„Forget the last arrow because only the next shot counts.”
I am completely enchanted with the Arrowood Brothers series and with each book Corinne Michaels makes me fall deeper in love with another of these irresistible brothers. After Fight For Me I was pretty sure that no one can beat Declan, but oh boy, how wrong I was… Sean totally stole the show. And his and Devney’s love story? It’s magnificent. And although my heart is beaten and battered, I couldn’t be more happy about the outcome, because this heartbreakingly beautiful story is EVERYTHING.
Sean Arrowood is everything you could want in the perfect book boyfriend. He’s caring, loving, loyal and protective. He’s also understanding and willing to make sacrifices. I adored him as a friend, brother and partner. He loves hard and he’s persistent with showing it. I can’t count the times he made me swoon!
Devney is so strong and brave! My heart ached for her and at the same time I admired how selfless and caring she was. She puts other’s needs before her own, even at the cost of her happiness.
I love the fact that these two were friends first, that before they decided to take a leap they shared a great amount of highs and lows, creating an unbreakable bond. It was definitely evident that Devney and Sean need each other in their lives, and that was the main reason why it took them so long to take a step further. They had great chemistry and witnessing how they take a risk to become more was an experience like no other. Moments when life threw them a curveball and these two had to face some obstacles brought me to my knees and my heart twisted painfully in my chest. But in the end they were able to find beauty, even in pain.
Corinne Michaels is the master puppeteer when it comes to my emotions. She’s able to get all the feelings out of me in the matter of hours it takes me to read her book. The One For Me was a real rollercoaster- it made me laugh, swoon, blush and ache. There were moments when I was a sobbing mess, and there were times when my heart was bursting at the seams from all the love this book contains. This story is a gut-wrenching and wonderful friends to lovers romance that’s a must read.
This is a story full of heart. It’s got passion, love, want and need and will fill your heart with happiness.
Sean is just gorgeous, he’s finally ready to see his feelings for Devney and acts upon them. Devney is much the same and after some soul searching she’s ready. There’s a journey for these two with some big obstacles to overcome and it’s a bumpy ride. It’s a very emotional story so the criers out there will need their tissues!
I’ve loved this series so far and each book is better than the last one. Every time you finish one you think to yourself that Corinne can’t get any better but she does every time.
The One for Me is the third book in the Arrowood Brothers series by Corinne Michaels. Each book can be read as standalone but I recommend reading the series since they are all amazing in their own ways. You will fall for each brother and their loves in different ways and now it’s time for Sean and Devney to get their shit together. Everyone else sees their love, and now it time for them to do something about it.
Sean hated this town. It brought back too many bad memories but it always brought him back to her. His best friend. The only girl he has ever loved. Devney was his home even when living thousands of miles apart. He has been fighting his true feelings for her, knowing he can’t be the man she needs. A man who stayed. Now, he was in Sugarloaf and he is tired of pretending to just be best friends. He wants more and he has six months to prove to her that she is the one for him.
Devney loves Sean. Always has and always will but after a sharing kiss, she is confused. Confused because it was everything. It lit a fire in her. A fire that went out years ago. Sean has always been her rock even without living in the same state for eleven years. Her in a small town while he traveled the country playing the game he loved. He wants to explore more than friendship and she is scared. She can’t lose him, and she will not leave Sugarloaf. Is six months enough time to figure out a lifetime?
Secrets. Everyone else them, right? Will their’s change they way they feel?
Aw!!! I have fallen for now three Arrowood brothers. Sean is my favorite. Yeah, I said it. He is hilarious, he doesn’t play fair, and oh, so swoon-worthy. And Devney is quite a woman. She is stronger than she believes, loyal, and beautiful inside and out. Togethe, they are so much fun, sweet, and sexy. I can’t wait for Jacob’s book! Oh man, he better be ready to fall.
Overall…I laughed. I cried. I swooned. I got hot and bothered. I cried some more. It was one emotional ride.
Quotes:
I smile, liking this side of my grumpy ass brother a lot more. “Who knew you had a poet’s soul?”
He humphs. “I wouldn’t go that far.”
“I didn’t say it was good poetry.”
Zach looks at Sean and then me. “Are you guys . . . together?”
“No.”
“Soon,” Sean says at the same time.
Zach chuckles. “Well, that clears it up.”
“I will never see anything in this world more beautiful than you.”
Corinne Michaels has been a favorite author of mine for a while now, and The One for Me is exactly one of the main reasons. This book- and Sean- has everything I look for in a book: strong, sexy hero, sassy woman, friends-to-lovers who aren’t sure if changing their friend status is worth it, and a little twist that makes it all worth it! Add in a fantastic plot and writing, and I couldn’t put it down!
