Haley’s got a serious thing for hot nerds–namely, her new neighbor, Ted. But their shy glances and awkward exchanges in the elevator aren’t getting her anywhere. If she’s going to make this nerd hers, she’s got her work cut out for her.
This is a new to me series and what a great read!! I loved this story. It made me laugh. I was highly entertained. This is part of a series but can be read as a stand alone.
Loved Haley and Ted. Their missteps were so funny and goofy. I could not help but fall in love with these two.
Strong story line, entertaining dialogue, fun characters, and easy to visualize descriptions to details.
Written as 1st person, multi pov with a HFN ending.
All in all, a great read. Can not wait for the next one! I plan on going back and reading the previous books in the series as well.
Would I recommend this book? Yes!

I loved this book. It was so fun from start to finish. I always love books with nerds and dogs in them. Add them together and it easily became a favorite. I am a firm believer in not giving away any spoilers so I’ll just say get this book. You won’t regret it.

Haley is a veterinarian with a crush on the next door neighbor Ted. With the help of her best friend Liv, she wants to get to know him beyond the occasional “hi” in the elevator. Ted is sexy cute in a nerdy sort of way. As Haley says it “Now, here’s a man who knows how to rock an elbow patch.” (I burst out laughing at that). Ted has a major crush on Haley but he stumbles every time he tries to talk to her. So his crush is going nowhere.
Just when they’ve managed to start talking a big misunderstanding might cut off a relationship between these two before it even starts.
If I could some up this book in one word, it’s funny. In two words, hilarious and sexy. Sylvie is the master of romantic comedy and I always love reading her books. From Haley to Ted, and her best friend Liv, they are all super fun characters. While The Nerd Next Door is part of a series, it can be read as a standalone, which I absolutely love. The Nerd Next Door is the perfect blend of romance and laughter, a super fun read.

I loved Haley and Ted’s story. I had a smile on my face the whole time and this book had me chuckling too. I enjoyed how Ted misunderstood Haley and Liv’s relationship and tried to control his attraction to Haley because of it. Haley who is unaware of what Ted is thinking is trying to figure out what she has to do to get this guy to notice her. I liked that I had already gotten to meet Haley and Ted in Liv’s story (The Way You Are). I really enjoyed this story and rooted for Haley and Ted to finally get together.

He is a nerd and she has the hots for him but he does not know it yet. They share shy looks in the lift but she wants so much more than that. How is she going to get him? Does he feel the same way? See if she gets him where she wants him

“The Nerd Next Door” audiobook by Sylvie Stewart is another laugh out loud story. We originally met Haley in “The Way You Are”, Brett and Liv’s story. Haley has recently moved to town for her dream work opportunity and keeps having awkward encounters with her cute “nerd” neighbor. Ted Jones is the “nerd” next door that she has a crush on. Ted also has a crush on Haley but before he asks her out he overhears a conversation she has with Liv and he mistakenly thinks that Haley and Liv are a long distance couple instead of best friends. This begins the most fun relationship/non-relationship. I really enjoyed this book and as always I can’t wait for the next one!

Talk about funny! I loved all the sticky situations these two seem to get each other into and the massive misunderstanding is great! The chemistry between these two is off the charts as well. I absolutely loved this book! If you’re looking for an easy, fun listen with lots of laughs along the way then this is your book!

Looking for the Real Clark Kent!? The man they created the comic book to resemble? Look no further than Professor Ted Jones. This nerdy Professor has it all. Brains, looks, and the awkward shyness that makes us all want to keep him as our own. It’s no wonder our perky vet turns into a star eyed bobble head around him.
The Nerd Next Door is a fun and entertaining peek at the wildlife phenom of a sexy nerd next door. Please be advised not all sexy nerds are as easy to capture. Use caution and proceed with back up (a comic book stash is easily acquired for this purpose) and never forget to follow your heart/hormones/hot neighbor. Please refrain from stalking creepily in a manner that is obvious, we wouldn’t want a jail cell scene in the next book!

Terrific Story & Audible Listen Fun & Enjoyable!
The Nerd Next Door
Carolina Kisses, Book 1
By: Sylvie Stewart
Narrated by: Amanda Stribling, David Black
This is an enjoyable and sweet RomCom. Sylvie Stewart has a wonderful writing style, her stories are captivating and easy to get lost in and lose track of time. “The Nerd Next Door” is Haley and Ted’s story, it is a light-hearted and fun story that will put a smile on your face. Haley relocated to start her new job at the Coastal Veterinary Clinic, Ted Jones, the hot nerdy guy in her building caught her eye, she just has to find a way to talk to him. Ted is super shy, he finds Haley attractive but he seems to get tongue tied and off balance every time she is near. I adored these two characters, Haley is funny and full of personality, love her dog Tank. Ted is the spitting image of a geeky nerd, smart yet clueless. I loved how easy it was for him to talk to her when he thought romance was off the table for him. They were perfect for each other and great together. I loved how their story played out, it was well plotted with plenty of drama, a bit of angst, some great humor all leading up to a great romance. Sylvie Stewart, thank you for another terrific story.
I listened to the Audible edition, Amanda Stripling and David Black are terrific narrators and voice artists. They bring these characters to life, giving each their own voice and personality. You could hear how much heart they put into their work as they project the characters emotions into their performance. Amanda’s portrayal of Haley was spot on, as was David’s portrayal of Ted, they sounded just as you pictured them in the story. They did a great job on the secondary characters as well. They are entertaining storytellers and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for the terrific listen

4 stars for The Nerd Nest Door by Sylvie Stewart. This is book one in the Carolina Kisses series. For me this series is great and fun. “So, I do what I often do in difficult situations. I ask myself one very important question. What would Batman do?” Ted is a nerd in every since of the word. He loves comic books and history. Even with all these good qualities he is hot to boot. Haley is new to the area and spotted her hot neighbor her first day there. She is a veterinarian and has become a bit of a stalker when it comes to Ted. She feels this attraction to him but he seems to be indifferent to her. Really Ted thinks she is gorgeous but is to shy to actually talk to her. These two seem to be getting their signals crossed when it comes to each other. “Holy crossed signals, Batman!” I loved the romance beginning between these two. Haley has no idea what to think. One minute she thinks he is hot for her and the next minute she thinks he can’t get away from him fast enough. “Surely I’m not the first woman to give up on men to pursue a relationship with chocolate instead.”
The thing I enjoyed most about this book was that is was an easy sweet read. It was funny and cute but also light at the same time. I have been reading a lot of dark books lately and this was a breath of fresh air for me. I loved every second of it and I can’t wait to read more from this author.

Do not eat or drink anything while reading this book you will spit it out from laughing so much! I really enjoyed this book and getting to know Haley and Ted. They were adorably awkward and their awkwardness and inability to read signals only added to the angsty (it’s a word, trust me) build up of their HEA. Fumbling through their relationship in the beginning allows them to get to know each other on a much deeper level. This was funny, passionate, steamy and a really quick read.

Haley is in lust with her nerdy next door neighbor. They could not be more opposite. She is a sweet veterinarian and with a love for all animals. Dr. Jones (giggles) is nerdy professor with a passion for history and comics. He has a major crush that makes him embarrassingly awkward around her.
This is a short, sweet romance chalk full of quirks, superheroes, and comics. It is hilarious with all the problematic tension of liking someone and not really knowing how to act. HEA included.
