He’s a professional hockey player that lives on the edge. I prefer to play life by the rules. I’m the personal assistant at a sports agency that no one notices. Unless they need coffee.I don’t like sports and I like professional athletes even less. I’m indifferent to the mostly male clientele, except for one.Mica “the savage” Petrov. When it comes to wild antics, Mica is the biggest offender of … antics, Mica is the biggest offender of them all.
He’s reckless, wild and carelessly charming.
I’m mortified that I find him attractive.
But it doesn’t matter because the guy hasn’t taken a second look at me.
Not once. In two years.
Mica’s career jeopardizing situation requires drastic measures to be taken to keep him in the game.
He’s got money, I’ve got debt and my boss has a crazy idea.
Which is how I found myself stepping up to save him from himself.
But at what cost?
How long can I keep fighting my attraction?
What ghosts from his past is he brawling with?
All I know is that I need to defend my heart before this big defenseman steals it away.
Can we win this game? Or is it too late for either of us?

This is another brilliant piece of writing from Odette. This follows Mica and Charlie as they try to navigate their ‘fake’ (*snorts* fake, yeah, right!!!) relationship and all the hilarity and downright emotional trouble that ensues. Well worth a read!

Until next time… Happy Reading!
I loved this book. For some reason, it hit all the right romantic places for me. It made me smile.
Mica and Charlie were an unlikely pair. He didn’t see her as an individual or a romantic interest and she hated the game he played.
I think what made this book a little different was that it took Mica some time to realize he was attracted to Charlie (Baby Krista), and he had no idea Charlie was attracted to him. In addition, both he and Charlie had interesting problems they needed to resolve as a result of guilt by association. There was no instalove here.
It was quite a ride watching their relationship develop and blossom. I enjoyed Charlie and Mica’s conversations. They felt a need to protect one another. The sexual tension between them built up until it exploded. There was also mystery and suspense woven into this romance. That was unexpected.
This book was just the right length, not too long, not too short. The pace was steady and the story was engaging. Most of the characters were likable, and the ones that weren’t likable, weren’t supposed to be. The icing on the cake was the epilogue. I love an epilogue. I’m looking forward to the next book in the series.
I voluntarily read and reviewed the Advanced Reader Copy of this book.
I loved, loved, loved Mica and Charlie’s story. A marriage in name only that turned into so much more. The struggles Mica had with his past was heartbreaking. But I loved seeing him overcome his fears. During the whole book there was this mystery regarding Charlie. You never knew until the very end what was going on. And the heat factor between these two ! Another great addition to this hockey series.
This book had it all, there was an emotionally scarred hero, and heroine with a past in need of protecting, a stalker plot-line, and lots of humour, and steam. There was also, for the most part, terrific communication.
Mica is my new favourite hero. It may seem that I’m using this title liberally, because I’ve said it with each new book I’ve read in the series, but I promise I don’t. Odette Stone has quickly become an author whose books I will instantly without even looking at the blurb. I loved Mica in Home Game, he was so supportive of both Zoey and Ryan throughout the book, and so I was super excited to read his story, and it definitely did not disappoint.
This might be a spoiler, but one of my favourite parts of the book was that there was no miscommunication about their feelings. The final conflict of many fake-relationship romances involves the hero and/or heroine not communicating their newfound feelings which leads to a break-up. As soon as their relationship progressed beyond a charade, they talked about how they would like to continue it when the year was up. I LOVED IT.
The secondary characters were great, I loved the reappearance of Krista (who is also Ryan’s sports agent), and Ryan and Zoey from Home Game. Mica’s mother was a surprisingly likeable character, and her relationship with him was well developed. I would have loved if there could have been some sort of reconciliation with his father, but that’s just me being nitpicky.
Overall, I cannot recommend this one enough. 5/5 stars, and I will definitely re-read it in the future!
This delicious little morsel is about Mica “the savage” Petrov who plays defenseman on the Vancouver Wolves hockey team is battling personal and professional chaos. With his life spiraling out of control Mica’s manager has the only solution to get him back into the game mentally and physically. Marriage is the answer.
Marrying her assistant, Charlie, will give Mica the image he needs to restore the damage that has been done to his reputation. Sounds easy enough? Mica could never fall for a basic looking woman. Or could he? Their marriage starts off on a roller coaster with twist and turns on every page. Ms. Odette will have you setting on the edge of your seat with lust and suspense. Mica is a “savage” on and off the ice making your panties melt.
Out of all the books in this lip biting series, this book is my absolute favorite. Ms. Odette will have experiencing a variety of emotions, with a physical effect. Buy this book and thank me later.
Odette Stone
I need a sequel! I love this book. Mica is a great hero, and Charlie is a formidable heroine! Please, please provide us with more tales about their love, their children, Sasha & Sniper! <3
Charlie, a PA to sports agent Krista, finds herself crushing on her bosses client Mica Petrov, hockey star and heart throb who is anything but the settling down type. When Mica finds himself needing a stand in fake wife and Krista is in need of someone she can trust to be that person she turns to her assistant Charlie. Not long after they decide on Charlie to stand in and when her world falls apart Mica can’t help but feel drawn to the beautiful woman. After a dew ups and downs and a major surprise Mica and Charlie can’t help what they are feeling and give into their HEA.
Loved this story from page one till the end. This series keeps you on your toes and I am always on pins and needles until I can get the next book from this amazing author. A definite 5 star read and a 100% 5 star series.
Love bond these people have.
My binge reading continues in the third book in this series that gets better and better. I loved Mica’s character from the previous book and his story is even better. He is so swoon worthy that you can’t help but fall in love with his sweetness, generosity and how he tries to avoid falling for Charlie. Their chemistry was hot and watching them navigate a fake marriage was fun. Can’t wait from more of this addicting series.
Talk about being on the edge of your seat!! The Penalty Box was the third book in Odette’s Vancouver Wolves Hockey Series. It was sexy, suspenseful and sweet.
Mica landed himself in some serious trouble and saving his hockey career was top priority. When an unconventional solution was suggested, he didn’t have much room to say no.
Charlie stepped in to help Mica only because she needed the money. But as time went on, the lines started to blur – it wasn’t pretend anymore but did Mica feel the same?
What a ride! I was expecting a sexy romance but ended up with so much more! From suspense to heartbreak, it had it all. This book was hands down my favorite of the series!!
Great characters drawn together in a fake marriage. Loved how the main characters grew closer and fell in love a little more each day.
Mica needs to do everything to save his imagine and his job. But a marriage of convenience was not in the books for him. He didn’t want to get married. He didn’t want to live like his parents did. Charlie signs up for the job, more because of the pay…well she doesn’t technically sign up, her boss asks her and she decides to do it. Mica looks at Charlie a whole different way now. He never stepped over the line. I wanted more from the book, but the drama was amazing.
Okay story
The Penalty Box is the first book I have read by Odette Stone. I was not sure what to expect from this “new to me” author but the book description looked like it could be really interesting to see where the author went with the story-line. So for me I found this to be an OK read but nothing that really wowed me. There were a number of things that I liked about the story but also a number that I did not like, and a few that I really took issue with. The author is able to write and the double POV was good as it gave me a better understanding of the characters and what was happening for them during all of the events. In the end I found it to be an ok read but it was to heavy on drama and a bit long.
I received a free ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review. My opinions are all my own.
Another Wonderful Book In This Series!! 4.5 Stars

