Enjoyed the history mixed in with learning a little bit about England in the 1500’s
Historical novels are my favorite. Phillipa Gregory always writes a wonderful book. Love or Hate the characters but never ambivalent about the main characters/
My first book by Gregory. I read many more after that one!
Based on actual events and people. It was interesting but dragged in places and was too long.
Readable, well-researched story of the sister we don’t often hear about.
It’s easy history
I love reading about the Tudors and their court. If you love history, you probably already know the ending, but read it any way.
Well written and researched, this novel, while fiction, portrays a keen sense of place and time. Absolute favorite book by Phillipea Gregory. I actually broke the spine of the paperback in few places so now it flops open in about 3 places. The book is much better than the movie. It focuses more on Mary than Anne, unlike the movie.
Interesting view of politics and plotting during the reign of Henry VIII
absolutely have loved and read all of P. Gregory’s books.
Philippa Gregory is one of my favorite authors. I feel like I am right in the story with the characters.
Love Phillipa Gregory’s books. She bri gs history to life.
Better than the movie.
A bit of a cross between historical fiction and an old school bodice ripper. I mean that in a good way!
I have read most of the books written by this author loved all of them
want to reread!
Didn’t finish it. I didn’t like the main characters.
Another good book from Phillipa Gregory.
I have read most of the books this author has written. She paints a realistic view of the intrigue ,romance, and history found in the lives of ancient British royalty.
