Deacon Hunter is domineering. Condescending. Infuriating. And yet I can’t seem to keep my panties on for five minutes when we’re alone together. He keeps melting them right off. With that sexy voice, those confident hands, the way he brings my body wildly to life, he’s proved my libido hasn’t gone into permanent, post-divorce hibernation after all.Surely there’s no harm in being enemies with … benefits… Right?***When Violet Boden asks me to take her Divorce Virginity, the only thing I can think is—come again? No, seriously, come again. And again and again, until both of us are so satisfied we can’t remember the people who did us wrong.Best if we keep conversation to a minimum, though, considering I drive her crazy. She drives me crazy sometimes, too. With a title like Panty Melter what could go wrong? Or is it all wrong for the right reasons? The Panty Melter by Lili Valente starts off with what the title implies and gives you panty-melting moments throughout the story.
I felt the ending was just a bit too much for me. I get where the author’s direction was going and I would never knock an author for all her/his hard work but in my honest opinion, I feel like it started with a bang and kind of fell flat at the end.
I love the premise of this story. which is enemies to lovers I also loved the fact these two people, Deacon, and Violet. are in their forties, have grown children and that they are divorced trying to find that happiness once again.
The back and forth and chemistry, hate you …love you…hate you…melt my panties off… love you jumps off the pages. The connection between the characters is spot on.
As a parent and having these same fears about your children growing up and leaving the nest aspect of the story to stuck hard with me. Powerful feelings were evoked
Great read.
The Panty Melter by Lili Valente is the fourth standalone romance in her Hunter Brothers series. An absolute and complete feel-good romance. There is not one moment in the book that is overly angsty. Now do not get me wrong – there is a little bit of drama – but it is such a lovely story of two people finding love at a time when they’d about given up on it. Gah! Swoon! Deacon is such an alpha hottie with a soft streak and good heart and Violet is a wonderful person, a fabulous mom and an irrepressible soul! Everything in this book just made my heart warm. Enjoy!
Such a delightful story about taking chance at love again.
Violet, a divorcee of 2 years and Deacan, who’s been on his own, serving his country and raising his, now grown, sons since they were little are drawn to each other but can they take a chance on each other?
This book is a perfect combination of fun and romance, it’s equal parts sweet, sexy, swooney and hilarious and I loved all the characters and captivating story line.
If romcom is your jam, you gonna love this one!

Violet Boden seems to be having a string of bad luck. Deacon Hunter may just have met his match. I loved how the author twisted things because he did and she didn’t. It made it very easy to follow so that I could watch for the turnaround point – that doesn’t mean it felt predictable either. Loved the fact that this is a second chance for two people over the age of thirty.
This is one of those stories where you’re not laughing at the character’s expense. It’s more like you’re laughing with them. This story is actually pretty sweet. There are moments of tension and steam but the heat is more of a simmer. And the author knows how to use that to tease. There’s just enough for you to fill in the blanks or to leave it up to your imagination.
Our author makes it real by adding in some unexpected things that a lot of people go through. Sometimes there are bumps in the road that can test any relationship. The true test is whether or not the couple can get through the storm. As the ending crept closer, I loved how the author added in another twist that had me sit up and take notice. And speaking of ending, the author gave me a suggestion of what I may want to read next – plus a sneak peek.
I went into the story not knowing that this was part of a series. That lets me know that you can consider this a standalone and could probably read about the brothers in any order. So I may have to put the author’s suggestion on the backburner since I have some Hunter Brothers to check out. Maybe you will feel the same way. It certainly left me looking forward to reading more of Ms. Valente’s work.
I was not compensated nor was I required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own.
The Panty Melter by Lili Valente is book 4 in the Hunter Brothers Series. This is the story of Violet Boden and Deacon Hunter. I haven’t yet read the previous book, so for me this was a standalone book for me.
Deacon is working to raise his boys along with working on his career. Violet has been divorced for about two years and has a daughter who is 18. Violet is working to get back into the dating world since she is being pushed in that direction. Deacon and Violet have a enemies/sparing relationship, but when a masquerade party encounter ends up making sparks for both…until they find out who the other is. Then unsure of how to go forward with their new feelings that aren’t hate. Enjoyed their story.

