An epic and gripping tale of catastrophe and survival, The Passage is the story of Amy—abandoned by her mother at the age of six, pursued and then imprisoned by the shadowy figures behind a government experiment of apocalyptic proportions. But Special Agent Brad Wolgast, the lawman sent to track her down, is disarmed by the curiously quiet girl and risks everything to save her. As the experiment … experiment goes nightmarishly wrong, Wolgast secures her escape—but he can’t stop society’s collapse. And as Amy walks alone, across miles and decades, into a future dark with violence and despair, she is filled with the mysterious and terrifying knowledge that only she has the power to save the ruined world.

If you like this genre, this is a must read. You will not stop with the first book either. There are similar stories to this but the author made this one unique.
Overrated, it was decent, but not nearly as good as it was touted. I skipped the second book.
Very well written novel about a post-apocalyptic world run over by vampire-like creatures. It pays homage to Dracula in its writing style as well as in the nature of the creatures. It sets up very nicely what should be a series of books.
The story is a mammoth piece of narrative jumping back and forth by decades. It begins with an army funded …
This was a good book and the new cover is great. The final book in the trilogy comes out this Summer.
I really got into this book. Couldn’t wait for the other two to come out. I’ve read all three.
I first picked up The Passage by Justin Cronin back in 2010 when I was still in the Army.
After reading only the first chapter in the book store, I decided I absolutely had to buy it.
The Passage is still one of the most memorable books I’ve ever read. As a Houston-Texas, centric writer myself, I can confidently state that reading The Passage has …
An epic the caliber of The Stand and every bit as twisting and turning.
Great and intriguing read which left me eager for the sequel. The second book was not as good but the third in the trilogy more than made up for it.
Great
I read this book years ago, before the tv series came out, and must say the book is much better. On that note, though, the tv series was executed fairly well.
If you love apocalyptic stories that take a twist, you need to pick up this book. It has excellent world-building (or destroying, should I say? ha) and character development, and I rooted …
Such an awesome series, you’ll want to read all three of these books. Well written, hard to put down. Great characters, great story.
I wasn’t into sci-fi until I read this collection. Thoroughly enjoyed it.
One of my all time favorite series. Could not get enough of this. I have read the series three or four times over, it’s that good.
Immediately I was caught in the Whirlwind that isThe Passage. Cronin made me fall in love, and hate, with the unique character’s and multiple plots. I couldn’t put it down, as I was digesting every single word! What a thrill ride!
An excellent series.
Another classic
One of the best books I’ve ever read! Different then most books I read. I had a hard time putting it down.
Wow. This book was not at all what I was expecting. It’s far from the typical vampire or monster story, and has a plausible feel. The time line spans for generations, and I can’t fathom where the other books will lead the story. What I especially like, is that the author states the inspiration for the story came from his young daughter. Highly …
Memorable!!
Well written and imagined. This just popped up in my “review this“ list from bookbub and made me realize I’d like to read this book again. I don’t often do that but I think I would enjoy it even more the second time around.
This was one of the best books i have ever read. Very engaging. Lost sleep finishing it