Sean and Devney have been friends since they were young. Devney got Sean through a difficult childhood and supported him while he worked to make it in the MLB. Devney moved back home after college, and is not anxious to leave, but struggles with finding her place. When Sean comes home for his six months on the family farm, he and Devney begin to see each other in a new light, but while Sean would like to pursue a relationship, Devney struggles with how it could work with him living in Florida and traveling for games, while she does not- and will not- leave.
These two had so much chemistry! Sean was such a little charmer, and I loved how persistent he was with convincing Devney that they could be more. I absolutely understood Devney’s need to stay in their little town, and the difficulties that a relationship with Sean would entail, but their pull toward each other was just so strong, it was inevitable.
I absolutely loved The One for Me! I have loved all the books in this series, but there is no doubt that this one is the best one (yet, at least; let’s see what Jacob’s story brings!)! Sean was just… wow! And I loved Devney!! I highly recommend The Arrowood Brothers’ series, and definitely recommend The One for Me!
I am so in love with this third book in The Arrowood Brothers series! This is Sean and Devney’s bittersweet but beautiful, friends to lovers romance. I was so overwhelmed with the emotions that I experienced while reading this amazing book. It had me laughing, crying and swooning from beginning to end! Sean and Devney have been best friends since they were kids. Devney was there to cheer on Sean at all his baseball games and to comfort him when tragedy strikes his family. Their relationship changed a bit when they went in different directions for college but they never lost touch. Devney came home a different person and Sean was never sure what happened. Now he is home and he is ready to act on the love, beyond friendship, that he has always felt for her. Devney is holding back, no matter how much she wants to try with him. She has secrets that she isn’t sure Sean will understand, and is afraid to lose him when he learns the truth. I loved the complexity and richness of Sean and Devney’s relationship. They were friends first and that solid foundation made their interactions less angsty and more stirring and tender. Sean is so swoon-worthy as he shows Devney he has enough faith in them for the both of them, and prove to her that they were always meant to be. I am a sucker for a great grand gesture and epilogue and if I thought I loved Sean before, this sealed it completely! It was so much fun catching up with their family that we grew to care for from the first books. I loved seeing them growing closer together and laughing at their brotherly banter. There was also some hints about Jacob’s story and I can’t wait for that one next! This series is getting better with each brother! I love this fun, emotional, and sexy romance and I can’t wait for more from these Arrowood Brothers!
WOW!! I mean seriously, just wow! This series! These Arrowood brothers! Just when I think I can’t possibly love one more than the other, we get Sean!
Gahhh! I love Sean and this story so much!! This man is absolutely perfect! I simply adore him! He is a pro baseball player but without the arrogance and cockiness that may come along with that. He is genuine, charming, sweet, protective, sexy and drops the swoon like its his job! But I also love how thoughtful, giving, honest and caring he is! He goes after what he wants and he goes full throttle after Devney, who has always just been his best friend up until now, but it’s time for all of that to change. She is perfect for him and he wants her to be his! And let me tell you, the things he says to her melted me into a puddle of goo. Swoon.
Devney is absolutely amazing! She is such a strong person and has been through a lot. She is sweet, genuine, thoughtful and caring as well. She has always loved Sean but she is afraid to venture out of friends territory because she does not ever want to lose him, and he is only back in Sugarloaf temporarily. She also has secrets she has been hiding and is afraid of what will happen if she tells him. I adored the moment she finally realizes that she wants more with Sean.
There are so many awesome scenes in this book which obviously I can’t talk about, and I love when authors bring characters from another one of their series into a story! I won’t spoil who though. It just makes me so happy!! And these scenes are wonderful!
But when tragedy strikes it threatens what they have been building and working towards and you honestly wonder if they can possibly navigate through it all together or if at all.
It’s so hard to put into adequate words how much I loved this story. But I’m trying. It’s so beautiful, sweet, sexy and emotional all wrapped into one. It’s also unpredictable! And of course It wouldn’t be a Corinne Michaels book if she didn’t make me sob at some point, and sob I did. Broke my heart she did, but then she put it back together in spectacular fashion as she always does!
I’ve got so much love for Sean and for this book!! I honestly can’t wait to see what Corinne does with Jacob’s story!
So this was a friends to lovers romance that started off lighthearted and fun and then we get the ti the second half of the book and it becomes heartbreaking and emotional and there are moments when you want to shake both Devney (mostly) and Sean (not really because he is amazing).
This is the third book in the Arrowood Brothers series. We have gotten to know Sean, the professional baseball player and his best friend Devney.
