Very good historical fiction about Hedy Lamar. You don’t want to put it down. Very interesting!
Although this is a novel, it’s historical fiction, based on a true story … mostly lost to the present-day world. Hedy Lamarr was not only a beautiful actress, but a very intelligent woman, who dealt with World War II in the best way she could.
This book is a true story. I was inspired her. She went through a lot to get to where she was. I don’t want to say anything to ruin the end so
A piece of historical fiction that I never truly knew about, during the war with Hitler and his Nazis.
Hedy Lamarr was truly famous for her beauty and acting skills.
In this novel we will see so much more of the real Hedy.
A woman with a mind that is genius at a time when women were not known for “thinking”.
Her life was not easy and yet she advocated for herself and rose up to meet the world’s challenges even when the world was in no way ready for Hedy Lamarr!
Excellent writing and description by Marie Benedict! It is a fast read that will have you captive until the end!
Learning not to judge women because of their looks. Heady LaMarr was a very strong woman.
Disappointing
Great book. Everyone in our book club really liked it. Very interesting and informative about Hedy Lamar
I loved this book, one of my favorites! So informative and loved reading about Hedy Lamar and all she accomplished through her life.
Great story about an actress who was not only beautiful but extremely intelligent.
Everything!!
Who knew that she was so driven in the area of science and what a tragedy that her genius was dismissed because she was a woman in a man’s world?
Would have liked it to continue after war years.
This book is a very interesting read. Once started, it was hard to put down. It is a good book but not what I consider a truly great book. i.e. not a Pulitzer Prize.
Most of the story is based on fact. Sit back and enjoy this interesting story about a beautiful and brilliant woman.
Amazing what a person can enduring in their life, specially knowing this is a real story. Also very sad about how she wasn’t taken seriously because she was a beautiful woman. How far we have come yet in some countries or even states we haven’t gone far at all in regards to woman being equals to men.
I loved this book! I had no idea about Hedy Lemarr but I do now! Now I’d like to watch some of her movies. She was a wonderful character and I liked very much that the author used first person narrative.
Wonderful writing about an exceptional woman.
Very interesting and informative. It’s about Rita Hayworth’s life. I found out how she was so much more than a pretty Hollywood actress. A brilliant woman and a feminist before that even existed.
I absolutely loved this book. The fact that this woman was part of a frightening part of history and made such an impact in the world is inspirational. It was well written with stunning language.
Hedy Lamarr–Hollywood bombshell–and so much more. Told in first person, her story takes us from prewar Austria and her dinners with Mussolini, to Hollywood and her inventions that gave us much of today’s technology. Each time you use your cell phone, thank Hedy!
