It’s been a while since my last Lili Valente book and boy was I happy after finishing this. Everything about this story was perfect. I loved that the MC’s were mature and developed characters. They both had strong shoulders too lean on. They were both a bit strong-headed but that just added to their chemistry which was off the charts. It was so easy to get lost in their world.
I absolutely loved every word of this book. If their chemistry is the indication what awaits me when I turn 40+?!?! Bring it on

I was so excited to read Deacon Hunter’s story and it did not disappoint, it was everything I expected and more and it captivated me from the first chapter. If you love enemies to lovers you will certainly want to read this highly entertaining book.
There may be an instant attraction and some seriously sizzling hot chemistry between Deacon and Violet but that doesn’t mean they have to like each other but it’s not long before these enemies give in to the attraction and passion they feel for each other. The witty banter is perfect and some of the one liners these two share will have you giggling and leave you smiling like a Cheshire Cat, an older couple who have plenty of life experiences to draw on helps to make this a great read. This book has it all, you will laugh, you will swoon and you will fall in love with these wonderful funny characters.
Looking forward to what’s next from this very talented author.
The Panty Melter is the 4th book in the Hunter Brothers Series. I read the first book but, how did I miss the 2nd book The Troublemaker and the 3rd book The Heartbreaker? Those 2 books are now on my kindle just waiting to be read! I just need to read about all the heartthrob Hunter men!
Now on to the review of The Panty Melter.
Yep, Panty Melter melts panties. Deacon Hunter is panty worthy! I could probably keep that going for a while.
I love that both Deacon and Violet have older kids and they are in their 40’s. It’s nice for a change. Both Deacon Hunter & Violet Boden have kids. Deacon has twin boys in college now. Violet has 2 almost grown girls.
Violet doesn’t want a domineering man but, she can’t resist the chemistry between her and Deacon.
Bomb after bomb is delivered and I can just see Violet’s jaw dropping as she receives all the bombs.
I absolutely love the ending of this book. Now I really do need to read books 2 & 3. You can’t have enough of these Hunter men!
5 Star Review of The Panty Melter (Hunter Brothers #4) By Lili Valente
I have read several books in this series and I could not wait to read what was in store for Deacon Hunter and the woman who would bring him to his knees Violet Boden. An enemies to lovers story that was absolutely captivating to read.
A chance meeting at a masquerade party has Deacon and Violet hot for one another until she realizes who he is and runs.
Deacon is an infuriating, arrogant man who manages to drive Violet up the wall, as she does him on occasion. I actually fell hard and fast for Deacon, there is something about him that I loved, perhaps it is that he and Violet are in their forties and are both divorced and not in their twenties looking for their first love.
Neither Deacon or Violet want a committed relationship, in fact Violet doesn’t even want or like Deacon, or so she thinks. Declan is attracted to Violet but after her running from him at the party, he is not sure she is interested. Can enemies become lovers with benefits, without commitment?
The chemistry between Deacon and Violet is intense and they find it hard to ignore. What will happen when emotions come in to play and casual becomes anything but? Can Deacon and Violet get the happily ever after that they both deserve?
This was a fun, quirky, flirtatious read that ticked all the boxes for me and had me invested from the start. One click this little gem, I don’t think you will be disappointed.
Loved this story!
Meet Violet, divorced mother of 3 girls. While at a party at her bosses home, she has a tryst with a stranger, or who she thinks is a stranger, turns out to be her bosses brother Deacon, whom she despises!
Deacon has been divorced for a long time and the last thing he needs is a relationship, but one night with Violet, has his mind stuck on her, he wants her but she so dislikes him he will have to work overtime to convince her to give him a chance.
Read along as these two try to move on from their pasts, and see if they have any kind of future together. In true Lili style, you will get some twists and turns in this one, some you won’t believe! 4 1/2 stars for this one, grab it asap!
I was excited to read this book! I had the pleasure of reading a book Lili Valente co-wrote with Pippa Grant and loved it, so I couldn’t wait to read something by just Ms. Valente. She did not disappoint. She brought a later in life enemies to lovers book to a laugh out loud happily ever after.
