City girl Janine Wilson’s career is taking off but the same can’t be said about her love life. No matter—as manager of the Inn at Blue Moon Bay, Janine’s in charge of throwing a huge party to celebrate the Inn’s recent expansion and doesn’t have time for distractions. Unfortunately, two big ones suddenly show up: her thrill-seeking incompatible ex, Cody, who refuses to accept their breakup, and … and Cody’s handsome and charming best friend, Texas cowboy Jackson Davis.
Reluctantly, Janine agrees to meet Cody for one last dinner because Cody says he has a huge business opportunity for the Inn. But when Cody takes her on a boat ride to show her his great idea, Jackson is at the helm. Janine has been trying to resist her attraction to Jackson because they have no common interests, not to mention he’s her ex’s best friend. Once they stop on a deserted island, though, Janine doesn’t expect the sparks that fly between them, the spontaneous kiss they share, or what Cody does after witnessing said kiss.
Janine was convinced she needed a sophisticated man who shared the same interests as her. Now that she’s been stranded on a deserted island with Jackson, will she discover he’s everything she never knew she really wanted?

When you are stranded on an island and outdoor living ain’t your thing

I originally read and reviewed The Oopsie Island under it’s previous title, All About That Kiss. This story is the same as then and I don’t believe there are changes to the story-line. So my original review is still valid.

All About That Kiss by Susan Hatler is a funny, flirty and quirky story about Janine and Jackson. But there is also her ex Cody, who deliberately strands Janine and Jackson on a deserted island. Janine is not an outdoors girl at all, I can relate, so even if she is stranded with her crush and there is chemistry it still is not going to go well. Well that is with the great outdoors. With Jackson things go surprisingly well once she starts to see him in a whole new light.
I received a copy of this book and am leaving my honest review. My opinions are all my own.
I liked Janine and Jackson’s story. I thought their chemistry was good and I enjoyed the ex’s best friend angle. Some humor, tension, drama and tension are woven with emotions and romance to craft a fun and entertaining read.
I truly enjoyed reading this book!
It is a sweet & charming romance.
Janine, had felt she would never find
her place in life. When she moved to
Blue Moon Bay, for a job, Janine knew
this is where she belonged.
Jackson, moved here from Texas.
Being able to create anything with wood,
Jackson, purchased an old Victorian home, to fix up.
Janine’s ex-boyfriend, Cody, talked her
into dinner & boat trip. The timing is
not the best. She’s overseeing all the renovations, at the Inn.
Janine, is surprised that Jackson, joined them. She has been attracted to Jackson, since she first met him, but he is her ex’s best friend.
While on island, where they would to
have dinner, she finally gave into her feelings. Janine kissed Jackson.
She’s never felt that kind of spark before, like she did, with Jackson.
The story pulled at all my heartstrings.
A MUST READ FOR EVERYONE!!!
The Oopsie Island is the sixth title in the Blue Moon Bay series and a delightful story of one woman’s journey from not really believing in herself or her worth to discovering that she’s far more than she’s ever given herself credit for in the past… and she deserves happiness with the man she’s been reluctant to admit that she’s fallen for since he is the best friend of her ex. Now Janine and Jackson have the chance to explore those feelings (on both sides) with the knowledge that what they each thought was impossible is very probable if they let their guards down just a bit.
Everything you’d really need to know before picking up The Oopsie Island can be found in the Cover Description. What isn’t there are the emotions, the kept carefully hidden emotions that both Jackson and Janine have been dancing around for a while now. Oh, sure, Janine’s ex, Cody, does play a part in that dance but also each has a different idea of what their futures hold so going out on a limb and risking those feelings not being returned was enough to keep them silent. Except being stranded on an island by that jerk of an ex does open doors – amidst panic attacks on Janine’s part – to possibilities and to a real, enduring love that could stand the test of time should they be willing to take that risk.
I enjoyed myself in the Blue Moon Bay world. Janine and Jackson gave me a fun, romantic story with a bit of drama, a lot of familiar faces, and the belief that love wins against everything put in its path, even ourselves. I will mention that this world is known to me although I hadn’t read Jackson and Janine’s romance previously. The Kissed by the Bay series got a makeover that included new covers, new story titles, and a new series name – the stories have not changed. So, for full disclosure, I do own a copy of the previously titled “All About That Kiss”.
*I received an e-ARC of this novel from the publisher via NetGalley. The opinions expressed in this review are my own – good, bad, or indifferent. I was not financially compensated for this review and no expectation of a positive review was promised.*
Janine finds herself in love with Jackson, her ex boyfriend’s best friend and he is in love with her but trying his best not to give in. When Cody tried to kidnap Janine to propose to her and took her and Jackson to the island things went awry. This was an interesting and exciting adventurous romance that was full of humor with strong, relatable characters. Fun read

Rating:
This story was a lot of fun. The characters were incredibly built. They felt real and had flaws. They both grew throughout the story. They were the best versions of themselves with one another. The story was well written. It progressed well. The story was a different one but was amazing nevertheless.
The story follows Janine. She’s a bit of an anxiety freak. Her past has shaped her in such a way that she doubts every decision she makes. On top of that, she had to break up with her boyfriend because they had nothing in common. Now he calls her everyday because he believes they should get back together. One day, he approaches her workspace and tells her to come with him for just dinner. Being the people pleaser she is, she agrees to it. Then she learns that he had planned a weeklong excursion camping trip. Though she kisses his best friend and the ex leaves them on the island.
I wrote this voluntary review in exchange for an ARC copy.
Janine is so attracted to Jackson – just one problem – he is Cody’s best friend – her ex. I normally do not like these type of books but this one I really liked. Loved the camping scenes!!! Really romantic ending.
Janine is the manger of the Blue Moon Inn and over seeing the renovations. When her ex show back up to try to get her back, all sorts of things happen especially when his best friend and someone she has as a secret crush on shows up.
But things are not that simple and life seems to get in the way when Jackson needs to head back to Texas. Janine and Jackson have a interesting and unique journey filled with humor, drama and love.

