A shadowy group is manipulating society—and they’ve only just begun.
Late one night, investigative journalist Jack Logan receives a surprise visit from U.S. Senator Malcolm Phillips at his New York apartment. Disheveled and in a panic, the senator swears that he’s about to be murdered and pleads with Jack to protect his wife Taylor, who happens to be the only woman Jack has ever truly loved.
Days later, Phillips is found dead in a hotel room in Micronesia, the apparent victim of an allergy attack. While the nation mourns, Jack and Taylor race to find the one man who knows the truth. As they’re pursued by unknown assailants, their desperate hunt leads them to the Institute, an immense facility shrouded in mystery that has indoctrinated a generation of America’s political and media power players. Led by the enigmatic Damon Crosse, the Institute has its tentacles everywhere—but Taylor unknowingly holds the secret to the one thing that Crosse needs to carry out his plan.

There are books that keep you up at night, and there are books that keep you up all night ― L.C. Shaw’s The Network is the latter. Sophisticated, suspenseful, and unpredictable, Shaw’s deft plotting and breakneck pacing set the standard for the modern political thriller. Once I started reading, I couldn’t stop. Absolutely electrifying.
If I could give it 10 stars, I would. This was an exceptional thriller from start to finish and a model for what a good book should be. It stayed just within the realm of reality as to be believable while stretching the reader’s expectations for the genre in so many ways. Unless I am mistaken, this seems like book 1 in a future series and I will absolutely be awaiting the next.
This is a daring book that takes a bold stance on many issues, while also being a non-stop adventure.
Read in 1 day, it’s so good! I KNEW a twist was coming and my jaw still dropped when I read it! You need to read this book.
L.C. Shaw comes out of the gate with fast-paced action, delicious complexity, and a villainous goal that makes you question today’s media trends, faith, and the reach of insidious power. It’s a thrilling, high-stakes ride.
The Network offers a superb blend of a political, speculative, and action thriller. Lynne Constantine manages this delicate balancing act with a skill and aplomb that is both a throwback to Robert Ludlum and testament to Dan Brown. The kind of tale Alfred Hitchcock would have loved to adapt and thriller lovers are certain to devour.
Shaw’s blistering pacing, compelling drama, and tight prose mesh together to create an unputdownable read. Journalist Jack Logan rips down the curtain masking one of mankind’s oldest secrets in an all-out battle for the human soul. Tune into The Network for the gritty news of today — and yesterday. Breathtaking.
Washington power plays, Supreme Court intrigue, religious relics, and a chase for the ages. Fans of Brad Meltzer and James Rollins will love L.C. Shaw’s The Network.
The Network is thriller-writing at its best: a sinister conspiracy with international power, a pulse-pounding chase to save the world, an unlikely romance with heart-wrenching complications, and one mysterious hero to untangle it all. Jack Reacher and Jack Ryan, watch out! Jack Logan is hot on your trail.
Have you ever wondered if there’s a secret group or person pulling all the strings to manipulate society? The Network is so many stories rolled into one. Deception, religion, abuse, and freedom (think Raiders of the Lost Ark with a dash of the Da Vinci Code). The story begins when Jack Logan is visited by his Senator friend Malcolm. Malcolm is in danger and wants Jack to help save his wife Taylor and their unborn child from powerful players who wish them harm. Jack and Taylor begin a page-turning journey to find Jeremy, the one person who hold the key to everything.
In a parallel story, Maya, an accomplished doctor has just left her family for the opportunity of a lifetime at The Institute, a medical lab, teaching center and think tank. Things are strange at the Institute and Maya quickly discovers this place is not what it seems, but a front for something far more sinister.
There are so many layers to this story, that revealing anymore would just not be fair and you have to read the entire story to truly understand. What I can say is that I was holding my breath and on the edge of my seat. Some parts are difficult, but completely make sense to the story. This book will certainly get you thinking and I would totally recommend checking out The Network.
THE NETWORK by L. C. Shaw starts out as a straight thriller that later evolves into a Christian thriller with a good versus evil theme. L. C. Shaw is the pen name of author Lynne Constantine who also writes novels with her sister as Liv Constantine. This is the first book in a new series.

This book is extremely well written and fast-paced. For part of the book, it does go back and forward in time, but the transitions are smooth and easily followed. Jack and Taylor’s characters are well defined as is that of the main antagonist. There are lots of twists and turns.
Who can be trusted? There is corruption, betrayals, religious artifacts, conspiracy, secrets and much more.