This book is a fabulously funny romantic story that I did not want to put down until I finished! Deacon is an alpha male with a heart of gold and a soft spot few get to see. Violet is independent, strong willed and lives life caring for anyone (or anything) that crosses her path. I loved this opposites attract story, especially because this book has older characters! Deacon and Violet are in their 40s and have experienced a lot of things in their lives, and the issues that come up are realistic and relatable to all ages, and is quite refreshing to read as an almost 40 year old myself! If you want a funny, sweet, sexy story with some definite surprises, you need to pick this one up today!

Such a great book! So sad to see the series end!
I loved loved loved Panty Melter! Deacon and Violet are amazing! I wish their book had come earlier in the series so we got to hear more of their story through out the series. It would be amazing to get to have a Jacob or Blake book, or both in one since Jacob is settled.
Excellent work Ms. Valente, as usual! I so easily get lost in your writing and the beautiful worlds you create. Thank you, I can’t wait to read your next creation.
A pair of losers at love have reached midlife when they find they are combustible together and can’t seem to stay away from one another! Great characters and a sweet romance, too! Loved it!
I highly enjoyed this book!
I really loved Deacon and violet was just awesome!!
Deacon had returned home after 20 years in military.
And Violet is figuring out this single parent thing since her husband left her for his secretary!!
I really loved the characters. And the sweetness. And the heat!!
Highly recommend

fun read. fun series
Deacon Hunter is domineering. Condescending. Infuriating.
And yet I can’t seem to keep my panties on for five minutes when we’re alone together.
I did like this book in the series with it’s little more mature midlife look on romance and dealing with grown children and ex husbands. The story line was sweet with most of the action right at the end, the chemistry between the character was warm and seductive and the sex was hot, overall this was a great read.

This is the fourth and final book in the Hunter Brother series of books. This book centers around oldest brother Deacon and Violet. Violet’s ex dumped her for a younger model and she is now navigating the dating world as a 40 year old. For some reason, she seems to dislike Deacon, her boss’s brother’s, but cannot seems to control her hormones around him. They have a great chemistry, and eventually give into their attraction. Of course their path to happily ever after has a few bumps. I really loved both Deacon and Violet, and the fact that they were a more mature couple. Another great read by Lili Valente.
I occasionally forget just how much fun Lili Valente’s books are…. The Panty Melter is the fourth book in the Hunter Brothers series but only the second I’ve read (I’m gonna rectify that ASAP!!!!)I loved this story! Deacon and Violet were that little bit older and had a few things in common – both had lived a life that didn’t go quite to plan and they had older kids but it was now time to live their own lives!! Deacon was, to Violet’s mind, gruff, bossy and totally alpha… but under all that he was a sweet, caring, really good guy and I’m glad she took time to find that out! Violet was the calm, measured balance to Deacon’s ‘speak/act now, think later’ mind set – especially when it came to his sons. This pair were combustible… and that was before they took the leap to see where this connection between them could go. Deacon’s determination that Violet was more than just a ONS or fling earned him definite brownie points in my book! The twist in the story was good and I really enjoyed the epilogue. Another fab, fun read from Ms Valente and a 5*, most definitely recommended read!
This book was so hard to put down! The progress of Violet & Deacon’s relationship from being annoyed by each other, to flirty friends, to so much more was entrancing. I liked that there was just enough drama to keep the story moving without making it angsty. I really enjoyed this book!
Oh my…Deacon may be my favorite Hunter!!
“I’d sure as h*** rather spend the next thirty years cursing myself for…it up with you than give up now and never know if this is what I think it is.”
Seriously – who can resist a man that tells you that??!??
So while Deacon and Violet aren’t exactly enemies; they aren’t really friends either. When they almost hook-up at a costume party…the chemistry eventually becomes too hard to deny. This has the normal wittiness of a Lili Valente book and I so love the text conversations between characters – it really allows you to gain insights into the characters.
Deacon may have a military background and be a little stern, but man is he loveable too!! This one definitely had some unexpected complications, but I think that just gave this story more heart. These two are just so good together and I loved that epilogue…so sweet.
Another plus – this is an older romance which is great because we don’t have enough stories for second chances at new love!!
Really – there wasn’t a single thing not to like about this story. It works as a stand-alone, but really you’ll want to meet all the Hunter men!!
I voluntarily requested and read an advance reader copy.
Oh my Deacon is certanly quite the panty melter and such a strong alpha male . When Deacon spies Violet at a Halloween party he knews that he is more than drawn to her. She is strong, beautiful, funny and fiercley independent. Violet is two years off a divorce that left her questioning if she could ever find that spark again! When a mystery man kisses her and she melts into him she knows that maybe just a fling may not be so bad but Deacon knows that one kiss is not enough. When she realizes that so called mystery man is her boss’s older arrogant bossy brother well that buts the breaks on so called fling quick ! They both soon discover that this big burly man not only melts her girly parts but also her heart. The more time they spend together the more they want! !!! When their children become more than involved in their romance it soon becomes apparant that quick decsions and choices need to be made ! Are they all in or will is all crash and burn!!!
I loved their sizzle, witty banter and sweet romance !!!

