The One is a story about friendship, trials, loss, strength, and love. This is a story about finding The One and holding tight, no matter what happens.
Nicole…at first, I wasn’t sure if I would like her. Until I saw how she was with her best friend, Brooke. She scored big points with me for everything she did for her. When it came to her relationship with Avery, I admit it felt more like I was being told about her feelings for him rather than feeling it. Maybe it was due to the fact that she was bombarded by difficult and surprising circumstances. However, I did sympathize with her when she had joy dangled in front of her then had it snatched away. I wanted to give her the biggest of hugs.
Avery…now that’s a man that loved his woman. I felt it. Honestly, his POV saved this book for me. Everything he felt, I felt. His elation, his desperation, his determination, his devastation, his pain, his joy, I felt it all. I loved Avery. This is the kind of devotion that I believe everyone deserves in their lives.
Bored. Put this down several times. Very repetitive. First part of book included word for word scenes from book one.
I don’t really know what to say about this book except that I liked it.
Avery and Nicole’s story is a true love story. Its also a tear jerker for sure. I enjoyed the story even tho I needed tissues.
Avery is an absolute sweet heart. I loved him from the very start in book 1.
Although book 2 is a retell of some stuff we have already read, it was good reading it in a different couples point of you. You really feel for Avery and Nicole.
I loved the introduction of these characters from Tattooed Dots and their hopeless romantic ideation. This book was an emotional roller coaster after their tragedy and had reactions that were so easy to relate to. The strength of their relationship is definitely put to the test and will keep you turning pages and grip you.
This is the second book in this series and runs concurrently with Tattooed Dots and is Nicole and Avery’s story. Its not just their best friends Easton and Brooke that fall in insta-love they do too. The connection between them is instant and red hot.
Once they are back from meeting on their singles cruise they want to carry on their relationship despite living in separate cities. After Nicole finds out she is pregnant they decide she should move to New York so they can have their family together.
In true book fashion nothing ever runs smoothly and tragedy strikes is their love strong enough to ge them through?
This was another couple that made me swoon hard. Avery knows what he wants and has been looking for ‘the one’ so soon as he meets Nicole he is smitten.
If you haven’t read Tattooed hearts then I suggest you do as if you loved this one you will want to anyway.
I really enjoyed The One. Not as much as I loved the first book on the series, but it was still really good. The One is Avery and Nicole’s story. We met them in the first book, Tattooed Dots. They are Easton and Brooke’s best friends who also meet on the same cruise. We really already know what happens with them from reading the first book. Although this one tells us a little more at the end. When they met on the cruise ship it was a little too insta love for me. I liked that Avery was actually looking for “the one” and he wasn’t a Manwhore. But I think they fell in love way too quickly. Maybe I’m wrong, but it’s how I feel. Other than that the book was great. I’m ready forward to the next book in the Halo series.
The saying when you know, you know comes to mind with this couple. They meet on a singles cruise. both desperate to find “the one” When they meet on the first day they become inseparable. When Brooke gets diagnosed they become even stronger. They grow closer and closer. But when tragedy strikes them, Nicole runs and gets scared. In the end, she figures out her life is with Avery, she goes back. Its an endearing story.
4 It’s Not Always Sunshine and Rainbows Stars!!
This is the second book in this series and I was so excited that we were getting into the meat and bones of Avery and Nicole’s story. We met this couple in Tattooed Dots and just like Easton and Brooke, these two met on the same cruise seeing as they’re the besties of them. I know neither Avery or Nicole was looking for anything more than a “good time” when they rangled their besties to the cruise, but sometimes fate has other ideas.
What I especially loved about this book is that we’re basically in the same time-frame as Easton and Brooke’s story but this is all from Avery and Nicole’s POV while also getting their story. Avery is a man that wants it all….love, marriage, children and Nicole, not so much…she’s been burned a few times and doesn’t think love is in the cards for her.
Well, Avery is the man that will change everything about what she thought about love. And I LOVED him for it. It’s refreshing to see a Hero that’s all about wanting the proverbial white picket fence. But it’s not an easy journey for these two and I found myself tearing up a little bit. Seeing Nicole’s reaction to what’s going on in her bestie Brooke’s life as well as her own surprises had me experiencing a few emotions.
Leave it to Ms. Knight to write a fabulous follow-up to the first book in this series and the ending!!! I mean talk about leaving a girl hanging!!! Luckily I had both books so I quickly started Never Stop immediately!
I loved getting to know more about Avery and Nicole!! We met them in Tattooed Dots so it was nice to get to know them better. This book has a lot of emotions jam-packed in it but it is done so well that you can’t help but just get lost in them. The One is an emotional ride but one absolutely totally worth taking!
Oh my heart!!! Book two in the Halo series by Kimberly Knight really did a number on my heart. The One follows the first in the series surrounding a singles cruise but instead of Brooke and Easton you get the inside scoop on Nicole and Avery. And it is so amazingly sweet and sappy as Avery himself. Both want to find the one they can grow old with, to bei the love of each others lives and they start out so incredibly strong. After the cruise they decide to not do a long distance thing and it didn’t work for Nicole, she needed to be with Avery and she did! She went to him and it was wonderful, until it wasn’t. Bad news happened and reactions to this news caused so many thing to go wrong!!
I just loved Avery and his belief in forever love!! I also loved the love between friends in this story. Friendship is so strong and loyal here that you can feel the love flowing off the pages. Overall this story was a definite 5 stars for me.
This is such a lovely sweet romance. It had my heart breaking in places but in such a good way. It was an emotional but fantastic storyline with plenty of turns to keep me wanting more. A heartbreakingly amazing story.
