She was his best-kept secret …
In an isolated village in the mountains of Andalusia, a mysterious Frenchwoman begins work on a dangerous memoir. It is the story of a man she once loved in the Beirut of old, and a child taken from her in treason’s name. The woman is the keeper of the Kremlin’s most closely guarded secret. Long ago, the KGB inserted a mole into the heart of the West—a mole who stands on the doorstep of ultimate power.
Only one man can unravel the conspiracy: Gabriel Allon, the legendary art restorer and assassin who serves as the chief of Israel’s vaunted secret intelligence service. Gabriel has battled the dark forces of the new Russia before, at great personal cost. Now he and the Russians will engage in a final epic showdown, with the fate of the postwar global order hanging in the balance.
Gabriel is lured into the hunt for the traitor after his most important asset inside Russian intelligence is brutally assassinated while trying to defect in Vienna. His quest for the truth will lead him backward in time, to the twentieth century’s greatest act of treason, and, finally, to a spellbinding climax along the banks of the Potomac River outside Washington that will leave readers breathless.
Fast as a bullet, hauntingly beautiful, and filled with stunning double-crosses and twists of plot, The Other Woman is a tour de force that proves once again that “of all those writing spy novels today, Daniel Silva is quite simply the best” (Kansas City Star).

I read every book that Silva has put out. This one was no exception. They are great.
Love Daniel Silva and his main character Gabriel Allon. I cannot wait for him to write the next book. Superb writing. Excellent story plots. The very best!
The recurring characters in this book are full-fleshed and consistent from book to book. This may not be the most gripping of Daniel Silva’s novels, but it is still a great read. This series also enlightens the reader as to the inner workings of diplomacy in the world. The only problem is waiting months and months for the next one to come out.
I love all the books in this series. They never disappoint. I recommend starting at the first and reading all 18. Great characters, wonderful reads.
Book was good, not his best but he does not write a bad novel. We love Gabriel and Chiara and all the Israel characters.
Like all of the books in the Gabriel Allon series, you want to get to the end to find out what happens, but you don’t want the book to end. Very realistic fiction offering a peek into what we can easily believe is the secret world of spies and international intelligence agencies.
Loved the book! Have enjoyed all of his books. Can’t wait until the next one
I was a bit disappointed in this book in comparison to other Daniel Silva books. A decision made by Gabriel Allon, the main character was not in keeping with his previous actions in the previous books.
An exceptional book from a great author. The Gabriel Alon story keeps getting better. The storylines are slowly transitioning this series for the better. I really like this series. This book really hits the mark. The storyline is tight. The writing makes me want to be there wherever Gabriel is. I cannot think of a better book that I have read in a long time.
Wonderfully entertaining as always with Silva’s books!!!
I have been a fan of Silva for many years & have read all the Allon books as they appeared. This one has not measured up to its predecessors. It is lacking in a strong narrative, suspense & action. Even Gabriel has become a beaurocrat and relatively dull. I gave it 3 stars out of respect for its grand tradition.
I thought it was interesting and informative about what’s going on now in the USA. He is an excellent writer.
Very fast moving
Getting a little too formulaic
Fiction but relevant.
One of my favorite authors!
love the Gabriel Allon series
Daniel Silva is a captivating author. His books are realistic and always fist on my list to read. Will not dissappoint.
Although the newer Gabriel Allon books are never as good as the earliest ones in the long series, nevertheless this one brings the story into present-day politics, with recognizable (although unnamed) present-day world leaders. Always a good read.
Dan Silva novels seem real and the characters true to life. I’ve read all the novels in the series featuring the main character, Gabriel Allon. Great writing.
