a truly magical novel. breath-taking
I don’t much care for ‘fantasy’… yet this book was delightful!
Loved this book! Such a joy to read.
Absolutely loved this book.
This is one of the most fun books l ever read. I read this the week it was released. I HIGHLY recommend.
Very imaginative, almost lyrical.
“The circus arrives without warning.” This is the signpost pointing to wonderment and delight – the MOST delightful book I have read in ages. I was barely through 1/3 of the story when I had already decided I would need to reread it in its entirety because I never wanted this story to end.
This is a wondrous tale, in the truest meaning of the word, and is filled with lovely and secretive and brilliant and strong and insightful and devious characters who spin like dancers approaching near and then turning off to dance with another, whirling and changing through the steps to music we can only hope in our secret hearts to be able to hear.
The words – what wonderfully descriptive words the author uses, and present tense verbs that bring us right into the soul of the story, experiencing the design, enchantment, and affections that grow throughout.
I had this book on my wish list after seeing other recommendations and it came up on a special – for fantasy lovers and all those who enjoy being captured by a story!
It’s been years since I read this book but I remember being fascinated by the characters and the atmosphere. Wonderful change of pace for someone like me who reads a lot of thrillers.
I loved this book. Truly captivating!
weird
This is one of my favorite books of all time!
Rich fantasy, well developed characters, exceptionally well written.
I could see this as a mini series. A bit long, but I feel it had to be that way to draw it to a good conclusion.
Simply magical. Beautifully written in language that creates visual art.
A very entertaining and engaging magical story.
Loved the characters and the story. Beautifully written.
This was definitely not a book for me, (and I suspect probably very few men would like it.) I found the always evolving circus & Celia’s magical abilities to be way more interesting than the Victorian love story with Marco. This is why I would label it as a book mainly for girls.
Night Circus is dazzling in the beauty in conjures for it’s readers. The attention to detail is almost to much to take in and put together, almost. From the over bearing “father” figures in the main character’s lives, to their coming of age moments, Night Circus is riveting. Erin Morgenstern does an excellent job of putting us right inside the circus. The only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is although the story comes full circle and ends feelings complete, there was a lot of “empty writing” to me. There were chapters I feel I could have skipped and still not missed anything of value or interest to the story. That was incredibly frustrating as the story itself was so full of passion and then to just lapse into chapters that were lacking that. That being said though I thoroughly enjoyed “Night Circus” and look forward to more books by Erin Morgenstern.
Honestly, my favorite book I’ve read so far. Completely magical, surprising, well-written, overall stunning.
One of the most underrated book and Author in the literature world.
