The #1 New York Times bestseller from “the queen of royal fiction” (USA TODAY) Philippa Gregory is a rich, compelling novel of love, sex, ambition, and intrigue surrounding the Tudor court of Henry VIII, Anne Boleyn, and the infamous Boleyn family.
When Mary Boleyn comes to court as an innocent girl of fourteen, she catches the eye of the handsome and charming Henry VIII. Dazzled by the king, … VIII. Dazzled by the king, Mary falls in love with both her golden prince and her growing role as unofficial queen. However, she soon realizes just how much she is a pawn in her family’s ambitious plots as the king’s interest begins to wane, and soon she is forced to step aside for her best friend and rival: her sister, Anne. With her own destiny suddenly unknown, Mary realizes that she must defy her family and take fate into her own hands.
With more than one million copies in print and adapted for the big screen, The Other Boleyn Girl is a riveting historical drama. It brings to light a woman of extraordinary determination and desire who lived at the heart of the most exciting and glamorous court in Europe, and survived a treacherous political landscape by following her heart.

It was an interesting plot.
An enjoyable book….helps if you have some historical background. Interestingly written.
Epitome of well researched historical fiction
Fantastic look at an historical tragedy from the point of view of a character not as many people remember
Don’t typically pick historical fiction but this was a unique point of view and very engaging.
She’s always so good at historical books. I’ve met her in person several times at various writers conferences when we’ve both been speakers (MWC in the old days, in particular) and she is as vivacious in person as some of her characters. I’ve read several of her books and they are delightful ways to spend one’s free time.
History lite – fun, rich, insightful read – certainly brings that period into perspective and reminds us again and again the precarious position women have been in for survival on all levels for centuries.
Easy reading, great author, very entertaining.
I found this to be very interesting. I enjoy reading Tudor historical novels and this was not disappointing at all. I highly recommend it.
Not very accurate historically.
Great historical novel. Imagine it is partially true, but very entertaining like all of Gregory’s work.
Never had heard of the other sister before–true history wrapped in a fine novel.
My favorite of the Philippa Gregory books. The movie base on this book was good, but would have been much better if it had stuck to the details of the novel. Mary Boleyn is a fascinating person, and her relationship with her sister Anne is twisted by their affairs with Henry VIII.
Loved reading about Henry the 8th and his brides.
Read ages ago and one of my favorite girlie reads. A little steamy and according to this book” Bill Clinton”, did not have sex with that women.
One of my favorites!
Very good read
Great fictional book which presents history in a enjoyable fashion.
Learned a lot about history as well as enjoying it. Read more of Gregory’s books because of this one.
Historical fiction at it’s finest.
