But the case that tugs at her heart, and lands her in danger, is a missing eleven-year-old boy, who may have been snatched by witchdoctors.

Loved the boook, you could see the country and the people through her eyes. She was so sweet but knew how to solve any kind of problem
Love the old-fashioned-ness of the manners considered polite in this book, such as Madame calling everybody by their formal names, including her husband. Required reading for my 9th grade granddaughter in Corvallis, Ore, so glad I had a copy because these books are expensive!
This whole series takes the reader to a place and a pace that is rewarding.
I like liked the characters. Strong women in a hard environment.
I love these and so enjoy ready them, wish there were more of them!
I gained information about Botswana, its topography, its people, and daily life for some “regular folks” like me. I love this series!
Have read many of Alexander McCall’s book in this series, and greatly enjoyed the characters, the setting, and the morals taught
One word-magical!
Delightful. A story told around a cozy table.
Great Fun!
Great reading
A very fun book to read. Makes me want to visit Botswana.
Nice read for our book club, we all appreciated the original characters and location descriptions, and that she loved her homeland (nice change from writers who are endlessly dissatisfied with their hometowns).
This writer takes you to the heart of Africa, or at least, to the heart of an African lady detective. Great fun to read.
I love mysteries and these books add a fresh new element to the enjoyment: Botswana! The gentle, rolling descriptions of the culture and environment make the reader feel as if he’s traveled to Botswana, spoken the language, eaten the food and solved a mystery.
This series is a must for those who like mysteries
I’ve read all of these as they were publish and loved them.
Having spent 2 years in Botswana with Peace Corps, this was truly a trip down memory lane for me. The whole series is a very gentle Nero Wolfe-like odyssey.
Recommended for a light read.
One of the best series of stories I’ve ever read. I enjoyed the DVDs as well.
