The #1 New York Times bestseller from “the queen of royal fiction” (USA TODAY) Philippa Gregory is a rich, compelling novel of love, sex, ambition, and intrigue surrounding the Tudor court of Henry VIII, Anne Boleyn, and the infamous Boleyn family.
When Mary Boleyn comes to court as an innocent girl of fourteen, she catches the eye of the handsome and charming Henry VIII. Dazzled by the king, … VIII. Dazzled by the king, Mary falls in love with both her golden prince and her growing role as unofficial queen. However, she soon realizes just how much she is a pawn in her family’s ambitious plots as the king’s interest begins to wane, and soon she is forced to step aside for her best friend and rival: her sister, Anne. With her own destiny suddenly unknown, Mary realizes that she must defy her family and take fate into her own hands.
With more than one million copies in print and adapted for the big screen, The Other Boleyn Girl is a riveting historical drama. It brings to light a woman of extraordinary determination and desire who lived at the heart of the most exciting and glamorous court in Europe, and survived a treacherous political landscape by following her heart.

Philippa Gregory does great research on her characters and you feel like you really know them. This book was definitely not a happily ever after. Few people involved with Henry VIII ever had the chance. But the involvement in court intrigue makes you think it’s a wonder the kingdom survived.
Phillip a always writes a good book
Her research is outstanding . Recommend. Book club selection 3 yrs ago.
This book is a great read. A bit of history spun into and enchanting story,
I learned a lot about the time period of Anne Boleyn and the royalty. Good book.
Very good author, for an interesting series of books.
I have read this book so many times I’ve lost count!
I like historical fiction and this was a fun read. The salacious nature of the King’s court was entertaining in a voyeuristic way. This novel was a break out for Gregory and for the many copy cat books that came out after the appeal to an audience for this type of naughty history bloomed. For me, though, one of these books was enough.
Great!
It was a quick, sort of interesting read. But, I’m not a passenger on the Gregory love train, like a lot of readers. I think her work is just okay. There are others who do Tudor fiction a lot better, for my money.
Love all
The the Philippa Gregory books they are well researched and very entertaining. Keeps you enthralled from beginning to end.
Phillipa Gregory makes history come alive. She is a champion for these brave women who had so little control over their lives.
I love all her books
I had not read any of P. Gregory books until this one. It was tragic, realistic, and a page turner. I will be reading more of her books
This book got me hooked on everything to do with the Tudor time period and Philippa Gregory is amazing.
Another engrossing tale from Gregory, who makes history come alive.
Same old, same old… A completely played-out subject!
Liked the book because I enjoy reading about the Tudors and historical fiction makes it enjoyable.
An author with a wonderful ability to bring parts of history to the reader.
Interesting & enjoyable read