Resistance is futile… thank goodness!
The Hunter Brothers are back! This time out it was serious Deacon’s turn and he had his hands delightfully full with practical, sweet, sexy Violet. I loved that these characters were older, facing life and love challenges with the benefit of experience and maturity. That didn’t mean they didn’t struggle, oh they did! Just because it wasn’t their first rodeo, didn’t mean it was any easier…
“…I’ve got enough on my plate with my own crazy family; I don’t need a booster shot of nuts from yours.”
The attraction was high and the smexy was hot as these two found their way. Violet’s inner voice had me laughing out loud. A lot. Whether describing her futile attempts to resist Deacon or hiding her reaction to him, it was said with humour and the ability to laugh at herself. Deacon was more uptight but Violet brought out the lighthearted in him as she worked her irresistible magic…
From baby goats to hemorrhoids named Chad, this story was full of boundless laughter and life with all its ups and downs. Funny, heart-warming, this author knows how to write a great story with all the feels I crave!

I love that Deacon and Violet are a couple in their forties dealing with teenage/young adult children while figuring out what the future means for them. I love Violet’s outlook on life and the way she parents. There is plenty of steam, and the chemistry between these two is off the charts, and totally addictive.
There are a few twists in this book that are very amusing. and the characters are lovable. The author has a way with words and turns of phrase that I really like. I really enjoyed this book and I recommend it.
Ms Valente has a way of making characters feel so real. I felt invested in Deacon and Violet’s quest for happiness. The small things he does that shows that he cares and knows her brought a wee tear to my eye. Enjoyable read.
When your spouse of twenty years trades you up for someone who is roughly around the age of your oldest child, you have to create a new “normal”. New normal means, backing to the dating pool.
Dating after divorce…
Dating at forty, when both parties are set in their ways.
Unless… unless you find someone who you are so attracted to you, they melt your panties just by being in the same room as you.
This is the dilemma both Violet and Deacon face. The attraction is so strong between them, they fight to keep their wits and clothes on. But as they work on their chemistry, they find that dating and parenting just isn’t as simple as they thought.
After reading The Heartbreaker, I knew I wanted Deacon and Violet to get together. So it’s safe to say The Panty Melter was worth the wait. It was super sexy, funny, and being a single mom in my forties, I connected with Violet almost immediately. I really loved and enjoyed this entire series.
If you’ve never read a Lili Valente book, you need to rectify this…and I recommend you do it with this series.
