In the spring of 1685, Lord Hugo Everly, ardent supporter of the Protestant upstart the Duke of Monmouth, vanishes without a trace just before the Monmouth Rebellion, leaving future generations forever baffled as to what might have become of him.
In 2013, while visiting Everly Manor as part of her job as a location scout for a film production company, Neve Ashley stumbles onto a secret passage … passage that leads her into the seventeenth century and straight into the path of the ill-fated lord. Neve is able to return safely to her own time, but she can’t forget the man she met or the fate that’s about to befall him. Against her better judgment, Neve decides to go back and warn Hugo of impending danger, not realizing that she’s walking into danger herself, for history is never straightforward, and people’s motives not always what they appear to be. Taken hostage by the very man she was trying to save, Neve is trapped in the seventeenth century, her fate now intertwined with that of her captor, and the future something that neither one of them could have envisioned.

I loved the entire 5 book series and have re read it over again, and listened on Audible. I highly recommend it.. and the naration by Eva Kaminsky was wonderful.
I loved this book so much, I end up getting the whole series. I loved it. From the beginning to the end. There were so many twist and turns. Things that happened, that were so not expected.
While I normally don’t care for time travel books, this one was really good. A story that brings together true soulmates through different centuries including a bit of history. I only wish it ended with this book. Now I am going to be forced to continue reading this series. I really loved this book and highly recommend it to anyone who dislikes the typical time travel romance.
This One Leaves You Hanging
I’m not a fan of the 1st person narrative. Still, I was entertained well enough to read to the end, if you can call it that. I generally don’t mind when the end of a book contains a lead into the next book in a series. However, this story stops with a cliffhanger. Hugo and Neve’s story isn’t finished, there is no closure – and the book ends.
Fans of Outlander will love Irina Shapiro’s The Passage. I couldn’t turn the pages fast enough to find out what happened next.
If you love Outlander you’ll love The Wonderland Series. There’s nothing glorious about the mid-1600’s in England. But Neve Ashley risks it all for the love of Hugo. Amazing characters, plot, and descriptions that will keep you rooted in time. I was sorry to say goodbye.
I enjoy time-travel novels a great deal, in fact instead of moving on to another type of book I’m currently working on the 3rd book in the series
There is just something about how the main characters from this book have been developed that makes me want to finish the entire series before moving on to something new. I need closure, lol. Take a woman from this century and have her enter another century through the crypt in a historic chapel on the grounds of an estate being evaluated for use in recording a period piece. Have her meet the enigmatic ancestor of the person that she’s met in the 21st century and watch how everything evolves from there. A good read to be sure
great read!
Go on, read and get caught up in passages like this one:
“Was our destiny truly written in the stars as the ancients claimed, or was it just our over-romanticized imagination that wanted to harness the power of the universe and bend it to our will; making it responsible for our choices and future; imbuing it with a collective consciousness more suited to a divine being than an infinite vastness in which we were nothing more than particles of dust, twirling through space until our time was done?”
You’ll find yourself wishing that Max would meet an accidental end, and we’d get our happily ever after in the 21st century, instead of a what looks to be a very dark “to be continued” saga in the seventeenth.
I enjoyed this book so much I bought the next 4 books in the series! Wonderful rich characters, interesting plot twists, and so well written I didn’t want to stop reading. I recommend this author and this book series.
The end left one hanging until the next book!
Not well edited, sort of distracting. Also, I know it’s time travel, don’t keep pointing it out every time you get another chance.
Couldn’t put it down. Can’t wait to read next in series.
Hard to put down. I recommend all her books!
I couldn’t put these books down .
Did not hold my attention
started reading and could not put it down. Love, challenging, intense, happy and at times, a nail biter.
Just finished listening to the complete Wonderland series. Wow!!! This is now my favorite time travel series. Truly well written and I fell in love with all the characters. They feel like family! I’m going to miss Neve, Hugo, Francis, Archie and Jem. I’ve read/listened to many time travel novels and this is top notch.
I don’t usually care for series although there are a few good ones out there, but I can’t recall one with such a horrible and incomplete ending. It’s really too bad because this story is good and well written – but to come to the awful non-ending, and then find that the teaser for the next book is just terribly depressing feels like punishment.
Net result: There’s no way I’d read another book in this series, or by this author after being burned this badly. I feel cheated and resentful, so I won’t waste any more time on this review.
I would like to read more in this series
