I was eight years old when I found out I had a father. It was the same day I held my dead mother in my arms while praying her life wasn’t really over.I was dropped into the middle of a new family not long after that. My dad, his wife, and their two kids to be exact. My new brother was ten years old and my sister was five. It doesn’t take a genius to figure out I wasn’t supposed to be there. My … there.
My family ended up bigger than that though. My dad was a member of the Aces High Motorcycle Club. From the very beginning I was ostracized because of who my mother had been. The daughters of club members were generally known as MC Princesses. My little sister was one. My title was a bit different, and proved that my mom’s sins would always be held against me. I was The Other Princess.
My family, both by blood and MC ties, did wrong by me so I walked away from them. That was until he came home from the Army.
He tried to fix everything.
He tried to win an unattainable heart that had shut down years earlier.
I would know since it was my heart he was after.
He didn’t realize it would take a miracle.
Secretly, I hoped I could still believe in miracles.

I’m an emotional mess after reading this book, this is the most profound emotional book ever. I cried a lot for this character, yes I know it’s fiction but sometimes there’s a way a book resonate with you that it feels like it’s your actual life that you’re reading about. Author Christine Michelle have me after this book, she really do have me. If you need a good cry this book is definitely it, there are good cry and bad cry. I cried and I felt better afterwards, it made me realize about certain stuff that’s been happening in my life, Thank You Author Christine Michelle for the most life altering riveting story ever.
WOW! This was such a great start to a new series! I read MC books often and this one blew me away! I loved how Ever dealt with all the hurt and pain she has experienced due to the callous acts of her supposide family! I highly recommend and can’t wait to start the next book!
Christine has created an immersive world with her overarching Aces High Motorcycle Club series, but this book gives readers a look at the family drama side of MC life.
The Other Princess is a story about what happens when the club fails to protect one of their own, and how much of an impact that both irresponsible actions and actions of loved ones can have on a young girl.
You will definitely cry through this one, but it’s worth it.
*this is not a paid review, but want readers to know that I do edit for her and know her personally. This is an honest review.*
Now I fully understand why this book is praised so much lately! This was an amazing book and one I will never forget. It has easily become a favorite for the year.
Such an emotional story filled with what we know comes with MC books. But it took on a whole new level of emotions… This book brought me to tears so many times and I lost track of how many times it broke my heart. At one point, I couldn’t stop adding bookmarks because despite everything that happened, it made me smile a lot at the end.
I cannot wait to continue this series and read more of Christine’s books!!
Beautifully narrated by Sarah Puckett and D C Cole (oh my goodness his low growly voice!!!). Such emotion and empathy just pulled me right in and I forgot that I was listening to just one person.
When you consider the theme of the book it somehow seems wrong to say I really loved it. But I did, I loved it. The characters are so beautifully written, I felt what they were going through with them. My emotions followed theirs on the roller coaster they went on. There was more than one time I wanted to slap people silly for what they were doing, yes I got that involved. My only quibble is the epilogue…I’m really not at all sure who they were talking about. It hasn’t ruined the book just left me with questions….
This is my first Christine Michelle’s book. This is the first book in the Aces High MC – Charleston Series. Ever and Declan’s story is great. Ever is a strong character. Her story is heartbroken. Declan is a handsome and protective character. They share a beautiful chemistry. I can’t wait for the next book in the Series. Sarah Puckett and DC Cole did an amazing job with the narration. They are both great narrators. #AudiobookObsession
This emotionally poignant story shows how the consequence of a few harmfully uttered words can change the life of an eight year old girl, even into her young adulthood. One brave young man helped set straight the repercussions of the rift.
Sarah Puckett and DC Cole narrated this thought provoking and beautiful story.

The other Princess, it was a roller coaster of emotions a sad story of Ever trying to survive her own family who constantly rejects her and talk and do things to her that no kid should go through.. She was very miss understood and judged by the mistakes and burdens of her parents and past. she was fighting for people to see her from whom she was but there was no one around her who will help her face the fears and sadness she constantly felt..
it really made me feel very emotional to hear what Ever was going through, how mean they were to just a child.. she lost all her hopes and dreams at such a young age, thinking this was her life. but sooner or later someone will finally see the truth and set her free.
Life has many scenarios and Ever didn’t expect what Deck was about to offer, he is her knight in shining armor, who is coming to finally set things straight with Ever and her family, he didn’t know things were this bad, he was out overseas clueless about what was happening back home.. Deck, is strong, bold and he won’t take anything from anybody when it comes to Ever he will do everything to see her smile..