The Penalty Box: (A Vancouver Wolves Hockey Romance Book 3)
Charlie is Mica’s Agent, Krista, second in command. His nickname for her is Baby Krista. She’s been counteracting her mind numbing attraction to him over the last two years by acting as though she thinks he’s a sleazy man*h*re with no class! He barely notices her, which is great but also mortifying!!
After getting arrested whilst on stage with the Club Owner at a Charity Event, Mica’s contract is on the line! The owner, Mark Ashford, is furious but loves Mica & Krista knows that. After all of his infractions lately she thinks showing Mark that Mica has ‘settled down’ will possibly save Hockey career! So she tells Mark he’s engaged & is getting married soon, Mark agrees to give him one last chance!!
The fake/real marriage between Charlie & Mica is awkward, funny & uncomfortable. When his protective instincts get kicked in things change a bit & easier for them both. But when he accidentally walks in on her trying on new lingerie all bets are off!!
There is a sinister element in this story throughout, we’re never quite sure where its coming from but it’s always there in background, growing – it’s creepy!!
This is another fab read. I’ve been loving this series & the Author’s writing style. She’s made each book different enough that they *don’t* feel like you’re reading the same book rewritten, we’ve all had that happen! On to book #4

Another steamy page-turner from Odette Stone’s Vancouver Wolves series. The fake-marriage-turns-real story has loads of sparks and is a powerful slow-burn. Odette is a fantastic writer who allows you to disappear into the story and keep flipping the pages. I was swept away into a high-stakes world of sexual chemistry, team spirit, friendship, and angst. I loved this one, and am looking forward to the next in the series!
A hockey romance arranged marriage. Charlie rescues Mica’s career when she agrees to marry him. Lots of twists and unexpected turns to keep me turning the pages. What happens when they develop real feelings? Will their fake marriage become a real marriage or disintegrate? A great story!!
This is a standalone story by an author whom I haven’t read before. The main characters are Mica and Charlie who initially don’t want a real marriage to each other. But as time passes, they realize they can’t continue to ignore the deeper feelings they have for each other. There’s lots of action and drama to go along with the romance as they try to reach a HEA.

Mica is a pro hockey player and he seems to always be getting into trouble. Especially with his friends that he knows. So with the last straw that may get him traded, he must get help. His publicist comes up with a fake fiance’ to show he is ready to settle down and be serious. Charlie works for Mica’s publicist and is in desperate need of money. She has had a crush on Mica but wouldn’t ever own up to it. But as it turns out, she is one her boss chooses to play his fiance’. But as they go out and spend more time together, they both are coming to terms with their feelings. But someone isn’t too thrilled about their relationship so will they even get their chance? Good suspense within this romance story. Loved their interaction and am hoping Mica’s Russian friend can get his own book. He’s someone that caught my attention.
