Nice to see older people credited with romantic and even sensual feelings.
I really wanted to enjoy this. I may go back and read it, but the narration of the audiobook made the listen untenable. Finished it, but barely and because I can’t not finish a book. It’s a sweet sorry, but try reading rather than listening.
I really enjoyed this book.
I love Judy Leigh’s writing and characters. This is another later-in-life romance/inspiration. An easy read that will lave you smiling.
This was a congenial, enjoyable book about old people. Being one myself, it was refreshing to read about older characters were not decrepit and senile. They were very enjoyable characters, and the story line did a good job of covering their transition as they got to know each other in the villagers better.
Being a woman of a certain age, and widowed, I love the concept that a writer would find us interesting and would write an upbeat, fun entertaining book about the possibilities, friendships, and adventures still available to us. Thanks to the author.
I thoroughly enjoyed it from beginning to end! I could really identify with some of the characters and loved the story line!
Well written, endearing, odd, quirky but likable characters,. The mostly predictable plot with a few unexpected twists and turns. The story evolves around and between a group of mostly older women who believe that life has left them high and dry with no hope for the future. Enter newcomers who bring new life, spirit and love, yes, love. Hopeful and funny cozy read.
Very nice to read. Great to have older characters(I’m 72) who still love life and have change/surprises waiting for them.
This was a simple book but the characters were very endearing. Great for relaxing.
I found some of the characters to be a little bizzare
This book I would give a 3. Not as interesting as other books I have read this summer. Couldn’t wait to get through it as it dragged a bit.
This book is about older women in their sixties and nineties. So refreshing to read about romance in older people.
elicited lots of laughs from me throughout the book. Glad that this action-
packed book ended with the main characters finding love and joy once
again.
Loved it. Likable characters. Just enough twist to keep you guessing a bit.
Book explores aspects of two sisters (one a widow and the other never married), living together for a few months in a small town in England. They’re opposite each other in every way which provides many funny scenes. I thought the last two chapters were a bit impossible but otherwise the book is a serious look at the lives of 70 year old women
I loved this book, Being a senior myself.made it especially enjoyable. Don’t miss it!
I didn’t like this book at all! It was pretty boring!
The book was a fun read, but totally unrealistic!
There was a convenient solution to every
problem…the whole story was wrapped up in a
bow at the end.
Good book. People can change even at an advanced age