Overall the story was good, with the right amount of angst and situations that will keep you super interested and hooked to the story..

The Other Princess: Aces High MC
Aces High MC – Charleston, Book 1
By: Christine Michelle, Christine M. Butler
Narrated by: Sarah Puckett, D.C. Cole
Wow, this story just blew me away! Christine Michelle is a new to me author and I will definitely be checking out some of her other work. “The Other Princess” is a beautiful story, one that tugs at your heart. It well written, well told story and completely captivating, once I started the book I did not want to put it down. It is not your typical MC story, it is so much more. The characters are well developed, Ever, the lead character is the star of the story, well it is her story and how her family and the MC club treated her. She did not have an easy life, her Mom died when she was 8 and she was delivered to her father, one she did not even know existed. She was not welcomed by all with open arms, but that first day her new brother, Toby told her everything will be ok, that he and his friend Jay would protect her. Unfortunately it did not turn out that way when they betrayed her. The author did a great job capturing how cruel teenage bullying could go. My heart went out to Ever, I was so glad Lucy, her stepmom was there for her when all the drama played out. I adored Ever’s strength and how she set out to make her own life. I appreciated when Declan came into the picture, loved how supportive he was, how patient he was with her and his idea to help her heal. He is a true hero. But can a broken person be healed, can those who broke her be forgive. I highly recommend this story, it takes you on an emotional rollercoaster ride, there is drama, angst, heartache, romance, friendship and learning to let go, learning to forgive, learning to really live. Christine Michelle, thank you for this great story, I am looking forward to the next in the series.
I listened to the Audible edition, narrated but he talented Sarah Puckett and D.C. Cole. They are awesome voice performers. They bring the characters to life, give each their own voice and personality. Their performances reflects the emotions of the characters, Sarah’s Ever was just heart wrenching at times, she allowed you to feel her pain and raw emotion. I loved D.C. Cole’s Declan too. Both are entertaining storytellers and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for this great listen.

I tried, I really did, but this book just didn’t work for me. With all the four and five star reviews I thought I had found a new author. I read the sample and decided to give it a try, I was very disappointed. I must be in the minority here, because I have a completely different view of this book then others. I thought the premise was good and that there was a lot of potential in the story, but felt the author dropped the ball on actual follow through.
There are editing errors that were distracting: words missing or incorrect word tense used. The main female character was whiney and overly dramatic. I understand her reasoning and felt she was mostly justified, but there comes a point when I stop listening because its the same whine over and over again with no action to change. I liked her relationship with her step mom and best friend but that was it. She also spoke too formal and introspective for a 8, 15 or 19 year old. The author tried to explain things using the characters dialogue and it just felt too textbook, too clinical at times.
The brother and best friend and (at times) the father and club brothers were just basic high school whiney men. Thinking that just because they wore a patch they didn’t have to have facts, justification or reasoning for their actions ir word. I very much disliked them all. There were no redeeming characteristics.
The MC was like nothing I have ever read before. I am not sure the author knows anything about MC’s in fiction because she made up all her own rules. This would not have been a problem for me if the rules made sense, but they felt too childish and high school-ish. The brothers had a ceremony to ask forgiveness from a high school girl because she was made fun of? Still not sure about this.
The book is slow to progress because of the constant re-telling of the same stories over and over again. As a reader, I have a pretty good memory and once an event in mentioned (in detail) I don’t need it repeated to me another eight times. I get it. The author had trouble with this and every time a new character learned about the event or asked about it, the entire story was repeated. Got annoying fast.
While I really tried to enjoy this story there were just too many issues to ignore and I ended up not enjoying this read. I finished it, because I was hoping it got better but it really didn’t. There is a HEA so there is that…
WOW WHAT A TEAR-JERKER!