Another wonderful story. Another visit with our friends at Blue Moon. This is my favorite of this series.
I was given an ARC for a fair and honest review.
Susan Hatler books are always a good read. This was fun and entertaining. City girl gone camping and gets stranded with her ex’s best friend. What could go wrong? Jackson and Janie are a great match up. A great read for all.

This was a quick read. Janine Wilson originally hailed from Sacramento but moved to Blue Moon Bay and fell in love with the town. Even though she didn’t go to college like her step-mother would have preferred, she is working her dream job. She is the General Manager of the Inn at Blue Moon Bay. At least until her boss Brian comes back from Italy. She is also in charge of the renovation of the two back buildings. Those are causing such a headache as nothing is going right. Her ex-boyfriend Cody cons her into a dinner date to explain an idea to help bring more business for the Inn. Janine doesn’t have time for if but if it will help business then why refuge. Unfortunately Jackson Davis joins them on the boat that takes them to a deserted island. Janine has felt the sparks around Jackson so she kisses him. Cody sees them and flees the island in the only boat. Now Janine and Jackson are stranded on the island. Oh what a mess Janine is in. How is a city girl who has never camped going to survive on the island with Jackson?
This was a very cute story but there were times when the writing confused me a little. Also it doesn’t have a dual POV. It is written in the first person format. I get that but I prefer the dual POV.
This is a sweet, clean romance. I highly recommend it for anyone to read. While it is part of a continuing series, you don’t have to start at the beginning. The author does an excellent job of filling you in on the characters.
Engaging and entertaining. I have read other books from Susan and I liked this one the best so far. This book had all the elements of an entertaining, engaging storyline with very well described and developed characters. The scenes and environments were so well depicted that I felt there myself. I was so mad with Cody for doing what he did proving how well the author engaged the reader. The feelings and attraction between Janine, general manager of the hotel and Jackson, a Texan wood-carving genius, were brought across the pages with just the right amount of heat. Janine is a woman trying to prove her worth to her family, friends and also to herself. This she does, making everyone realise what a capable and strong character she is. Jackson is the strong, silent type, yet isn’t afraid to show or express his feelings. The book was brilliantly edited and the vocabulary and style made good use of the language. The writing was of very good standard and the well-presented storyline resulted in a lovely, clean romance I would highly recommend.

This is the first book by this author that I have ever read, and it is smack dab in the mid to end of a series. It worked as a stand-alone book, but I do think I would recommend that the books be read in order as I think I would have had a greater connection to the secondary characters and the town in general if I had been with the characters from the beginning of the series. This was a sweet romance with a twist of humor. It was completely PG, no mention of anything more than “sparks” and “belly-flips” when kissing, so if you like a clean, sweet romance this might be a book for you. If you like a gritty, steamy book, this one would not fit the bill. While the heroine in this beast book experienced anxiety and, of course, a period of heartbreak where both she and the hero have to get their reality check, it wasn’t the kind of story that has the reader, or at least this reader, sobbing along with the characters. It wasn’t deep, more of a light, happy book and there is definitely a need for this type of story. I cannot go through serious emotional upheaval with every book I read, and as my last read was in that category, this book arrived just at the right time. The book doesn’t to long to read. I believe I read the majority in one night and definitely recommend giving it a try.

Janine doesn’t have time for a boyfriend, as she’s organizing a party to celebrate the Inn’s expansion. Suddenly, her ex shows up with his best friend in tow. Cody (her ex), is a thrill seeker and she knows they are not compatible. But he convinces her to go out to dinner with him to discuss a proposal he has for the Inn. Biiig mistake! First, Cody is a surfer-boy and there’s no indication he would have determined any proposal for the Inn! Second, she is not at all interested in rekindling their relationship. Then she is blindsided by going to dinner on a boat driven by Cody’s best friend Jackson. (This sounds like every horror story ever told!).
Janine and Jackson have some chemistry, and they get stranded on a deserted island after Cody catches them kissing. Jackson is a sweetheart and I was cheering for him from the beginning. However, I felt Janine was ditzy and she let Cody run over her. That alone told me she has no business proving to her family she can run the Inn! I kind of wanted someone else to jump in and save Jackson! However, this was an enjoyable read if you can put aside her stupidity and just assume there’s a reason everything happened the way it did.

Susan Hatler has done a great job again with this cute, fun and entertaining romance story. This story is Janine and Jackson, her ex’s best friend story and the chemistry between them is great. The story line has humor, drama, tension and romance. A great addition to the series.

I wish I could give more stars but the truth of it is that this reads like it was written by a high school student, a real young one. The story stays in first gear and never really takes off. I could not really connect with any of the characters and the plot was just blah. The antics of the two “lovers” while on the island was boring as can be. There was no real chemistry between the two and absolutely no steam. It was not awful but I would not recommend it and I would be upset if I had paid money to read it.
