A mesmerising psychological thriller from one of the greatest crime writers of today, Michael Robotham, the internationally bestselling author of THE SECRETS SHE KEEPS.
Praise for Michael Robotham’s writing:
‘Will have you turning the pages compulsively’ The Times
‘Robotham doesn’t just make me scared for his characters, he makes my heart ache for them’ Linwood Barclay
‘Superbly exciting … a terrific read’ Guardian
‘A nerve-shredding thriller with the heart and soul so often missing from lesser crime and suspense novels. I couldn’t stop reading, yet I didn’t want Audie’s story to end. Robotham is an absolute master’ Stephen King on Life or Death

Keeps you guessing !
Enjoyed the protagonist; had not read this series before, will back up and read from the beginning.
Characters didn’t seem real; too contrived. Ridiculous situation and unreal reactions. Disappointing.
This book had a very interesting premise and was a good summer read. While not great literature, it is well written and kept me interested from the beginning.
Loved the plot, mystery and characters
The title of the book doesn’t accurately tell the reader what the book is going to be about. I thought it would be one more psychological thriller about “the other wife”. Not even close. So much better! One of the best books I have read in a very long time. It kept me turning pages far into the night. I know that’s a cliche’ in these book reviews, but absolutely true in this case. Any reader who loves a great mystery with an ending that can’t be predicted will enjoy this book. Definitely, a 5 star book.
Much better than I thought it would be and very happy that I read it. Excellent writing.
This book will keep you reading just to try to understand the lives of each of the characters. And as far as “who done it” goes believe me i never figured it out until the author revealed it.
Did not expect the ending
This novel has quite the convoluted plot with many available suspects in the wide-ranging cast of characters. I have to admit that I did not have a clue until the very end. There were a couple of times I was sure who did it, but then had my theory dashed. A well constructed mystery that also delves into the human mind as it processes pivotal events in our lives.
This was an okay book. Not special but not awful. Average.
This author is an amazing writer. Loved this book. Will read more of him in the future.
I loved it! The main character is slowly enlightened to the man his father was, unlike the man he thought he was. This is often the case when grown children learn the realities of their parents lives, as it is very different than their childhood perceptions.
Awesome read‼
IT had an interesting plot but got here and there a little unbelievable. Was ok
Not many likeable characters, and totally unrealistic.
Very good. Great character development. Four+ stars.
If you are looking for a book that you can’t put down, this is it! The story is engaging from the outset then twists around unexpected events. This is not a beach read, it’s an all-nighter!
Interesting perspective on family Dynamics when one member engaged in bigamy, theft, illness and death.
I was on the right path but missed a clue. Kept me wondering where the story would go and end. Loved this book