I LOVED THIS BOOK! I’ve had this book in my library for quite awhile and finally decided to read it and HOLY CRAP! I’m kicking myself in the rear now. Lol. It’s an emotional rollercoaster ride you don’t want to get off of. This isn’t your usual MC story, it’s really tame, this MC family isn’t about turf wars or drugs, guns, etc… it’s very family oriented with all the trials and tribulations any family could go through, some worse than others. This revolves around a Ever Lee a young girl who has gone through the devastation of losing her mother right in front of her then she gets sent to a family she’s never met her father and his wife and kids and his MC family and was not welcomed by everyone. Some treated her horribly calling her the other princess of a whore. The sins of the mother I guess but should never have been put upon the daughter. The heartbreak Ever has to endure at times had me crying the ugly cry. Right from the start I was crying so hard I thought, Oh Wow, if I’m crying like this at the beginning what am I gonna be like by the end of the book? Lol. I fell in love with Ever’s character. In the beginning she’s she’s a scared little girl and as she grows she’s forced to toughen up but she’s still vulnerable growing stronger everyday but when she tiny reaches her breaking point she takes control of her own life without her family and their betrayal. This author has such an easy writing style that it makes it easy to engage the reader. This book had me so consumed I almost completed it in one day. When an old friend returns from the Army, Declan/Deck finds out the hell his family of brothers both MC and blood have done to this beautiful soul he’s fit to be tied. What he finds is this once young girl has grown into a gorgeous woman built with curves in all the right places. He gets so twisted up in Ever that the more he gets to know her again he knows she’s it for him. Ever is an artist who channels her emotions through her art and becomes an amazing tattoo artist which becomes the beginning of the end for her heart ache. This book didn’t have any of the laughter, suspense and excitement I’m used to in an MC story but it’s so touching I loved every minute of it. I only gave it 4 stars because I like more of the intensity of those things and more sex scenes. There is one beautifully written scene but I would have liked to have had more. The ending was alittle confusing to me. We’re not told who Ever and Deck visit in the end which left me kind of upset. I assume who it is but I would have liked to have known for sure. Maybe I’ll find out in another book in the series. If you’re looking for a nice highly emotional read then I definitely recommend this book.
Here’s a phrase I never thought I would write There was too much grovel in a MC book, but there was too much grovel.
Eight year old heroine is taken in by her father and his new family and things don’t go well. At first, her brother and his best friend (the love of her life) take care of her until puberty kicks in and the guys lose brain cells as the chicks come swarming and making up mean things about the heroine. More mean things are said by the male contingency including the biker gang and her dad. Poor biker form. Tack needs to come in and kick some biker butt, but I guess he has his hands full in his own fictional MC universe consoling the CHAOS crew for not getting to kill Benito Valenzuela after a million years of turf warfare. So the heroine ends up taking care of business by shutting down even more emotionally, moving out and going to work for a competing tattoo shop. Chick is stone cold.
Once the H, the older and much wiser brother to the love-of-her-life-that-is-now-dead-to-her rides into town and gets a hold of the situation he works to make it better for the grudge holding heroine and, man, can she hold a grudge. Can’t say I blame her, but the monologuing and lecturing wore me out after a while. I enjoyed most of it as who doesn’t want to see a hurt heroine do what we want so many heroines to do, grow a spine and make them suffer. But the crying finally got to me, and when I say crying I’m talking about the less-than-Alpha 1%ers.
Virginal, never-even-went-to-prom heroine finds true love with a really nice guy, and comes up with a nifty way to make her point to the beta bikers that was both fun to read and totally ridiculous.
Four stars for a heroine who knows how lay out an epic guilt trip, but sometimes less is more.
Absolutely loved this story. This was a highly emotional journey to go on. This story broke my heart, kept me enthralled, captivated, and left me breathless in the end. I do not think I have read anything like this before. I enjoyed every heartbreaking moment of this story.
This was the first book by Christine Michelle that I read. It made me want to read more of her works. I loved Ever and her ability to survive.
What an emotional ride. I will warn you there is a very high chance of some ugly crying when listening to this book. So much tragedy and betrayal happens that your heart will just break. We do find out happy ending but it is a long ride to get there.
The narration was amazing. This is the first time I’ve heard these two together and I have to say it is a match in heaven. Give stars are the way around.
3.5 Stars! The Aces High MC series is an interesting one, to be sure. The Other Princess is only my second book in the universe, but the entire MC has grabbed my attention in an undeniable way.