This starts out as a enemies to lovers type of book, but with so many subtle plot twists that keep you reading and working hard to keep all the details straight! I could tell this was part of a series, and wish I had read from the beginning first, as I did have a bit of trouble keeping all the characters straight, and I feel perhaps reading them in order would have helped with that.
Violet is a lovely divorced mother who is ready to move on and get some sexy on. She seems like a great mother to her daughters, and does her best to co-parent. She has a strong love of animals and is a vegetarian. She’s strong in her beliefs and attitude, and has an amazing set of friends to see her through her divorce and her life after. Deacon is a cocky, self sure, no filter, alpha kind of guy. And unfortunately he keeps running into Violet and their verbal sparring and ability to annoy each other keeps them spinning in circles. Despite Deacon’s ability to rub Violet the wrong way, he is a good man and widowed father. And when they take the time to stop annoying each other, they find each other a quite intriguing.
These two definitely have chemistry, which starts out as annoyance and moves to more. But as their interactions continue and they see each other in new light, and Violet makes her move. It starts out a bit forced, but honestly, that works for these characters and their situations. And then things heat up quite nicely with their heated words and actions. Gives me hope for my age group!
While I loved the overall story, there were a few slow spots to the story, or spots where I couldn’t keep everything straight. Again, possible due to not reading the first three books in the series first. But overall I loved the storyline and interesting plot twists. Ms. Valente definitely writes some very comedic dialogue and situations, but can also make the serious situations relatable and understandable.
I think I’d like to go back and read the beginning of the series. My tastes in books keeps evolving and I’ve read the gamut from historical to young adult to college and this one of my first books with characters that had older children and were older than me. It was well written and I enjoyed it

Happy reader here. We get another Hunter brother to devour and drool over. This is Deacon Hunter’s turn at HEA but will he find it with the gorgeous Violet Boden? Violet works for his brother Tristan and he has seen her once or twice but when they run into each other at a party, masquerade party, the sparks fly. That is until Violet realizes her masked panty melter is Deacon. She slams on the brakes for this oh so delicious moment to only regret it later.
This series has given me so many swoon moments and this one follows suit. This story gives us an older couple. Deacon is the oldest of the Hunter men so he is full grown and all alpha man. Violet has raised her daughters and dealt with her husband leaving for a younger woman and now it’s time for her to take her life by the reins and head for her future. She is just surprised what her future holds.
Loved the story of “adults” for a change. Nice to read about a couple in their 40’s instead of 20’s. There are lots of twists and turns to their story and surprises for sure. I loved Violet and her independence and love for animals. I loved Deacon and his strong will but also sweet soft side. My only real drawback, which isn’t bad, is I wish we would have gotten to catch up with the rest of the family too. They are all such great characters it would have been nice to reunite with all the Hunter men and their families.
I received an early copy to read and review and give my honest opinion. I loved it and recommend it.
Loved it! So great on several layers! Huge fan of enemy to lovers because there is always an underlying fire just waiting for the combustible chemistry to ignite, and Deacon and Violet did not disappoint! The whole “take charge” military/fireman element was intriguing too. I loved their playfulness, their banter, and how they found their own definitions of what they wanted and who they wanted to be. Very sweet, plenty hopeful and the kind of story I needed right now with the right amount of heat and laughter to keep me turning the pages.
Watch out because not only will Deacon melt your panties off but he will also leave your heart a soft pile of goo while he’s at it. I love over 40 romance and Deacon and Violet’s story is truly a Lili Valente special infused with just the right amount of heat, humor and heart. It is a fun, flirty and sexy story but there is a side of serious too. These two characters are so real and lovable and their stories are so relatable. They are both over 40, divorced and have older children. They both have stories and pasts but realize a kindred spirit in the other. Their chemistry is flammable and when they finally drop the match all bets are off. I mean they are 5 alarm hot together!! This story went in a direction I wasn’t expecting but I love how it was all handled in the end. Things are definitely not always easy when children are involved, as life never is, which is what makes this such a relatable story.
