She was his best-kept secret …
In an isolated village in the mountains of Andalusia, a mysterious Frenchwoman begins work on a dangerous memoir. It is the story of a man she once loved in the Beirut of old, and a child taken from her in treason’s name. The woman is the keeper of the Kremlin’s most closely guarded secret. Long ago, the KGB inserted a mole into the heart of the West—a mole who stands on the doorstep of ultimate power.
Only one man can unravel the conspiracy: Gabriel Allon, the legendary art restorer and assassin who serves as the chief of Israel’s vaunted secret intelligence service. Gabriel has battled the dark forces of the new Russia before, at great personal cost. Now he and the Russians will engage in a final epic showdown, with the fate of the postwar global order hanging in the balance.
Gabriel is lured into the hunt for the traitor after his most important asset inside Russian intelligence is brutally assassinated while trying to defect in Vienna. His quest for the truth will lead him backward in time, to the twentieth century’s greatest act of treason, and, finally, to a spellbinding climax along the banks of the Potomac River outside Washington that will leave readers breathless.
Fast as a bullet, hauntingly beautiful, and filled with stunning double-crosses and twists of plot, The Other Woman is a tour de force that proves once again that “of all those writing spy novels today, Daniel Silva is quite simply the best” (Kansas City Star).

Read all the books with Gabriel Allon, the main character in this series, and have enjoyed them all. I eagerly await the next one.
I have read ALL 17 Previous Book by the Great Author Daniel Silva. This is his latest of the Gabriel All Series. In my view it helps if you do read the previous books in Order 1-17 etc. I did enjoy it but the story line is quite different to previous style. His earlier books are Bad Guys (Terrorist-bad guys) and his journey to ‘get them’ which always does with enjoyable style.
This Book is Spy’s only theme-English/Israeli/Russian and a minor involvement of the CIA. As usual he is an excellent story teller and weaves a great story line.
I do recommend this latest Book.
Not one of his best but entertaining in any case. As usually Silva makes you feel like you are at a King Saul Blvd with the dedicated Israelis. Sorry there wasn’t more about Gabriel’s interactions with the PM and his family. Compelling and original story.
I love Daniel Silva books – they are predictable by always very enjoyable
What you have come to expect of this writer and characters – depth, thoughtful, challenging and a great read.
Another really good Gabriel Allon book from Daniel Silva. I only wish that Gabriel Allon was a larger part of the stories, in terms of more art restoration, less being the top guy at The Office.
I don’t think Daniel Silva knows how to write anything other than a five-star novel, and this is just a continuation of his series of outstanding books!
Not as good as the other books in this series. Glad it isn’t the first I’d ever read or I would never have read any others.
not so easy to get into, not up to his earlier great stories
This book was the first book by Daniel Silva that did not live up to all the others that he has written. Too bad!!!
Love all Silva’s books. This was as good as his others.
I love Daniel’s books and have read all of them This is one of his best.
My favorite author in this genre.
Daniel Silva is always a great read. This one does not disappoint. It maintains his normal high standard for intricate plotting and believable story. Excellent characters.
Daniel Silva is a great author and this is a great read
If you only follow one, let it be Allon
Daniel Silva’s characters are my favorite in fiction. Never disappointed with his books
The Other Woman is a beautifully written and well researched book with a great deal of backstory in France, Italy, Isreal, and the Middle East. With the usual characters set in Jerusalem, Silva paints a mother-daughter journey from London to Washington and back. It’s quite a read.
Silva is my favorite author. His writing is captivating: the depth of his characters, the complexity of his storylines, the clarity of his wording , and the sophistication of his style continue to astound me.
Another great Silva offering, no surprise there, but now I have to wait another year for the next.
