A wonderfully twisty suspense novel that hooked me from the start and had me guessing until the very end. A fantastic debut.
Two women are watching each other. One knows why indeed. If you enjoy plot twists, dark secrets and gasping with shock, then you’ll enjoy this page turner. The plot was unpredictable and refreshing with details.
The Other Mrs. Miller by Allison M. Dickson might be the funnest, most drama-filled domestic drama debut I have ever read. I really liked the three different viewpoints, including the mysterious one, and I loved how suspenseful it was up until the suspense was gone and you basically knew what was going to happen. There are definitely some twists and turns before that though, and even when I thought I knew *exactly* what was going to happen, I really didn’t know the full story. Overall though, this is a very entertaining read which is part of the reason I liked it so much. There were lots of “oh sh*t” moments and I ADORED the drama.
The Other Mrs. Miller is an incredibly quick read and also very addicting. I listened to the audio and thought Holly Palance completely nailed the narration of this book. They say narrators can make or break an audiobook and that is something I agree with completely, well you don’t have to worry about Palance because she is a star. This is a book you need to suspend disbelief for but if you want something that is super witty and fun then you are in for a treat. I can’t wait to read more from Dickson and will be excited to see what she writes next!
Thank you to the publisher for my advance review copy via Edelweiss. All opinions and thoughts are my own.
This is a recent favorite. Totally caught me by surprise, and I loved every twist and turn.
A wife is being followed and watched by someone lurking in the distance. A steamy affair with the neighborhood boy takes place while this mysterious person lurks on. A note comes to the doorstep. She is scared her secret affair will come out. Things turn bloody, then there’s a replacement wife. The neighbors are scared and might be in on it. A perfect who done it will keep you guessing and wondering why!!
Over the top, too much in every way, and requires an unreasonable suspension of disbelief.
I totes loved it.
Amazing. So many twists.
Some things were a little too “convenient”, but I had to stick with it to see where the author was going with the plot lines.
What a crazy ride! One really good psychological thriller. Yeh some things are far fetched but doesn’t matter; it was a page turner for me. Really enjoyed all the twists.
A splash of wine, a dollop of murder, a pinch of betrayal—the recipe for a thrilling page-turner!
Great read! Unpredictable and lots of twists and turns!
A fast-paced, addictive novel with a frightening premise but surprising humour throughout, which together make this a thoroughly enjoyable read.
Chock-full of tangled twists and domestic treachery, The Other Mrs. Miller will take your breath away and not give it back until the very last page. I devoured this book.
Deliciously devious, I got caught up in the twists and tangles between these women, desperate to unravel them through the very last page.

The death of wealthy Daniel Noble to pancreatic cancer exposes his controversial and philandering life style. The controlling and domineering business man seemed to leave a wake of disgruntled women including his daughter Phoebe. She is married to Wyatt Miller, a therapist, living in an affluent neighborhood.
Since I am not a person who likes to write reviews with spoilers, this will be challenging. While Phoebe tries to self medicate her grief after her father’s death when his notorious lifestyle makes headlines. Her once happy marriage seems to be falling apart which is of little concern to her as she falls deeper into her dark depression. Wyatt fears for her sanity as she insists that someone is spying on her.
Phoebe’s obsession with the dark car parked on her street almost daily is side tracked when a family moves in across the street. She becomes fascinated with Vicki and Ron Napier and their athletic teenage son, Jake who don’t seem to fit into the neighborhood. Ron Napier is a physician who relocated abruptly following a mysterious departure from his last job. Her new neighbor Vicki starts to ingratiate herself into Phoebe’s life and soon provides intriguing excitement to her once dreary existence.
While Phoebe is trying to figure out what secrets the Napiers are hiding, she starts to receive mysterious threatening messages on her doorstep. Her reality starts to unravel the more she learns about her neighbors and why they still have not furnished their rented home. Meanwhile, her paranoia regarding the mysterious car and threatening messages escalates.
Is Phoebe losing her mind as everyone seems to claim? Are her fears and suspicions real or just her imagination? How well do you really know people? Is there a logical reason for this car to be parked on her street? This story takes you on a rollercoaster ride of emotions and suspense.