This book was so good even though there was a moment that drastically changed the whole tone of the book, it was real and raw and worth every agonizing moment.
Sean and Devney are both incredible characters but that’s not surprising because all the characters in this series have been incredible. I absolutely cannot wait for Jacob’s story.
**I was generously provided with an advanced readers copy of this book in exchange for my fair and honest review**
5 Stars!! This book has given me such a huge book hangover! Sean and Devney have been best friends forever but after one kiss now they are questioning what they really mean to each other especially since Sean will now be living in town. This is so much more than a friends to lovers book. Sean is super swoony and sweet and I loved Devney. Of course there has to be Corinne’s signature emotional twists where there is heartbreak but that makes the HEA so much better. I continue to love the interaction with all of the Arrowood brothers, which is so entertaining (and now looking forward to Jacob’s book). The other part I loved was that we get to see several other of Corinne’s characters make appearances in the book, in addition to several other characters she borrowed from her author friends. You definitely do not want to miss this book!
The One for Me is book 3 in The Arrowood Brothers series by Corinne Michaels. This is an amazing friends to lovers romance. Sean and Devney’s story will grip your heart, make you cry, make you laugh and by the end you are crying happy tears. I loved this book so much. What an emotional beautiful story. I can’t give the book enough stars. It deserves so much more than 5. I highly recommend this book, you don’t want to miss out on reading this one!!!
I so loved Sean and Devney’s story!! I’ve read every book that Corinne has written, and there’s just something extra special about this one. I think I loved it so much because the relationship between Sean and Devney has been in place for twenty years. They’ve been best friends since they were six years old and have always been there for each other through thick and thin. Even after Sean leaves Sugarloaf and becomes a huge baseball star. And now he’s back in town, having to stay the six months his father demanded of each of the sons in his will.
I tend to have a love/hate relationship with friend’s to lovers romances because as the reader we see the obvious signs way before the characters do that they’re in love and I can’t wait for them to finally realize it and give in! I want to shake them and make them see it. Well, it didn’t happen quite that way in this story and the angst between Sean and Devney was such sweet torture!! I was more than willing to go along for the ride on this one instead of wanting to push the two characters together right away.
As usual, Elphaba, I mean Corinne, gives us a highly emotional story that was cracking my heart open all over the place. And she put the one thing in that is sure to make me a blubbering mess. I just turn into a puddle whenever there are kids in a story. Man, they burrow into my heart and I want to keep them there forever!! Devney’s nephew Austin was just the bestest, sweetest little boy, ever!
This story kind of “took a village” before it was all over, and I absolutely loved getting to see all of the brothers and their better halves rally around Devney and Sean and provide them with unwavering support and guidance. And it was super fun to see a ton of cameos from so many well loved characters. And even though Jacob hasn’t fallen for his lady yet, I feel pretty sure his story is going to be just as emotional, if not more than, Sean and Devney’s. I am so looking forward to that!
Strap in tight for another emotion filled stay in Sugarloaf!
Sean Arrowood, Brother #3, was definitely The One for Me!
A small town, friends to lovers’ romance that made me swoon time and time again for Devney and Sean despite all the impossibilities they seemed to face. I just about lost it three-fourths through the novel but I knew Corinne would mend things somehow.
This series is really outstanding. While this could be read as a standalone, I’d recommend starting from the beginning since the characters carry over into the next books. Speaking of characters, there was a surprise appearance from one of the Hennington brothers.
If you like romance with of course angst, you have to dive into this series. Can’t wait for Jacob’s story!
How do I even begin to put into words how this book made me feel, the emotions it pulled from me page after page… it’s difficult because this book NEEDS to be read, it NEEDS to be experienced… Sean NEEDS to be experienced!
Sean and Devney’s story had me smiling, laughing, crying and absolutely swooning from beginning to end that I wanted more…..so much more, I didn’t want to let them go and definitely didn’t want their story to end! Sean knew what he wanted and was prepared to do whatever it took to get her…..Devney Maxwell, his bestfriend. Devney had bigger plans than the small town of Sugarloaf but her past was keeping her from moving on and taking what she truly wanted…..Sean Arrowood. These two would discover that to get what you want you may have to let it go and see if love truly conquers all!
Corinne has given us amazing characters with these Arrowood brothers and each one gets better and better making it hard to choose your favorite. This story doesn’t make it impossible to choose, you’ll agree that Sean Arrowood is THE ONE FOR ME! Corinne has truly given us an absolutely, breathtakingly beautiful story that is hands down a MUST read and on my Top Reads for 2020!