Summary:
From the age of eight, Ever Lee Brothers has felt like an outsider. To be honest, she felt different even before she moved in with her father’s family. At least, when she had her mom, she was able to come to terms with all she didn’t have. But that all changed when she gained a new family. Learning that you have a father, alive and well in the world, is a shock. Especially for a child. Learning that father already has a family is awkward and daunting. How does a middle child fit in to a family when she wasn’t born to the mother? Ever finds that she doesn’t. Not at all, and it’s not just her blood family that teaches her these lessons. It’s also a large, close-knit biker family that get their licks in. Known as “the other princess”, Ever spends her teen years navigating a world where she’s not really wanted, and all because of who her mother was. It doesn’t matter that her stepmom welcomed her as her own, or that Ever was a great kid. And then another kind of hell breaks loose. With one interaction, Ever’s world is torn apart beyond repair. Not just ostracized, but now actively and continually hated and scorned, Ever is forced to distance herself as much as possible. But distance doesn’t stop the hurt or prevent all hope of dying. Nothing does, until he comes home. Declan Donovan. He’s home from the Army, and stunned at what he finds, both from Ever and the only family he’s ever known. He’s determined to fix everything, though. Right all the wrongs and heal the breach, repairing the family that doesn’t understand they are broken. But can he win Ever’s heart as he tries to heal it? If he’s to succeed, he’ll have his work cut out for him, and it may come down to a very hard decision. It’ll take a miracle and the belief in one to obtain a heart that’s been shut down for more than ten years.
**************************
While the books in this series are very much a part of the overall Aces High MC universe, the Charleston chapter has very little to do with conflict outside the club. The Other Princess is all about family, both blood and patch. The conflict is between members of the MC. Our heroine, Ever, was grossly mistreated. I’m not sure I would have had as big a heart as her if I went through the same. She was strong, smart, loyal, and stubborn. But she was also broken. She had low self-esteem, and didn’t realize her own self-worth after the pain, neglect, and disdain she endured. Our hero, Declan, was her savior and absolutely swoon-worthy. He reappeared in her life, and without hesitation, took her back, stood up for her, and tried to fix the wrongs committed against her. Declan was protective and possessive, as well as smart and compassionate. I adored that it was all about Ever as soon as he laid eyes on her again. For the most part, I thought their relationship progressed naturally. Declan had a lot to learn about the new Ever, but he took that task on and didn’t give up. He made a mistake or two, but he immediately went about fixing it, and even opened Ever’s eyes to her stubbornness keeping a distance between them. Their intimacy was both sweet and sexy. Declan gave Ever exactly what she needed, physically and emotionally. I also liked that the focus didn’t become about sex as it often is in books like this. Overall, this was an interesting read. The focus was completely on the blood and patch family and very emotional. A lot of characters had to face some hard truths, as well as atone for grave mistakes made. My heart broke for all Ever went through, and everyone in her life but Declan was responsible. That said, I still enjoyed reading about all of the characters. I wasn’t sure the author would be able to bring this to a satisfying close, but surprisingly, it worked out well. Just when I thought there was no understanding a situation or scene, a character laid it all out where it not only made sense, but also touched the reader deeply. For me, this book ends in a happy for now, not HEA. While Ever’s story was told, there seems to be quite a bit more for us to learn. I’m not enamoured of the ending since it’s hinted that we lose someone important. I’m nervous about that, and sad just anticipating it. I haven’t decided if I’ll read more of this MC chapter, but it’s a good possibility. It would be hard to not find out how it all happens.
This story brought me to tears more than once. I am a huge fan of MC books and I went into this knowing that this was a different kind of MC story than I’m used to, so I was prepared for the lack of club drama and sex that usually shows up in this genre. This was more of a family drama and it was just so so good. Early on we meet young Ever Brothers, a girl who has lost her mother and just met her father, the club’s VP, and his wife and children. She’s not well-received by her father’s club and is not accepted like the other club kids. When she’s 15, she suffers a horrible humiliation from her brother’s best friend, and future club member, in front of the entire high school, which leads to her having the saddest and most tragic teen life one can think of. When she’s a few years older, club member Declan returns from the Army and begins to set things right for Ever while slowly falling in love with her. Declan comes up with a plan for Ever to express her pain and feelings to the club members who wronged her most, including her own father and brother, and she begins to not only rebuild her relationship with her family and club but also begins to heal inside as well. It’s a twisted route that has to be taken in order to get to the end of this story, but it’s entirely worth it. Don’t go into this thinking you’re getting a rough, rugged, and wild MC romance. But if you’re looking for a real heartfelt introduction to a fantastic MC family, look no further. This was the first book I read from this author, but I own several of her books from this series and the companion serieses and I can’t wait to jump into all of those next!
This was one hell of an emotional rollercoaster. Ever goes threw hell and comes out stronger. My heart went out for her. Declan is so sweet and caring. They complete each other. I can’t wait to read more.
