When a time travelling Jane Austen gets stuck in modern-day Bath it’s up to avid Janeite Rose Wallace to save her… because she’s the only one who knows that Jane exists!Rose Wallace’s world revolves around all things Austen, and with the annual festival in Bath – and the arrival of dishy archaeologist, Dr Aiden Trevellyan – just around the corner, all is well with the world… well with the world…
But then a mysterious woman who bears more than a passing resemblance to the great author moves in upstairs, and things take a disastrous turn. Rose’s new neighbour is Jane Austen, whose time travel adventure has been sabotaged by a mischievous dog, trapping her in the twenty-first century.
Rose’s life is instantly changed – new home, new job, new friends – but she’s the only one who seems to have noticed! To right the world around her, she will have to do whatever it takes to help Jane get back home to write Rose’s beloved novels. Because a world without Mr Darcy? It’s not worth living in!

Now I really want to go to Bath for the Jane Austen Festival! This was a delightfully, charming story with a twist. What was Jane Austen doing in Bath in the 21st Century! The writing of this story by two authors was completely seamless and flowed beautifully. The premise was unique and intriguing though at times I did find the beginning a bit slow. I completely enjoyed the friendship between the main character, Rose and her online friend, Morgan, very touching and completely believable. How they enjoy the Jane Austen Festival as well as dealing with their love lives was fun, entertaining and you wanted to give them just a bit of a push into the arms of the men they love. I must say though, I enjoyed Jane most of all!

The Particular Charm of Miss Jane Austen (Austen Adventures, book 1) by Ada Bright and Cass Grafton
If you like time travel and Jane Austen, then you will love this! I loved all of the characters and reading about the different things based in modern day England and regency era England! It’s mixed with humor, friendship, love interests, and even some sad moments in between. The friendship between Rose and Melody will warm your heart and the adventures that Rose and Jane embark on after being transported to a different time is so entertaining!
I absolutely loved this book!!
I found this to be a charming read, it is very well written espically considering there were two different authors. I couldn’t tell any difference in the writing so they work very well together. I really enjoyed the storyline and the characters in the book. I found it to be a very different read than my normal reads, yet I couldn’t put the book down. I received a copy of the book from the author, and this is my honest review. I would definitely recommend this book to others.
The Particular Charm of Miss Jane Austen (TPCoMJA) felt like it was written for me with Harry Potter and (obviously) Austen references.
If you’re looking for a story with unexpected twists and turns, you won’t find it here. What you will find is a fun, well-paced, fulfilling story of friendship with some romance thrown in for good measure. I especially enjoyed the subplot of exploring how the modern world would be different without Jane Austen, and without her writing.
I would advise bookmarking book 2 or buying them together because TPCoMJA ends in the most abrupt manner with a cliffhanger. I can’t imagine having read TPCoMJA before book 2 was available.
In any case, I heartily recommend TPCoMJA. The characters are lovely, the relationships are realistic and intriguing, and the storyline is fascinating. A hearty 5 stars for this masterpiece from Ada Bright and Cass Grafton.
Austen fandom and time travel; uneven execution but interesting concept

Lovers of Jane Austen will enjoy the descriptions of Austen-themed events in contemporary Bath, the main setting of this time travel fantasy with a touch of humor and romance. Heroine Rose is a local resident who stumbles upon an Austen adventure in which she gets to help save Austen’s literary heritage for the world. An interesting idea and the chapters in the middle of the book that focus on this mission are the best part. But the story drags at the beginning, enough so that a third through I almost gave up. Rose and Morgan, her American bosom buddy (though they’ve never before met in person!) seem way less mature than their age, and Morgan seems more the stereotypical boisterous American than a relatable character. Only Rose and Jane Austen herself get any in-depth exploration of their emotions. I also thought the authors’ attempts at evoking Regency era speech for Austen felt awkward more than authentic.
There are truly touching moments for Jane and Rose and sweet, courtship interludes for Rose and Morgan, but the strange, abrupt ending put paid to any feeling of contentment or closure I expected. I had no idea when I picked up this book that it would not have an ending!
Thanks to the publishers and NetGalley for providing a complimentary advance copy of the book; this is my voluntary and honest review.
