Phenomenal story of pleasing persuasive persevering passion!
I read so many I don’t remember what this was about.
Good
Well crafted story by Ms. Morland. Harrison Thornton is the man.

This story had great elements, but Sara and Harrison seemed to be in a race to get to a physical relationship. They vaguely knew each other in the past and hardly spent any time getting to know each other as adults before diving into the deep end. To me, a good romance is a mind, soul, and body phenomenon, but the 0 to 60 focus on the physical spoils it.
The Nearness of You is a stand alone story, though the epilogue does set up for more to come in the series. I thought the story was interesting and I would listen to more by the author.
I listened to the Audible version. The narrators did well and I would listen to both of them again. I always appreciate dual narration.

Held my interest, the characters were likeable – even “the villain” – and the storyline had a good flow however it felt unfinished. It doesn’t end in a cliffhanger technically but questions were left unanswered. Perhaps those will be answered in other books in the series.
Sara Flanders recently divorced, returns home but her rumors from high school, continue to haunt her. Growing up on the wrong side of the tracks. Her son seen by the local pediatric oncologist, the single, handsome, rich Dr. Harrison Thornton. Will her insecurities keep her from happiness?
Heather Costa and Jeffrey Kafer tell the story with emotion. audiobookobsessionreviewer
The Nearness of You: The Thorntons, Book One was a great read by Iris Moreland. Sara has returned to her hometown to create a happy life for her and her son. Now that she is rebuilding after her divorce, she isn’t looking for the comfort of a man. She can’t deny that she is attracted to her son’s doctor, Harrison. But she knows that his family will never accept her. I absolutely loved reading Sara and Harrison’s story. Heather Costa and Jeffrey Kafer did a great job of narrating the characters. I can’t wait to read more by Iris Morland.
This was my first Iris Morland’s book and won’t be my last. This is the first book in The Thorntons Series, a small town story. This is a great introduction to this Series. Sara and Harrison’s story is sweet and sexy. Sara’s son is adorable. I loved this story, the characters (maybe not all characters), the storyline, and the happy ending. Heather Costa and Jeffrey Kafer did a great job with the narration. I love their voices together. I enjoyed listening to this audiobook, and can’t wait for the next book in the Series.
*AUDIOBOOK REVIEW *
The story is beautiful and filled with emotions. The only thing making this a downturn for me was the female voice; I couldn’t get used to it and in the end I was happy when I’ve finished the book. If it wasn’t for the great male voice I probably wouldn’t have finished.
Anyway, the storyline is good and it progresses nicely to a happy ending.
No unnecessary descriptions of surroundings
Good dialogues
The chemistry between the main characters is building steadily and there’s some hot love scenes.
Narrators:
As mentioned I’m not fully satisfied with the female voice and it’s not because of anything other than the quality of her voice. Otherwise it’s read with feelings and has good pronunciation.
The male voice is great in every way.
OMG, who could ever resist a gorgeous, rich, doctor? Sarah is so lucky to have Trace after a horrible marriage. Trace is everything Kyle is not. I instantly fell in love with the idea of them. Only had to wait until Sarah did too. Trace is so kind, understanding and protective. Sarah has been hurt so badly, her trust issues win more times than not. With having dealt with a sick child, Sarah is stronger than ever. She also had a reputation that is hard to forget. The few twists were perfectly written and added so much drama to this story, I was hooked. I could not stop listening.
Heather Costa and Jeffrey Kafer brought this story to life. They both have voices that are easy to listen to and even easier to get lost in. Heather is the perfect Sarah. Heather’s ability to bring out all of Sarah’s emotions so that I felt them too was amazing. Her male voices were easy to distinguish. Jeffrey is a wonderful Trace. Jeffrey helped to create the strong, protective and loving character that Trace is. His female voices were smooth and did not feel forced. I look forward to hearing more from these two.
Sara was raised in the wrong art of town, and didnt have a great upbringing with everyone from town knowing her moms business. Harrison on the other hand was from the golden family of the town and had a completely different life. Now Sara is divorced with a son that may have cancer again, and Harrison is the Dr. she takes her son to. You will feel all of the emotions from this book. The narration from Heather Costa and Jeffrey Kafer was so very smooth and well done.

An easy read that kept me interested.
Could not stop reading this! Finished in hours, as it was so good!
I really enjoyed this book
Really enjoyed this story!! Loved the characters! I’m on the final story now about Heath. I absolutely loved Harrison & Sara’s story & also LOVED Seth & Rose! They’ve all been good!
Fun…Enjoyed the story! Ordered the rest of the book series as soon as I was finished with the book. I
It’s probably OK for most readers. I did not enjoy the hero being so sexually aggressive on the first date. It really turned me off.
Sara is a divorced mother of a six year old boy. She moves back to her hometown where she was from the wrong side of the tracks. Her mother was an alcoholic and rumors were spread the she was a slut. Harrison is an oncologist and from a wealthy family. When Sara brings her son to him to make sure his cancer is still in remission, Harrison is very attracted to her but she’s a patients mother and doesn’t want to cross that line. The more he sees he, he can’t help but ask her out. They start dating until his mother says some very hateful things to Sara. She believes they’ll never be happy and breaks up with Harrison. Can they work out their problems and live happily ever after?
I have never read or even heard of this author but I’m glad I found her. Opposites attract. Meddling mother. Sweet little boy who loves bugs. Steamy. I got lost in this story and before I knew it, I was finished with it.
