“They were leaving. She was leaving Earth…”Jet figures out fast that her new role as the prince’s consort presents even more dangers than just being a straight-up slave and Rings champion. For one thing, a lot more people want to kill her. Worse, Ringmaster Trazen remains as obsessed with Jet as ever. If anything, he seems more determined than ever to put Jet in her place as a “mammal” and a … place as a “mammal” and a slave.
As political intrigues heat up in the Green Zone and one of her human friends is given the death penalty for treason, Jet finds herself surrounded by strangers, enemies, fans and so-called friends, none of whom she fully trusts. Jet soon realizes that the only path to her family’s survival will be the one Jet carves herself.

The New Order: Alien Apocalypse Part III
Holy hell this book has so many twists & turns my head & especially my heart were spinning! Jet begins to lose trust in everyone close to her. They’re holding too much back when she’s in so much danger, more than ever in fact, with Laks new position! Anaze risks everything because of jealousy and Trezen is showing more interest than is healthy!
This book was a much more like what I’m used to from this author. Jet still got lost in contemplation but not to the extent as the previous books, thankfully. The contradictory feelings of Jet & Laks burgeoning love story were just as interesting to me. It’s pretty emotive overall actually. I’m diving straight into book #4.

“The New Order” is the third installment in the “Alien Apocalypse” series by J.C. Andrijeski, a NA dystopian sci-fi/fantasy series set in a futuristic version of Earth at the brink of environmental breakdown and invaded by aliens (Nirreth), who prey on humans, using them for food and different kinds of entertainment, while intended on ‘nirrethforming’ Earth to their lizard-like needs.
Jet Tetsuo, the human protagonist, who has been living as a slave in the Royal Nirreth household until now, finds herself abruptly in the position of an honorary member of the Royal family, which tons of strings attached. Because, in reality, the position only brings complications. Now as the official consort of Laksri, Jet is been threatened from all fronts. The Nirreth, first and foremost Ringmaster Trazen, would love to put that ‘human’ (and former slave) in her place. The humans see Jet status as treason and Richter is just interesting in use her for his goals. Jet soon realizes, that in order to survive, she would have to find a way out and a solution on her own.
“The New Order” is a well-crafted, action-rich, fast-paced, and easy-to-read story, written in Andrijeski’s unparalleled style, a blend of urban fantasy, erotic romance and dystopia that flows seamlessly through the pages, with an original world-building and interesting characters. Twist and unexpected turns await behind the corners, while the story-arch and the main character develop further ahead.
Jet transferred from the status of a slave owned by the Royal family to an honorary member of that Royal family overnight. It is not really a prize s her role as Laksri’s official consort is likely to get her killed. At the same time, the Ringmaster Trazen has not backed off and seems to be more determined to put her back in her place as a “mammal” and slave. Political intrigue has become more elaborate and deadly and she has even more confusion as to who to trust. It soon seems clear to Jet that she can only survive the Rings if she carves out her own path away from Richter and the Nirreth. Can Jet survive all of this intrigue?
The was definitely a rich book when it comes to political changes, confusion and arguments between all of them at different points. There were times when it became a bit tedious with all of Jet’s analysis and determination which made her appear really stupid and easy to manipulate. After a while, it became just a little tedious and I was tempted to skip forward a little just to avoid it. Generally well written and easy to read and understand. Now I can’t help wondering what happens next as it all ended with a step change in this book so I can’t wait to find out what happens next.
Ok, quite frankly I’m not a big fan of apocalypse themed stories, but I’ve read and very much enjoyed other books by JC Andrijeski so I figured it was worth trying her new series as it’s on KU so was low risk. I’m really glad I did as this was fantastically addictive wonderful stuff. Now available in a single bookset, The Complete Alien Apocalypse Series (Parts I-IV Plus Bonus Novella), and I’d highly recommend that as, please trust me, you’ll not be able to stop until reaching the end. This crazy mashup “Apocalyptic, Romantic, Science Fiction, Alien Invasion Adventure” somehow works perfectly. I loved the plot line in each darn book, all of which flowed into a great story line filled with a perfectly crafted cast of lead and supporting characters, and all tied up with a bow of superb writing. Really fantastic stuff and I very much highly recommend each book and (for anyone coming to this fir the first time) the boxset.
