Murdering humans is a huge no-no and comes with an off-with-your-head sentence. Doesn’t matter if you don’t remember doing the crime.
I killed a human, and no, it wasn’t on purpose, but that shit doesn’t matter to the council. I’m facing death. So, when I’m offered a deal to avoid execution, I’d be a fool not to take it, even if it means leaving the human world behind to enrol in the … take it, even if it means leaving the human world behind to enrol in the Nightwatch Academy – a gothic monstrosity hidden from human eyes, located way too close to the largest tear in the fabric of our reality.
I have no intention of becoming a member of the Watch or supporting the shadow knights at keeping the Fomorian threat at bay. The monsters beyond the mist aren’t my problem.
But one sip from the ceremonial goblet and my plans to coast are out of the window as my powers spark to life.
I’m an anomaly, one the Watch won’t be letting walk any time soon.
My only comfort is a man who prides himself on his ability to harness pain. Battle scarred and formidable, he’s my tutor, my mentor, and the object of some super saucy dreams. He’s completely off limits and my only hope of surviving my first test.
I’ll need to harness my powers fast.
There can be no distractions.
But when my fellow cadets start going missing then returning with no memory of who they used to be and my best friend is taken, turning a blind eye is no longer an option.

OMG what can I say, You may think that this is just another Academy book but let me tell you its not by any means a standard Academy book for a start I would say that this is for age 18+ – This is an Academy book Debbie Cassidy style which means a kick ass hard core heroine and starts will full on action. Her first love interest isn’t some gorgeous hunky male model, he’s not a bully or a nerd. He is a battle worn scared war vet who isn’t much older than her with a metal leg.
He doesn’t want a relationship and fights the chemistry whilst trying to do best by her so that she’s prepared and can survive as a member of the Watch – a previously men only unit who defend their world.
The storey line is soooo good, there are twists and turns galore with plenty of Debbie’s dark humour, its faced paced in places with plenty of excitement and sexual tension in an wonderful new world – I cant wait for the next instalment as its one of the best Academy books I have read in a while. Once you have finished you are literally going to be straight on to Amazon to pre-order book 2 – its that good!!!!! The best book so far from Debbie Cassidy in 2019 – i would give it 6 stars if i could
Shadow Weaver
Just when you think Debbie Cassidy couldn’t get any better and that book one of this series was sooooo good that book 2 wouldn’t even come close yo realise that this woman is bloody brilliant because book 2 is 100% as good.
Again another passionately written faced paced book full of action, suspence, love, tears and laughter. Some questions are answered and other mysteries are presented and yes there is another doozy of a cliff hanger.
In this book the recruits become Shadow Knights and spend more time away from the Academy with on the job training and along the way Indigo get close to Brady which surprises every one in their close knit community, Hyde is being as idiot still pushing Indigo away and Indigo just has to battle her confused emotions whilst trying cement her place as the only woman in the Shadow Knight community.
Team Brady or Archer? – Is Hyde really an Ass or is he in his own way protecting Indigo – I love Brady but have a real soft spot for Hyde and i think he will come good in the end, The next question is who else will be brought into her Harem?
Shadow Warrior
Wowsers this series just gets better and better – Just Fantastic!!!! Absolutely Amazeballs!!!!
This book starts straight after the end of the book as the tension grows as the trials approach. This book will take you on a roller coaster of emotions as you fall down the rabbit hole that this storey takes you to. You will laugh, possibly cry, get angry and even a little fraustrated but most of all you will be left at the end with shock and be desperate for the next book. Ok i like Brady and Kash is growing on me but my heart is still with Hyde as i get the issues he is having and love the fact that he is willing to risk his life to be with Indigo.
Oh and if there were a cliffhanger of the Year award to be had , Debbie would win it easily with the ending on this book so you have been warned!!!! But you will love it – Honestly!!!
Shadow Master
Wow, just Wow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What an amazing ending to another wonderful series by Debbie Cassidy. Each time you finish one of her sets of books you think that she won’t be able to better it and then wham!!! you are hit with another fabulous addiction – she is like a good box of chocolates as you just can’t ever get enough.
This series had such complex characters including a scarred war veteran, a mutated human, a troll half breed- add to the mix vampires, Shifters and Casters plus a war and the right to survive and you have one amazing set of books.
In this final book we start straight after the 3rd book ends where the keep has been blown to smithereens and everyone within killed. Indigo is suddenly elevated to shadow Master and is charged with protecting her people but with few resources as most of the experienced warriors were killed in the explosion as she shows a good amount of maturity making good sound decisions whilst trying to find Brady, sort out her relationship with Hyde and find a way to bring together her other men.
There is plenty of heartbreak, tears and shocks in this book along with twists and turns that you never see coming. The Action is full on from start to finish and the heat about right as this series is all about the storey.
