Nazi-looted art. Cyber-stalking. Betrayal.Nonverbal communication expert Doctor Genevieve Lenard is on holiday in Hungary when she and her team are asked to assist in a missing person case. Her autistic mind is already having difficulties dealing with the new environment, and having to co-operate with local authorities might push her past her limits. Even more so when the missing person turns out … the missing person turns out to be an important, and painful, part of a team member’s past.
The seemingly simple case takes a gruesome turn as their search uncovers artwork drenched in violent history, numerous deaths presumed to be by natural causes and the menacing online presence of a serial killer who’s been cyber-stalking victims for years. Bodies are piling up at an alarming rate and, knowing that one of their own is in the killer’s sights, Genevieve will have to use all her inner strength and expertise to stop this ruthless murderer.

I enjoyed reading this book. It is a fun series. The characters are amazing. I can’t wait to see what happens next.
First book I have read where the main character is on ASD. Very interesting to see how her character evolves throughout the series. My one negative is the language.
I have read all of these exceptional novels involving a high-functioning (genius-level) woman who is on the autism spectrum, but who has adjusted to interacting with other people over the many cases she has covered with her colleagues. The first book in the series started with her nearly paralyzed with inability to talk or otherwise deal with people, but through encountering an expert art thief/burglar, the main character begins to expand her horizons. Since this is an episodic and sequential set of books, I strongly recommend starting with the first one in the series and then reading each next one in order. This would be much more satisfying than reading the books out of sequence, as the reader is introduced to the characters and their history as the main character meets them. I really love these books, and await the next one with bated breath.
An entertaining and fast paced story that begins with an investigation into provenance of a painting located in Hungary which Genevieve, who is traveling in the country joins. The team ultimately determines that the painting – and many others – were Nazi loot, but other matter, including numerous victims of a serial killer, keep surfacing. Genevieve overcomes the highly stressed environment to find the truth. A slight negative is that the book was written as a standalone and, thus, unnecessarily reintroduced people, personalities and quirks already well known by readers of even one of the earlier books
I love this series of books! The evolution in the main character, Genevieve Lenard, is heart warming. I have found it very interesting to read a book with a first person narrative that is on the autistic spectrum. It has been a learning experience as well as a great read!
I love the unusual heroine. The amount of research Ms Ryan puts into her novels makes them informative and entertaining.
This series just keeps getter better. Every book I learn something new about art, autism and human behavior. Really admire Genevieve.
Love This series…but start at the beginning.
Still want to have dinner with ‘the gang’ ~ Genevieve and her friends!!!!
LOVE all of her books, always anxious for the next in series..Thank you Estelle!
Very entertaining
Totally new type of characters, and totally entertaining!
Love the characters in this series – I’ve read them all. For someone new to Dr. Genevieve Lenard, starting at the beginning of the series is important, since it is harder to understand the premise and how all the characters interact otherwise. Great plots, art, mystery, and a spunky, unusual heroine.
Love the Genevieve Lenard books.
Love this series!
Another fine mystery by Ms Ryan. A good study in how autism can be an asset
Loved this book! I’ve read the entire series in a four month period.
