Possible but predictable ending. Does have a bit of happily ever after ending
I really enjoyed this book about Anne’s older sister. It was very good and truly featured her over Anne. I was very disappointed at the movie that was based on this story – they again made Anne the main character, not as she was in the book.
I always learn so much about history from Phillipa Gregory. I love the stories she tells!
This one got me started on a whole series of historical novels …loved them
This is one of my favorite books. It tells the story of Mary Boleyn, sister to Queen Anne Boleyn, the second life of Henry VIII. Not a husband I would want to be married to.
It’s a good historical novel. I can tell that Philippa Gregory did a lot of research before writing this book.
Very entertaining historical fiction.
Fascinating! I love royalty and all their ordered and disordered lives. I was drawn in even as I felt she had no right to the title or to the throne.
This book gave me the confidence that it is all right to title a book vaguely. Therefore, I hope to write a story one day and start the title with “The Other _____ Girl!”
I love when historical characters are presented in this manner. This author has a wonderful knack for bringing them to life.
Wonderfully written. Historically accurate. Love all here books!
best Henry VIII I have read. Unforgettable characters.
This book took me back in time. Well written and fasanating. I couldn’t put it down.
This was an amazing book. The characters were intriguing. It made me want to learn more about the History of the time.
another Great Philippa Gregory book. I read them all!
One of the best of the best from historical fiction! Do i plan on sleeping!
I stayed up until 6:00 to finish this book. Even though I knew the outcome, I had to take the journey.
I did not know that Anne had a sister. Excellent read.
I loved learning about “the other Boleyn” and what comprised life for the Boleyn family in this time period.
Totally predictable, formulaic and trite.
Excellent story from the POV of Anne Boleyn’s sister, Mary, who was companion to the king before Anne took his favor and then died for it. The story-telling is wonderful and reels you in from page one. The made for TV movie was also very good, but I recommend the book over the movie. An excellent story well told.
I am normally not a fan of biographies or history (I read to escape reality), but I truly enjoy how the author weaves history with fiction to create a truly enjoyable novel!!
