The year is 1946. Claire Randall is a British ex-combat nurse on a postwar second honeymoon with her husband in the Scottish Highlands. Walking alone one afternoon, she passes through a circle of standing stones and is hurled back in time to a Scotland simmering with war in the year of our Lord 1743. Catapulted into an intrigue of rival clans and rising armies that threatens her life, she’s obliged to wed James Fraser, a gallant young Scots warrior, as the only way to survive. Thus begins a series of unrivaled storytelling that has become a modern classic. This bundle includes:

Wonderful time travel books. They are long and have lots of detail. I love to listen on audio because I get the accents of there tongue. Now there is a TV Series out. I hope they will do the whole books. But read or listen 1st they are amazing!
Diana Gabaldon is an excellent author. I have loved each of he books and short stories. As anAmerican searching for my Scottish roots. I really enjoyed the richness and fullness of a life my ancestors might have lived. Diana is an excellent reasearcher so historically, I was drawn into what often times was a real possibility. I cannot rave about her writing enough. Except I want the story to continue!
This is a totally original story with unforgettable characters. The books follow Clair, who accidentally travels 200 years into the past, where she meets Jamie and begins a journey of love, survival and heartbreaking decisions. Their story spans 25 years, 2 centuries, wars, deaths, births, danger, happiness and heartache. The writing style makes the books come alive and you’ll find yourself laughing out loud (as I did, laughing so hard I couldn’t stop!), crying, jumping for joy and eagerly turning pages to find out what happens next. These books are not a love story. They are some of everything and will appeal to women and men. I challenge anyone to read this series and not come away feeling like the characters are friends you have known forever. And although they might not want to admit it, everyone who has read these books, has found themselves, at least once (just out of curiosity mind you!) searching to see if there is circle of standing stones anywhere near by!
I’ve read the Outlander series “big books” twice and each of the novellas once. I am desperately awaiting book nine. There is no one genre that these books fit into. The characters become like family members. If book nine doesn’t come out by the end of 2018 I may have re-read the series just because I’m missing Claire and Jaime so much!
Great characters and descriptions of Scotland and its tragic history. I used to be an Anglophile but my sympathies are with the Scottish now.
What can I say about this complete series. Excellent. Claire and Jamie are the couple to watch. I was so happy to see these books come to television. I highly recommend reading the 1000 plus page books. The storyline is so entertaining.
I love Diana Gabaldon’s writing. Amazing books with great characters. I recommend the entire Outlander series to everyone.
I have read them all, back to back. One book is not enough!! The characters are all so real in your mind while reading! Some you love, some you love to hate! Thought provoking people and situations. If I say too much you won’t read them. Enjoy!
From the moment you meet Claire, you know you have stumbled into something. Than you meet Jamie and you know you will never look back
Take nut one step through the stones and realize your future is the past.
Diana Gabaldon is high up in the pantheon of my favorite authors. Her originality and profound sense of humanity coupled w/ meticulous research yield novels densely packed
I have thoroughly enjoyed the STARZ version but the books are even more amazing! Outlander is my favorite book of all time! I’ve always wanted to visit Scotland but this series made me want to go ASAP
This was a series I couldn’t put down and waited eagerly for the next book. The author actually made going back in time seem possible and made the past very real.
Quite possibly the most stunning series to hit the book stands in years. Beautifully written. The depth of story and characters is unparalleled. Thankfully it is not a quick read because you will treasure every minute spent, completely enthralled in this epic adventure/love story. I could not get enough and when I finally finished, I reread the entire set. This series will stand the test of time.
Read this series many times, I don’t with every book, with these I can’t stop.
Jamie truly is the king of men. Time travel has never been my genre, however, this story sucks you into the lush reality of the Scottish Highlands. Diana brings you along on Claire and Jamie’s passionate yet tragic relationship. You will cry, smile and feel so many emotions while reading this series. I can’t wait for the next book.
Action, history, romance, and memorable characters makes these books addictive.
I love Diana Gabaldon, I bought all her books, her writing is Magic, once you start readin reading you just can’t stop!! She is a wonderful writer! don’t wait anymore get her books! and Thank you Diana!
Excellent
Loved the whole series! The books are loooong, but oh so worth the effort. These characters will stick with you and you’ll be eager for each new adventure . Love the strong female characters too.
I started way back when… some of the books are better than others. Some drag a bit. I really didn’t care that much about Claire’s life with Roger after she went back through the stones. But overall, it is extremely well-written & always leaves you wanting a Jamie of your own. ; )
