The stench of death within the interrogation cave no longer disturbs the High Priest. Not even little demon children are allowed to escape his righteous wrath.Watching her beloved … wrath.

Back among his brethren, Protector Prime Samael, of the Panther Tribe is fighting his own battles. Breaking the rules and acting solely on instinct on a fated night has cost him dearly. A primordial bond now sings in his veins, and he fights against its unyielding call.
Torn in between resentment, desire and need, he must pave his own path, in pain, suffering and sorrow.
Past horrors returned to haunt the present, ancient prophecies brought to life, and in the centre of it all, two paths forged in both Darkness and Light.
Where will the Goddess lead them?
Note: The Path of Salvation is the second book in The Prime Series and closely follows the events of The Power of Conviction. It shouldn’t be read as a standalone.

*Phew* The second part of Catrin’s Prime series is a rush! Continuing on right from where Power of Conviction left off, this is a riveting tale of obsession, lust, hope and, of course, Salvation.
The characters continue to grow as this deliciously dark tale evolves, from the broken and emotionally stunted to the innocent and beautifully open. There is a character for almost everyone to either love or hate (and indeed both!).
Catrin has a way with words that make you want to keep reading, want to dive right in and not stop until you reach the conclusion.
Looking forward to continuing Anaya and Samael’s forbidden yet fated story.
Catrin Russell
The story continues in this epic tale of Anaya. As things continue to lead to the high Priest and his obsession to conquer all demons, Anaya and her relationship with Samael takes on a life of its own. Battles heat up, Some of the priest are questioning their role on protecting the people and this obsession the Holy Father is cultivating.
Could all that information on demons be incorrect? Samael is cursed…or is he ? The Matriarch of the Panther Clan must take steps to save her son.
As the story unfolds… a long forgotten Prophecy is brought to light…but will it save or condemn the humans and The Panther Clan. In this story…it is a page turner, as the reader rallies around some characters, and others will hope the High Priest will either get what’s coming to him or will he destroy everything. Anaya has decisions to make and it may cost her life. Anaya, Lenda, Elric, Anna and those around them must choose to do what is right or follow orders…to do what’s right has consequences but if they don’t follow orders then it could mean their lives. This is an action packed, page turner with a few twists, a few wow..didn’t see that coming and a few oh my stars and garters!
I so loved the 1st book in the series and was wondering if the 2nd book would be as good. Well, a definite resounding YES!!!! I didn’t think it possible but this book was even better than the 1st and trust me, that was not an easy feat to achieve! The author has brought to life a most stupendous, gripping, enticing, captivating way! This book picks up perfectly after book 1, totally seamlessly and immediately exciting. Not going to give any spoilers but boy did I do a happy dance when Anaya and Samael found each other again! And the depth of this novel is astounding! The Demon settlements and way of life, their laws, rules and traditions are so real, it was amazing. As the Head Priest carries on his misguided and totally barbaric purge of Demons, more and more in the Priesthood start to doubt his methods. All he has achieved, is to rile up all the demon tribes to retaliate. It leads to the most awesome showdown and an incredibly powerful outcome, one that neither demon nor human imagined. In all honesty, neither did I! But I was caught between despair and exhalation! It is very rare that a book can evoke so many strong emotions in me, afterall, this IS fiction…but I was taken on a nail biting ride! Be still my heart, there is more to come in the series! Outstanding, outstanding, outstanding!
I’m in love with a Demon!
Picking up the story right where it let off in “The Power of Conviction”, the first lines of Catrin Russell’s “The Path of Salvation” ripped through my heart and reverberated in my bones.
This book will grip you and tear you apart. The dichotomy of darkness and light, right and wrong, of logic and heart, of what you’ve been taught to believe and what you feel is right.
I have to admit, I had to read “The Path of Salvation” twice, because in the first read, I skipped the side-characters’ stories and concentrated on the main storyline only. Anaya, and Samael. Priestess and Demon, bound to each other through forces beyond their control. Follow their journeys of denial and disbelief, anguish and yearning, to finally, acceptance of the situation in an absolutely surprising, glorious way.
During my second read, I was able to concentrate on the side-stories, each mirroring a distinct part of the main storyline in a unique way, heightening the reader’s awareness to the underlying, all-spanning struggle of right and wrong.
Does the cause always justify the means? Can something done in the name of righteousness be innately evil? Should you stand up to your superiors when you see them falter, eaten up by the need for vengeance, or should you follow orders like a good disciple or soldier, hoping that in the end, you will fight on the right side after all?
Those are struggles we all face on a smaller scale every day, making it easy to relate, to feel the anguish of doubt, the shattering of beliefs.
Glorious five Stars and an extra Heart for Samael
Having to wait for the next book in the PRIME series is pure torture…
A bold continuation of Russell’s The Light of Darkness series. The first half of the book reads as long as and as tough as the characters feel in their personal agonies, but the second half of the book provides more action, romance, and plot twists than I could have ever imagined. I did not see what was coming and could not put this book down.