I received a complimenty copy of this book through Crazy Cajun Book Addicts for an honest review.
This is the 2nd book in the Halo Series and I loved every minute of it. This book centres on Nicole and Avery’s story. We did get a little look at their relationship in book 1 Tattooed Dots but in this one we see how their relationship really developed. After meeting each other on a singles cruise with their best friends, Nicole and Avery quickly fall into a relationship once they are back home but with Nicole living in Boston and Avery in New York things aren’t that easy. When Nicole discovers she’s pregnant she decides to move to New York and live with Avery and finally they both have everything they have ever wanted until tragedy strikes. Is the relationship and love they have for each other enough to keep them together or will the strain of everything pull them apart. This book is a must read for all Kimberly Knight fans.
The One is a wonderful addition to the Halo series. We get to witness how Avery and Nicole’s relationship flourishes and it’s simply magical. These two are meant to be since they lay eyes on each other as soon as the single cruise sails. Their love is fierce and pure, and their story is filled with emotion.
Although we know of most of the big events in their relationship from [book:Tattooed Dots|27407334], it was refreshing to get to know them as main characters. Avery has a huge heart, believes in fate and in finding “the one.” And no matter what life throws at him, he knows Nicole is it for him. Nicole was a surprise. In the first book, she seems so carefree. But in The One, we see her insecurities and her vulnerable side. And that make me like her even more.
Can’t wait to see how this series evolves!
As teenagers, many girls hope that their best friends would fall in love with their boyfriend’s best friends. That way they can all live happily ever after together forever. The Halo series makes a teen girl dreams come true.
Brooke and Nicole were besties on adventure of a life time–a spring break singles cruise to Mexico. Was really Nicole’s hope to meet “the one” while taking Brooke on a cruise for her birthday and away from her loser boyfriend.
Avery and Easton boarded the singles cruise, the first vacation in five years, the first action since Easton became a single father of the cutest little girl. Easton was just looking for a hook up while Avery was looking for “the one”.
It doesn’t take long for the stars to align. It doesn’t take anytime at all before they are standing together. The connection is there. The connection continues on the cruise and when they return to their lives. Nicole and Avery found the one, but can they make it? Will a long distance relationship work? Will tragedy tear them apart or bring them closer? Pick up The One and find hope, romance.
I have to say that this book really did a number on my heart and brain! I went from laughing to crying to screaming at my kindle like a crazy woman. I mean some people they just don’t get it. When love is there it will stay there as long as you accept it. If you push someone away then don’t expect for them to want to stay.
Avery oh Avery is the love of my life. He is such a sweetheart because he believes in love and not just love but true love. He is looking for it but he keeps meeting these terrible women who are either taken or are just plain out crazy! It is then that he decides to go on a singles cruise and that cruise is going to change his life forever.
On the cruise Avery meets his one true love Nicole. They spend the whole time together not wanting to be separate from each other because they know at the end of the cruise they are going to be going back to their lives that they have and they don’t want that. At the end of the cruise and they go on their own ways they decide to try a long distance relationship. Nicole is tired of being away from her one true love and decides to move to New York where Avery is and spend the rest of her life with him.
Things are going great till one day they get some bad news and Nicole acts like a total biatch towards Avery and he is left wondering what he has done. He loves Nicole and wants to be with her but she pushes him away and then expects him to come running back one she has her hair across her arse out.
This one was really emotional for me for so many reasons but this is a must must read series for everyone who loves romances and second chance romances.
The One is book 2 in The Halo series by Kimberly Knight. I loved this book and I love Avery and Nicole. They have something amazing and their story will make you laugh and make you cry. I highly recommend this book and this series!!!
This book will take you on an emotional ride, but you will love it! After a whirlwind romance starting from the first night on the cruise, Avery and Nicole are practically inseparable. As fate would have it they are sent a surprise and they are thrilled, then tragedy hits and tests their connection. This story is one of loss, love and determination.
After reading Tattooed Dots how can you not want to read about Nicole & Avery? Their story is one that hits close to home. After a whirlwind romance starting from the first night on the cruise, Nicole and Avery have been with each other every chance possible. Fate has sent them a little surprise and they couldn’t be more thrilled! Scared but thrilled. Both are there to support Brooke during her illness and help Easton all while making plans for their future. Tragedy strikes when it’s least expected and it takes its toll. Emotional, gut wrenching story of love, loss and perseverance
The One follows the same timeline as Tattooed Dots and can be read at any place in the order.
Nicole tricks her best friend Brooke to go on a singles cruise with her after Nicole realizes she’s done with the bar scene and would like to find THE ONE.
Avery is done flirting with girls who only want one thing from him, he’s ready to settle down and be a father. He fins out about a singles cruise and practically forces his best friend Easton to come along. Avery has one goal for the cruise, find THE ONE.
Nicole and Avery meet each other, when their best friends introduce themselves. That doesn’t matter though, they would have found each other no matter what. But what happens when the cruise ends? It’s over a four hour drive between them, can they do it?
Nicole and Avery are completely in love, nothing will stop them. But life has a cruel way of getting in the way. First Brooke, then Nicole has troubles. If they thought living apart was hard, now there’s something bigger than that between them.
Did they really find their THE ONE, or did fate play a trick on them?
This story was enjoyable, but I didn’t find as if it were glued to my hands until I finished.
I loved the way Kimberly tied in the beginning of this book with its predecessor, Tattooed Dots, and then took it on its own incredible journey. Avery and Nicole are both VERY stubborn, but I think that’s what makes their story so remarkable as they deal with the hand Life deals them. I’m not ashamed to say I cried a few tears along the way—it was that powerful!