The ending is perfect but leaves questions as well so there may be a follow-up novella at some point. I really can’t say any more other than this is one of the best series that i read in 2019 so i am sure that you will enjoy it as much as i did.
The Nightwatch Academy is the story of Indigo Justice and her men. Join Indigo on her journey of discovering who and what she is and the men, friends who help her along the way.
Shadow Castor:
I am not silent about how much of a fan I am of Debbie Cassidy. She is one of my unicorn authors. I have loved every single story. And just when I think she cannot come up with something better, she does. Just when I think I have found my favorite main character, she comes out with her next series, and bam. They are my favorite. It takes a lot of talent to make these stories that grip you, like what Debbie does. She always puts the meat of the story before romance, now don’t get me wrong we have plenty of that, and that is a welcome change of pace. She provides us with what we are looking for when we read, a gateway into another world.
In Shadow Caster, book one of the Nightwatch Academy, we have our main female lead Indigo. She has had a pretty lonely existence with a cold father, and a mother who does whatever he says. Her father is a powerful man, or should I say vampire. She has always had to behave a certain way, even with her rebellious streak. When an incident leads her having to attend the Nightwatch Academy, vowing that as soon as she set foot in these halls she would try to find a way out. But something unexpected happens. Turns out she is not just an ordinary vamp, and here at the Academy she just had a whole new world open up to her. It is up to her if she is brave enough to take it.
Like I said, absolutely engaging, a non stop read until I finished. Indigo is such a bad a@@ character, that you cannot help but root for her. She has had a lonely hard life, and getting to see her make friends and something more with some of the guys, was a big draw. I just could not stop reading to find out who she would gravitate toward. She has a good new bestie by her side, which their relationship rocks. Minnie and Indigo together is what all best friends should be like. Indigo is very protective of her friend, and you can feel their bond. The guys, wow, where to start. I know who I want her with, which I have my hopes on a few, and we will just have to see who ends up with her. I really liked all of the guys. The fun ones and the intense ones.
Overall, this is a great first book in a new series from Debbie Cassidy that will no doubt become your new favorite of hers, just like me.
Shadow Weaver:
Book two in The Nightwatch Academy series picks up where Shadow Caster leaves off. A lot happens in this book. I had to do two read throughs to catch everything that happened. If you thought book one was awesome, wait til you read Shadow Weaver.
In Shadow Weaver a lot happens to Indigo. Not only is the Shadow Cadets having to fast forward their training, and fight more. She is having to fight her attraction to Hyde. Who has made it very clear that he cannot have any type of relationship with her. And add in that she has to figure out her Shadow Weaving powers. Plus get to know her father more. A lot is happening but Indie is up for the challenge.
I really enjoyed this second installment. A lot more happens, with the plot and the characters. Indie proves how really bad ass she is. There is so much happening to her, and she just deals with everything as it comes. She is a strong female lead, and I cannot wait to see where Debbie takes her. Hyde, ugh, I really liked him in book one, book two not so much. I know that there is more to him and his story and what will happen. But not this book for me. When you read SW, you will see what I am talking about. Brady, is my new favorite. Wow, he totally stole my heart in this one, and I am pretty sure Indies too. The ending Indie proves just how freaking awesome she is.
Shadow Warrior:
I absolutely love this series!! Who am I kidding?? I love this author! Literally everything she writes is like gold to me. The characters, the pace, the plot, the love interests, everything connects to make one hell of a read/series.
If you have read the first two books you know that Indigo is the first female cadet for Shadow Knights. It seems like she is constantly fighting, and right fully so. A lot happens, with danger all around and at every turn is feels like. There are a lot people out there that are not what they seem, and apparently she needs to learn more about herself as well. Enemies become friends, friends become enemies, who can you trust. Things get so complicated with everything, I was on pins and needles with so much!! The characters, I am all so invested in. Brady is still my favorite. I wont lie, there is some things that just hurt in this read, but I trust Debbie and know that all will work out wonderfully in the end.
Overall, Shadow Warrior is another great installment in the Nightwatch Academy, one that will leave you needing book four for all of the answers that this one brings.
Shadow Master:
Shadow Master is the final book in the Nightwatch Academy. I was very much looking forward to this book, not because it was the last one in this series, but because of the cliffhanger of the last book. I had to know what happened next. And oh boy what an ending. As always Debbie had me on the edge of my seat with her writing style, the pace of the story and her ability to make her words seem like watching a movie play out.
A lot of things happen here, the past is exposed and Debbie does an excellent job of combining the past and the present. Yes there are some twists and turns, lots of action, things that I saw coming and some I did not. Indigo is such a strong character that has been through so much, and man she is sure put through so much more here. I rooted for her so hard here. She is seriously one of my favorite female leads.
So get ready for a hell of a ride on this final installment for the Nightwatch Academy. I loved it!!!
