The Penalty Box” is a young adult romance book with best friends to lovers trope which will melt your heart.
If you’ve read the first three books from the “Greyford High” series, you should read this one!!!
Highly recommended!!!
How Anna B. doe managed to fit so much angst into a novella is a mystery but this book had me ready to toss my kindle at times. I loved the friendship Liam and Evie shared. I throughly enjoyed the memories but also the confusion they were experiencing as their relationship changed. From the first page I had a silly grin on my face because of their sweet shared past. However, I also got so frustrated with them both. But it was a good frustration, if that even makes sense?! Either way this super easy, awesome read is a to great addition to the Greyford High Series.
The Penalty Box Arc Review
If you’ve read the first three books in the Greyford High series and are wanting more this short sweet novella will leave you feeling a little more satisfied. I absolutely loved Liam and Evie. This story was a fast charming little read.
Liam and Evie may be best friends but over the years things have changed especially for Evie. Liam just seems to be a little late in noticing… which soon lands him in the penalty box. Can Liam redeem himself and get the girl?
This novella is a standalone in the Greyford High series and a best friends to lovers YA sports romance. Anna B. Doe has once again left me happy and longing to read what ever comes next.
Sweet, delightful, endearing, charming, irresistible, adorable, captivating, and enchanting are just a few words I would use to describe this incredible novella of the Lines series. I love best friends to lover’s trope. My husband and I are high school sweethearts that were best friends first. The questions that go through your mind of not wanting to admit your feelings, not wanting to ruin your friendship, and getting jealous when anyone even looks at your best friend are perfectly portrayed in Evie and Liam’s interactions. They are both such down-to-earth characters that you can’t help but root for them from the beginning. This was a heart-warming story of two teenagers finding their forever in each other.
I received a free copy in exchange for my honest review.
The Penalty Box is a fun and sweet novella that is sure to put a smile on your face! Liam and Evie are best friends in high school, but what happens when Evie’s feelings towards Liam blossom into something more? Liam and Evie are both endearing and for such a quick read, the author does an excellent job with character development. This YA romance had me reminiscing over my own high school dating experiences and I am certain that many will be able to relate to the characters and to the storyline. The Penalty Box is a standalone novella in this author’s Greyford High series. If you’ve read the series, you will be pleased to see a few cameos from characters in the previous books. If you have enjoyed this author’s other works and / or love a good YA friends-to-lovers romance, then you will not want to miss out on this novella!

“It might have taken me getting stuck in the penalty box to figure it out, but now I know and I’m not letting you go.”
