A powerful novel based on the incredible true story of the glamour icon and scientist whose groundbreaking invention revolutionized modern communication, The Only Woman in the Room is a masterpiece.

This story is very well-written. I enjoyed delving into the life of Ms. Lamarr. The scenes where she is developing her invention were very interesting. I’m always astounded by people’s genius as there’s no way I could ever even hope to be that smart. I also soaked up the scenes where she made her escape. Other than that, the other scenes were hard to get into, but it’s still a well-written story about an interesting person.
Hedy Lamarr was fascinating and intelligent. The first part of this book reflects those adjectives.
Another woman whose contributions during WWI are not known until decades later .
I recommend this book as a good story, but to claim it is the biography of Hedy Lamar is folly.
A fictionalized account of Hedy Lamar’s life. Very interesting and well written
Overall disappointed.
Interesting; I knew she had invented something having to do with the war effort, but didn’t know what or anything about her history. What a fascinating woman she was.
Poorly written.
Awesome
Fascinating story about the WWII
It was interesting, but very repetitive
.
Very interesting to learn about a beautiful woman with a brain and how people with power rejected her ideas because she was female
This book was a fascinating look into the life of actress Hedy LaMarr. While I had heard of her inventions, as well as her many Hollywood movies, I had not heard her background story. I did not know of her struggles growing up in pre-war Austria, nor the role her early marriage played in her life and war efforts. A fascinating book.
Hedy Lamarr story was so interesting. She was so much more than just a beautiful women. She lived in a time of terror for someone who was Jewish, to survive and try to make an impact on the world also.
Fairly interesting. Could have had more details. Not really satisfying, but I’m glad I read it for the pre WWII history.
I enjoyed the background, history in the making and her bravery. She was a very intelligent woman.
A very different side to Hedy Lamarr. Unfortunately, it was all a secret until almost the turn of the next century.
Excellent!
I was not familiar with the story of Hedy Lamarr, wow, quite the woman. So brave!
Having known about Heddy Lamar for decades. I am glad someone wrote her story even of fictionalized. She is responsible for so many inventions that we use today without thinking. She never got the credit she deserved. Totally recommend everyone read this to know how much we owe her!
