City girl Janine Wilson’s career is taking off but the same can’t be said about her love life. No matter—as manager of the Inn at Blue Moon Bay, Janine’s in charge of throwing a huge party to celebrate the Inn’s recent expansion and doesn’t have time for distractions. Unfortunately, two big ones suddenly show up: her thrill-seeking incompatible ex, Cody, who refuses to accept their breakup, and … and Cody’s handsome and charming best friend, Texas cowboy Jackson Davis.
Reluctantly, Janine agrees to meet Cody for one last dinner because Cody says he has a huge business opportunity for the Inn. But when Cody takes her on a boat ride to show her his great idea, Jackson is at the helm. Janine has been trying to resist her attraction to Jackson because they have no common interests, not to mention he’s her ex’s best friend. Once they stop on a deserted island, though, Janine doesn’t expect the sparks that fly between them, the spontaneous kiss they share, or what Cody does after witnessing said kiss.
Janine was convinced she needed a sophisticated man who shared the same interests as her. Now that she’s been stranded on a deserted island with Jackson, will she discover he’s everything she never knew she really wanted?

Humorous, enjoyable, and fun. I enjoyed the drama, tension, emotion and romance. I like the chemistry between Janine and Jackson. This is very well written story that will keep you laughing.

Busy and stressed, does Janine have time for love?
This is a sweet romance with obstacles, a heroine who seeks success at her job to prove her worth to her family, and a hero torn between the life and love he desires and what he sees as his obligations of friendship and family. I enjoyed the romance and really liked the main characters (particularly loyal, upright Jackson), but got frustrated that some scenes like the party near the end drifted on to side characters irrelevant to Janine and Jackson’s story. They had enough challenges and drama of their own, enough to almost drive me to tears of sympathetic frustration and sadness. Slithers was a cute addition to their island adventure and the problems with the hotel renovations made me wonder what more could go wrong!

This story was sweet and cute and in so many ways I didn’t want it to end. Janine has been a staple in the background of many of the previous books, so I was excited to see her get one of her own. Jackson has that swoony country gentleman thing going for him and I’d already started to fall for him in Megan and Brian’s book. These two are so busy living their lives to meet other people’s expectations, I was worried they’d never figure out how to live for themselves. I really enjoyed the ending and I’m looking forward to seeing what the author has in store for us next.

All About That Kiss #6 – I first met Janine in Every Little Kiss where she wasn’t an idiot. Now, she’s a flaming idiot and I don’t care for her extreme panic attacks. The continuous self-doubt and panic was too much added to her agreeing to dinner with her ex, just plum stupid. He’s a surf bum and he’s going to tell her how to improve business at the Inn? I lost interest even though her love interest is from Texas, the reason I wanted to read this book. Also, the writing style was a bit off when Wendy appeared in the story, making her unfriendly, which she was not in ELK. Not having read the books in between ELK and AATK also took the enjoyment away from this story since I was more interested in the other characters than Janine. I found this book on Booksprout. 2.5*
Every Little Kiss #1 – This is not my first book by this author but it might be my favorite. Good storylines that blend the past with the present in the life of the two main characters. All the characters were good and fit well together. Her discovery and recovery were well done without using an stupidity formulas; the reader could actually feel her pain, it was so well written. The location was painted so well, that it became an extremely important character of its own. I found this book on Booksprout. 4*
